Here in melbourne australia, Rob Sherrard has a rs200 evolution that has 537kw or 732bhp if you like and has officially run 0-62mph in 1.8 secs in SPEED magazine australia march-april 2005! The journo was in the passenger seat when he did the run and they reckoned he collapsed out of the car when the run was over! lol

Yeah my bad. 2.1ltr is correct. But the 0-62 record is actually 3.07sec for a road car, set by the rs200 about 13 years ago. Not bad for a ford! haha

The rs200 had a 2.7ltr engine, turbo charged. the fastest ford ever built really. It came in different froms, the full on rally edition came with up to 700hp.....the roads cars had anything inbetween. only about 150 road cars made though. Look after these legends......

The RS200 has a 1.8 or a 2.1ltr BDA/BDT engine.

It made little over 400bhp in Gr.B. They built 200 homologation cars. The road cars made about 250-350bhp, and the later RS200 Evolution model made about 450bhp(?) and set the 0-60mph world record with 2.8sec.

The car was ordered new from Hans Möller and he was racing it in Nordic hill-climb competitions between 1986-1996 with great success (then it got banned). The car has some modifications like a old formula 1 turbocharger and other performance up-grades. Before the F1 turbo was fitted the car produced 630hp and 830nm´s tourqe. Today it has well over 700BHP. They have clocked the car 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 2.0 seconds and 0-124 mph (0-200 km/h) in under 7
