I find this video very simple and believable, no super-production or "heavenly" music o effects, no fake "nature" sounds, just something I can begin to practice today, in my tiny one-room apartment, meditation as a powerful (not magical) tool for improving oneself. That's what many people, of very different backgrounds, have told me. Oh, and no promises of becoming a millionaire overnight!! Thank you, you've convinced me to give it a try.
Hi This was my first medation. and it was awesome. im so new at this. but i need this in my life. im going through daiylsis three times a week. my faith is been tested alot.im 25 yrs old. and i was born with 45% Percent of one kidney. so i going threw a lot. if their a book on this?
Meditating was a very positive experience. I sat out in my front yard in the evening before bed and assumed a good posture. I found for me it is very comfortable to clasp my fingers, but leave my pinkies straight out and pressed together. Anyways, I simply closed my eyes and focused on my breathing, kind of like observing it. I felt very light and peaceful.I started to feel almost weightless, but in a good way, not a dizzy way. Like the weight of my body kind of disappeared. When I opened my ey
@CALMJURFACEDOWN if that is what makes you happy, that is what you should think about. whatever you believe is the source of your happiness, go there. then feel your gratitude and offer that upward.
@CALMJURFACEDOWN There are many reasons you might want to meditate. Yes, I meditate as a way to be closer to God. Prayer is like talking, and meditation is like listening.
Thank you so much for this video, it's really helping me out. I tend to think things over a lot just before i sleep and have started watching this video, it's helped me clear my mind and get to sleep more easily :)
@rsmaster16 Nothing specific. think of it as an exploration into a new territory of your self. I can't tell you what to expect and there is no right or wrong thing about it.
that being said there is a right or wrong direction. we are seeking expansion of awareness not contraction into a smaller box. Don't rate or grade what happens, just explore. Explore like a child who is interested in learning new things and is not concerned with being right or wrong or intelligent.
why is it important to look up while eyes are closed ? i cant control that while breathing, doesnt it make our mind busy while keepin balance between makin sure to look up and breathing ?
@thugirl7 you have to be patient. even if you can't do it perfectly, this will help you. Don't worry about being perfect, just be satisfied in trying your best.
Keeping the eyes slightly upward helps raise your energy, and bring you to a more positive state of mind. Letting the eyes fall brings you toward sleep.
Hi, im aaron, im 13 years old, and my family meditates every afternoon and at dusk. i dont though and i have tried. meditation has been in my family for generations and by just following the steps that you have given in this vidio i did it! i was sitting there and a flash af bright greenish color following blue and the sound of trickeling water in my right ear. and when i opend my eyes it felt as if a large weight was lifted of my shoulders. please reply!
@TheReaper251 Hi Aaron, That sounds great! Just keep working with it (when you want to) and let me know if you have any questions. One thing you can do if you ever hear that noise in the right ear again is to really listen very carefully to it. If there are multiple sounds, just choose the one you are most interested in and try to tune in to that one and sort of pull it out of the other sounds. Keep focusing on the right side too. Not the left. The sound can change and take you deeper.
Wow, that was such a beautiful experiance, THANKYOU for this wonderful gift. Your voice is sooo patient and soothing, please keep up the good work my friend and thankyou a million times for this x sarah x
@GargMusic Hi, I know it's hard to follow all of the steps in the video. It's hard for everyone. But just practice it more and it will get easier. It takes some patience. Just do what you can and have fun.
It's cool that you saw that blue light. It's very nice that you got to experience that. There are lights and sounds that come from inside of you. Sometimes just close your eyes (if you are in a very quiet place) and just listen to any sounds you can hear in your right ear.
I'm kinda new to meditation, I practice martial arts, and I used to practice Hatha Yoga, but whenever I try to meditate on my own I can't seem to stop my mind or my thoughts it's like the thoughts constantly strike my mind. With your guide though, I felt some joy for a brief moment. Thanks a lot!

hey i just started mediatation recently and have found that song can also help while meditating, for example i listened to the bee gees "how deep is your love" you can really feel tremendous energy up and down your spine to your frontal lobe area..does this mean its working? also when finished i usually feel drained for a bit mentally/spritually almost kinda of a high of some sort that i dont want to leave..??
@DAROCORP if meditating correctly you should be relaxed but also have good energy afterward. You should not feel drained. Feeling drained could be from meditating too long, trying too hard instead of relaxing, or based on what you have written it's also possible what you felt was a bit emotional, which would explain becoming drained. Try to stay very calm and listen to music that makes you feel that way. Emotions are not bad but try to internalize your energy when meditating.

@BallOfNerves Thanks for letting me know. I'm glad you found it helpful. I plan to upload some new videos when I have the time. I hope you enjoy them too.
Hi, i have a serious question, once in my house me and my friend were meditating and our eyes were closed and we both saw a demonic person crawling to us and it was both described the same and she wasnt just going along with it because we screamed at the same time and i first described a part of it and she finished describing it...what would this mean?
@ThreedaysGracelova Astral entities do exist. It's possible that one visited you at this time. This is a rare thing and if it's not happening more now I would not pay any attention to it. If these things continue or if there is a bad vibe in your house there are things you should do. Let me know if that is the case.
Meditate with love and joy and with no fear. Meditate on God in whatever form you feel most connected with. Higher vibrations are not welcoming to negative energies.
@JAWS2JAWS6 meditation is when the mind and body are still, and the heart is open. Some people of all religions meditate. Christians, Buddhists, Moslems, Jews and atheists too. And many people who meditate are not religious at all. Meditation if for anyone who wants more calmness, peace, inner strength and for those who want to know God. Think of meditation as listening. Prayer is talking and meditation is listening for God's answer.
woah...that was such a strange feeling. I began to feel...like i wasnt feeling...i dont know, it was strange, yet *very* calming...my head feels light(er) and I feel strangly happy..not happy, just a little more peaceful. Excellent. I see how meditation could REALY help in aleviating stress :)
Hey. I tried this meditation. I tried it because i was scared because of something that is going on in my life. Not me but to someone else but i tried meditation to calm myself down and im wanting to do it on a regular basis. It did calm me down when i tried it but i felt like i was controlling every breath that i took in. When i was supposed to let it just happen. I don't know how to do that....could you help me?
@BLINK182wilNeverdie Hi. It sounds like you have the right idea. It is not easy to let go of controlling the breath, so just keep trying. Do not be frustrated, just keep trying your best. Feel each breath as a unique experience, enjoy it, and explore the feeling of it. Watch it very closely and even if you are not successful at not controlling, it will still calm you and help you a lot. Just keep trying and meditate every day. If you believe in God, try to feel, God is breathing, not you. ok?
@Sajakiri Hi, No, this is not really correct. Meditation is not subconscious (or sleepy feeling, or spacey feeling). Try to sit up very straight, and concentrate your energy at the point between your eyebrows. Feel alert and awake in your mind, the way you would if you were flying an airplane for the first time and were about to leave the runway, but don't be tense either. Most of all practice feeling love and gratitude in your heart toward God or Nature. Let me know how you do. Good luck.
Hi. Im a young man, 22 years old. I'v started meditating for 3 days now. Sometimes when i meditate it feels like my body is flying. But it only lasts for a few seconds. Do you know what it is?
After having this flying feeling, I get a strange feeling in my stomach, which i never had before. It's a warm feeling. It's a nice feeling but also a feeling that I cant endure in the stomach. I gotta stop the meditation because I have this gut feeling. What is this stomach feeling. Can you help me?
@peaceonearth360 no problem with your body feeling light or "like it's flying". I suspect the feeling you have in the stomach is energy in that area. It may help you a great deal if you can learn to channel that energy upward toward the point midway between the eyebrows, the front of your brain. The way to do this is to "open the heart" with deep feelings of gratitude, self offering to God, love and devotion. There are ways to make this easier. Try on your own and let me know how it goes.
Thanks for this video - it helped me get started. It felt good. Question: I have a bit of back problem at the moment, so sitting/kneeling positions are hard for me for longer periods of time. Is standing a possibility?
@thebigdoubleu If you visit the joyiswithinyouDOTcom website there is a lot of info about back issues and sitting. Standing is ok too, but sitting is better if you can find a comfortable way to do it because you can relax more. Try alternating, sit as long as you can still feel comfortable, then stand, stretch or even walk, then sit again for a few. this way you can gradually develop the strength you need to sit longer. I started this way, now can sit really long. patience and joy!
@artpeacemaster the thoughts in your mind don't have to bother you. just focus on where you are trying to go. like driving a car on the highway, we don't take every offramp. just focus forward and upward and feel like you are gliding through and beyond the thoughts. also try to think about things that really make you feel the most happiness, enjoy them, but then try to let the happiness you feel in your heart expand to bring peace and joy to others everywhere. you can use your thoughts this way.
Thank you so much for this video I felt really calm and peaceful when following your instructions. I even stayed there for a little while longer after it ended and when I opened my eyes I realised I was in my room since I was really into it. I also felt the power in your voice when I closed my eyes and looking forward to continuing this every day because I am really into this spiritual power. Thank you so much Arohamai you have an amazing gift :)
@Flamingdan I'm glad to hear that you find meditation helpful. If you continue daily you may find that each meditation is unique in some way. They will not always be easy but if you persevere with a loving heart you will find that your whole life is blessed by increased peace and joy. an actual meditation technique (besides what I have in the video) may be helpful at some point too.
thank you so much for this video and for your service. i can feel your power and it is so helpful. i have been meditating for a few weeks now twice a day but with little direction. i try to witness my thoughts/emotions but i can never tell whether i'm witnessing or identifying with them. it's all very confusing and I trust that teh presence of a teacher with integrity will help a great deal, do you know any teachers in new york? I don't mind paying a bit but I just need to know I can trust.
@practicejams There are different ways to meditate and the way you are explaining is a bit different than what I practice and teach to others. It sounds a bit too mental for me. Do you believe in a higher power than your own reason and thought? I'm inquiring about teachers in your area. I don't know of any right now but do have a friend who was teaching in NY city, and he may be able to refer someone. I'll get back to you. could you email me directly at turiya@anandasouthbayDOTorg?
I'm glad it helps. Please contact me if you want further help with meditation. I'm very happy to help if you wish. Here is where I learned how to meditate: wwwDOTexpandinglightDOT org
@weirddogdied Thanks for sharing about your experience. You will do well if you continue. I hope you do keep trying meditation. It can get even better. There really is a very quiet & joyful place in you. A "portable paradise." As you progress you'll find that peace staying with you more throughout the day. It is not fake, it is real. Inner peace and joy can be yours all of the time. This is where I learned how to meditate:
Hi, You'll find some links on my channel or in the info of my video. but here is a really good one. You can get all you need right here. Let me know if I can be of further help. Peace and Joy!
tnx for teaching me how to meditate, this is actually my first time lol, and its kinda hard for me cuz i have minor ticks, so its hard for me to breath normal, but i do try my best ^^
This was my 2nd time meditating. Finally after testing all the postures I was able to sit comfortably and while my eyes where closed I recognized that I started to see a point with concentrical circles approaching the center. It was a great experience.
great, just focus forward and upward as if you are offering your heart and love into this. It's not about willing to see more or anything like that. gratitude and love are the keys.
The feeling you describe in your hands is not anything to give much attention. Instead, try to keep your focus upward toward the forehead. Even feel like you are drawing all the feelings in your body upward to that point and offering it to God or the Universe. There may be a time when you feel that energetic feeling at the point between the eyebrows. That is a good thing. Always try to keep your energy centered there if you can.
Gratitude & humility are the best insurance that you move forward.
when i meditate and try to gaze where my thumb was after i close my eyes, they end up going back down because of my eye lids, but when i try too hard to look up, my eyes feel like they are rolling too far up, then i get a head ache the next day for trying too hard. what should i do? lol
it just takes practice to keep them from going downward, and doing it without strain. if it really bothers you, don't worry about it, but try to feel that you are concentrating from the point between the eyebrows, with joy and gratitude.
I followed the sequence and it calmed me down. I was anxious all day because of an exame I am studying for and i was able to become empty and natural. I don't know if it makes sence...
According to the video I should berath through my nose . I have nosehedge-warp so it is eassier for me to breath through my mouth. What dou you think can I do it this way too?
I'm glad you were able to calm yourself with the meditation.
Breathing through your mouth is fine. Just do what feels most relaxing for you.
I have more free information and guided meditation at my youtube channel. There are links there to other websites including my meditation blog RelaxMeditateSmiledotcom. Just click the blue joyiswithinyoudotcom link at the top of this page.
I'm so happy you liked the video. Thanks for the feedback. Please see the other videos when you have time and rate them as you feel to. And any feedback is welcome, including specific requests.
hmm when i did it i got to a point when laughter came into me but at the same time i felt like around the area of my head i felt something like i was getting sprinkled on, so did i do it right
Yes, try to focus the energy that you feel to bring it forward to the point between the eyebrows.
Bring the feelings you have in your heart, like love or joy, or gratitude, up to that point. There is more, but if you do it every day you'll see improvement in your life. More joy, less negative attitude.
once you get to a sweet place, always leave time to just enjoy it in peace and quiet.
Yes, "chi," or "prana" is your energy. The more you can center your energy within, and focus it at the point between the eyebrows, the more aware and uplifted you'll become.
but do it in a relaxed way. never strain to make this happen.
It warms my heart to be reminded of such simple yet powerful techniques. I practice meditation daily and still this guided meditation is helpful, calming, focusing and inspiring. It does bring me much joy. Thank you for your service.
I just did this and my body feels light. i love this!

rsmaster16 8 months ago
@rsmaster16 Yes, I think you can. It' might work right away or it might take a little practice. Just give it a try.
Other things that help for sleep:
Don't eat for a couple of hours before sleeptime, especially heavy or carb loaded food.
Taking a hot bath right before can help.
Don't be doing stuff that is making your mind all busy and wound up right before sleep.
Maybe read something that inspires you in a positive way right before.

How do we empty our mind? Or we are supposed to think about somethin or image something?
DaTaBASE3089 1 year ago
Hi, i have a serious question, once in my house me and my friend were meditating and our eyes were closed and we both saw a demonic person crawling to us and it was both described the same and she wasnt just going along with it because we screamed at the same time and i first described a part of it and she finished describing it...what would this mean?
ThreedaysGracelova 1 year ago
@ThreedaysGracelova Astral entities do exist. It's possible that one visited you at this time. This is a rare thing and if it's not happening more now I would not pay any attention to it. If these things continue or if there is a bad vibe in your house there are things you should do. Let me know if that is the case.
Meditate with love and joy and with no fear. Meditate on God in whatever form you feel most connected with. Higher vibrations are not welcoming to negative energies.

does meditation have something to do with the religous buddism
JAWS2JAWS6 1 year ago
@JAWS2JAWS6 meditation is when the mind and body are still, and the heart is open. Some people of all religions meditate. Christians, Buddhists, Moslems, Jews and atheists too. And many people who meditate are not religious at all. Meditation if for anyone who wants more calmness, peace, inner strength and for those who want to know God. Think of meditation as listening. Prayer is talking and meditation is listening for God's answer.

BLINK182wilNeverdie 1 year ago
@BLINK182wilNeverdie Hi. It sounds like you have the right idea. It is not easy to let go of controlling the breath, so just keep trying. Do not be frustrated, just keep trying your best. Feel each breath as a unique experience, enjoy it, and explore the feeling of it. Watch it very closely and even if you are not successful at not controlling, it will still calm you and help you a lot. Just keep trying and meditate every day. If you believe in God, try to feel, God is breathing, not you. ok?

Hi. I have an question...after certain point of time, i will feel like 'im lost in time' , and feel like im in a nap, ie short sleeping.
Am i doing it correctly?
Sajakiri 1 year ago

Can you help me?
peaceonearth360 1 year ago
@peaceonearth360 no problem with your body feeling light or "like it's flying". I suspect the feeling you have in the stomach is energy in that area. It may help you a great deal if you can learn to channel that energy upward toward the point midway between the eyebrows, the front of your brain. The way to do this is to "open the heart" with deep feelings of gratitude, self offering to God, love and devotion. There are ways to make this easier. Try on your own and let me know how it goes.
joyiswithinyoudotcom 1 year ago
Thanks for this video - it helped me get started. It felt good. Question: I have a bit of back problem at the moment, so sitting/kneeling positions are hard for me for longer periods of time. Is standing a possibility?
thebigdoubleu 1 year ago
@thebigdoubleu If you visit the joyiswithinyouDOTcom website there is a lot of info about back issues and sitting. Standing is ok too, but sitting is better if you can find a comfortable way to do it because you can relax more. Try alternating, sit as long as you can still feel comfortable, then stand, stretch or even walk, then sit again for a few. this way you can gradually develop the strength you need to sit longer. I started this way, now can sit really long. patience and joy!

I like to meditate, but my only problem is that my mind wonders too much, thats what bothers me :(
artpeacemaster 1 year ago

They will not always be easy but if you persevere with a loving heart you will find that your whole life is blessed by increased peace and joy. an actual meditation technique (besides what I have in the video) may be helpful at some point too.
many blessings on your journey within!

thank you so much for this video and for your service. i can feel your power and it is so helpful. i have been meditating for a few weeks now twice a day but with little direction. i try to witness my thoughts/emotions but i can never tell whether i'm witnessing or identifying with them. it's all very confusing and I trust that teh presence of a teacher with integrity will help a great deal, do you know any teachers in new york? I don't mind paying a bit but I just need to know I can trust.
practicejams 1 year ago
@practicejams There are different ways to meditate and the way you are explaining is a bit different than what I practice and teach to others. It sounds a bit too mental for me. Do you believe in a higher power than your own reason and thought? I'm inquiring about teachers in your area. I don't know of any right now but do have a friend who was teaching in NY city, and he may be able to refer someone. I'll get back to you. could you email me directly at turiya@anandasouthbayDOTorg?

Hi HLD,
barring the use of any "introspective substance" :-)
there is no need to worry about not breathing enough. the goal of meditation techniques as we move deeper is toward breathlessness.
Some would say that is when the real meditation begins.
Peace and good vibes :-)

tnx for teaching me how to meditate, this is actually my first time lol, and its kinda hard for me cuz i have minor ticks, so its hard for me to breath normal, but i do try my best ^^

This was my 2nd time meditating. Finally after testing all the postures I was able to sit comfortably and while my eyes where closed I recognized that I started to see a point with concentrical circles approaching the center. It was a great experience.
jajajah86 2 years ago
Hey Zoli,
great, just focus forward and upward as if you are offering your heart and love into this. It's not about willing to see more or anything like that. gratitude and love are the keys.
we have so much to be thankful for!

when i meditate with my hands facing upward, i feel like im holding a warm ball of energy in each hand, is that part of it?
PureSith 2 years ago
The feeling you describe in your hands is not anything to give much attention. Instead, try to keep your focus upward toward the forehead. Even feel like you are drawing all the feelings in your body upward to that point and offering it to God or the Universe. There may be a time when you feel that energetic feeling at the point between the eyebrows. That is a good thing. Always try to keep your energy centered there if you can.
Gratitude & humility are the best insurance that you move forward.
joyiswithinyoudotcom 2 years ago
Thank you ^^

when i meditate and try to gaze where my thumb was after i close my eyes, they end up going back down because of my eye lids, but when i try too hard to look up, my eyes feel like they are rolling too far up, then i get a head ache the next day for trying too hard. what should i do? lol
PureSith 2 years ago
it just takes practice to keep them from going downward, and doing it without strain. if it really bothers you, don't worry about it, but try to feel that you are concentrating from the point between the eyebrows, with joy and gratitude.

Peace,

Dear Zoli,
I'm glad you were able to calm yourself with the meditation.
Breathing through your mouth is fine. Just do what feels most relaxing for you.

hmm when i did it i got to a point when laughter came into me but at the same time i felt like around the area of my head i felt something like i was getting sprinkled on, so did i do it right
thelastmexicansamura 3 years ago
Yes, try to focus the energy that you feel to bring it forward to the point between the eyebrows.
Bring the feelings you have in your heart, like love or joy, or gratitude, up to that point. There is more, but if you do it every day you'll see improvement in your life. More joy, less negative attitude.
once you get to a sweet place, always leave time to just enjoy it in peace and quiet.
please contact me with any more questions.
joyiswithinyoudotcom 3 years ago
thanks for your help hey i got another question can i use this to gather up chi?
thelastmexicansamura 3 years ago
Yes, "chi," or "prana" is your energy. The more you can center your energy within, and focus it at the point between the eyebrows, the more aware and uplifted you'll become.
but do it in a relaxed way. never strain to make this happen.
