  • I liked the minute of continuous crashing!

  • hey guys i need help with wheel settings on xbox360

  • You guys have the 2 best job in the world.

Second to being a race/drift driver.

  • the guy on the right makes me uncomfortable.

  • true, richard burns owns all sims but this game looks pretty good. I wish codemasters would make TOCA 4 and aim to make it with great physics. f1 2010 had good physics but I'm not sure if it will translate to the many types of cars in TOCA. have you guys ever played TOCA 2 or 3 on the PS2 or PSP? I recommend trying Racedriver 2006 (American version of TOCA 2) on PSP. it's really cool. tons of tracks, weather effects, 21 cars on track, tons of different car types, and all that on the PSP. only $5

  • the best racing game...

  • @bebyboy31 This is nothing compared to RBR!

  • The sounds is very low on this video, almost need to put my speakers on max.

  • hey guys, I was wondering if this game is worth getting, Im into racing games like Forza and that sort of stuff but I want to try out rally

    So, is it worth getting?

  • @UnrealDesignz It's okay but you will finish it quickly and DLC is very overpriced so it would be good to wait until the price drops.

  • haha just noticed the Carlsburg in the drink holder in the advert for the chair. Great review by the way! I liked how to went through everything in detail.

  • @simracingtonight have you guys ever played Richard Burns Rally?

  • these guys annoy me as fuck -.-

  • Try it with a fanatec gt3rs. its so good. better than g25 and t500rs

  • Can you review Big Rigs?

  • amazing job

  • I was really let down by this game... I bought it second hand, and now i have to PAY them if i wanna play online because of the god damn VIP Pass... And the menus are just dull to look at. The racings great and all, but it kinda feels like its was a low budget game...

  • not sure if its been said but in dirt 2 you could race any car any track which would make some of those trailblazer runs longer in a car class like the 80's. Make up a few track notes for those trailblazer runs and you got yourself another bunch of stages to add to the rally racing.

  • I wish someone would make a modern rally game fully based off of the WRC structure. Having an actual season where you stick purely to rally and each location on the globe is an actual event spanning multiple stages with accumulated stage times deciding the winner. On harder modes, they could make it so that damage carries over from previous stages and road sweeping and tire wear/punctures are implemented. It'll never happen since it would be too complicated for a general audience.

  • @SquishyPeepBunny It could happen, and Codemasters would be the one to do it. Look what they did with the F1 series. The problem is that another company has the exclusive rights to WRC. I believe they have WRC 2 coming out in October. The first one came out last year, and was a good foundation, but also left a lot to be desired. I would love to see Codemasters use the Dirt engine and produce a true WRC title.

  • @vampycardinal @simracingtonight don't press enter at the start of the game, press the start button on the wheel until you're in the main menu and you will have the same settings as the last time you played the game. At least this works for me.

  • I don't have any interest in this kind of racing but it's amazing that they can make a good racing game like this but you can't get a company do get a NASCAR game right.

I've said it before I wish Codemaster would make a NASCAR game.

  • The sound of voices was to low.

    Great show.

    Tks.

  • nice one daz :D

  • nice once daz :D

  • SO WHAT HIGH HP CARS DO YOU HAVE GENTLEMEN?! I really wanna know :)

  • Great stuff Shaun and Daz,lol. Cheers guys !

  • CM say that Dirt 3 has the most rally game in all dirt game...WRONG!!! Dirt 1 had Wayyyyy more rally races and it also had real rally championship with long tracks and damage that carrys over to the next race and u can do repairs between stages.

Dirt 3 is good but not what CM promised at all.

  • does anybody know why my ffb feels so bad with t500 rs ??

  • Awsome looking game. I going to get it for my pc . And wish i knew how too update the server for need for speed shift on my pc. Cause iv'e been wanting to play it on my pv online . but i can't for now. Can somone help plz.

  • @purplewolfpimp use cd key on steam. it has auto updates.

  • im so sad that its only 180 degrees of rotation on ps3 why not 900 degrees and i cant play online because the website is allways down people bin cracking the code to play online so im really sorry i got this game i cant ever play online COME ON wow back to gt5 i should have known that codemaster wold F me over :(

  • You didn't mention one of the big problems: input lag... I've hoped CM would do better than the devs of Shift II did, but there it is... you can see it very clearly on this particular video, whenever someone drives with a wheel (5:25 - 5:44). The in-car wheel is some 1/4s behind the actual wheel, same with gear shifts and pedals. So it's simply no fun with my G27...

  • I think you guys were too generous with the track score. The tracks are too short and really repetitive.

  • Ok, I am thinking of buying ONE game. I have these three on the list: F1 2010; GT 5; Dirt 3 all for the PC. I am a big fan of simulation not arcade racing. (hardcore LFS fan and racer). which one would be best for my money?

  • @vicbel if you mean Gran Turismo by GT 5, that would be PlayStation only... but you may get some great simulators like iRacing or rFactor on the PC, which all are may more realistic and demanding as both F1 2010 and DiRT3... I personally prefer iRacing because of their huge community, laser scanning, frequent updates and new content, ..., ...

    greez ppocket

  • Damn, you guys have major sound issues!

Every "section" has a different sound level and on top of that, the 2 channel mono is also quite odd.

A part of that, a nice review as ever and seems to be a great game.

One sidenote: you shouldnt put your serial number in a public video ;)

  • OK It's NOT RBR but it's by far the best Codemasters done for years !

  • Where is your guy's 100th episode of your full length show?

  • FANTASTIC review guys. you pretty much mirrored my thoughts about this game. now it's time for me to get back in the cockpit and get back at it!

  • Live for Speed is the best drifting game

  • This got me in the mood for some RBR

  • Great review as always, I fully agree with the results. Its a great sim and lots of fun!

  • Can you please

give an episode on your wheel settings for all 3 machines and major wheels out there.

  • Dear Polyphony Digital, this is how you do a game.

    thank you, sim racer.

  • ...graphic card but no!. It is the game itself cause i have a lot of games on my PC as: Crysis,Crysis 2, Metro 2033, Dirt 2, and many others with way graphics demanding as Dirt 3 and it not happens at all. There is a problem with the driver or with the game itself. I can run it but after a couple of minutes even without race the graphic card crashes. If anybody has this problem too just say it, i´m going to delete the game and reinstall it. Maybe it works. (downloaded on Steam)

  • ...(continue)...at least with Dirt 2 you move the wheel as in real life when you correct the way that you want to go with the wheel and gives you the feeling that (even being a mix with Arcade and Simulation cause it is) you are really driving a rally car. Dirt 3 is really good but i can´t feel comfortable as in Dirt 2 (cause it feels just easy without any assistance). Also after driver updates with my Gigabyte GTX560 ti OC the card crashes and now i can´t even play and i believe that was the...

  • I don´t know if some people is agree with my but in PC version (i have Dirt 2 and 3 for PC and the first for PS3) but the wheel and the feeling, the feedback is way better in Dirt 2 than Dirt 3. I mean it is good but (i have the G27) when you turn in the corners the car with a little movement of the wheel (too little movement) the cars just turn so fast and feels too easy. I´m playing without any help at all. I take off everything even ABS...ALL HELPS / AIDS OFF.And it just feels too easy....

  • Great review guys as always but on a separate note, do you think your GamePOD advert should be encouraging drink driving ;-), I've just noticed that.

  • Really disappointing that the Logitech wheels only have 180 degrees of rotation on the PS3. Does anyone know if this can be increased on the FANATEC Wheels? Also disappointing that they dropped the LAN support for hooking two or more PS3's together without the hassle of sharing an internet connection. DiRT 2 and every other codmasters game from the past was great for having LAN. Even the old PS2 games.

  • @YYZknot i've got the gt2 wheel, and that only has 180deg rotation too, not been able to increase either.

  • Save your settings on the G27 by hitting the bottom black button when it ask you to hit enter. the one that would be the "A" on a 360 or the "X" on PS3. Also, the same guy made the full-length crash mod on PC, its on RaceDepartment

  • I'm glad they've gone back to rally, and not stupid game types. Good review guys, awesome job.

  • the crashing montage starting at 11:32 was EPIC

  • Also, i noticed on the Gymkhana events, when you're doing the 360 drift areas, it has this annoying "sticky" feature that guides your drift into the circle, it feels a bit weird, I'm not sure if you noticed it, but try going at a bad angle and it auto corrects and puts you in the perfect circle if your near it.

  • @LaenPvP Turn off the Trick Steer options.

  • When you said you both have high horsepower cars, I'm curious what do you guys drive in real life for your daily driver and or weekend car?

    Thanks =)

  • @LaenPvP Shaun has a 1970 240 Z that's been converted and has a V8 in it.. Darin has a 1997 Camaro Z28 with a 6 speed that has over 400 bhp

  • @simracingtonight It would be nice if you could show us your cars, since they are obviously special. Maybe do a review of them or something, but I'm sure most of us would love to see them. Thanks.

  • @alxcsb My car (Darin) has actually made a few appearances on the show.. If you watch our STCC special there's a shot of me in it.. We also used it for a promo of our site about a year ago.. Thanks for wondering about them.. Maybe we'll take them both to the track sometime and do a piece on it. Also if you go to our forums, there's a thread titled What do you drive IRL.> It's under the General / Garage section.. If you can get to it.. THis is the promo of my car _eujT55yMpc#t=16m55s

  • @simracingtonight an LS series v8?

  • @simracingtonight proper cars...

  • @simracingtonight I cant believe you would destroy a 240z with a v8.

  • @simracingtonight is there car customization in D3? Like making your own livery for a team, like GRID? :s

  • Awesome review! I'm currently playing this game and it is alot of fun -- I'd definitely agree with alot of what you guys said.

  • Great review, spot on "Daz" lol! Just waiting for 120hz 3D BenQ to arrive today then I'm gonna crack on with season 2, seemed a shame to play the whole game before that turned up!

  • do you guys have problem with dirt net? i can't get the ghost cars to working.. this is on pc version... :(

  • make sure ( if you are playing with STEAM ) that your steam .exe file isn't launching in compatibility mode. Remove that setting, set it to launch as admin, save and run. Makes a huge difference. Also hitting "enter" at the beginning with the wheel fixes the wheel settings problem/ Totally agree with the review. Extremely fun....

  • I'm thinking of getting Dirt 2 because I like the X-Games factor...but I also like the Gymkhana events from this game...argh, I can't decide! haha.

  • @StingrayX5 I have both, and I'd recommend both but start with 3. The Gymkhana events are suprisingly fun...I didn't have high expectations because drifting always feels off in other racing games, but Codemasters figured out how to make it feel realistic. Mind you I play with a controller because I haven't got a wheel yet.

  • Something wrong or different with the sound? I had to crank up my volume to hear you guys talk and then the promos were loud... just thought you should know.

  • Good review, but a few things missing. You didn't talk about party modes at all, and they are great fun. And you didn't talk about how Codies are allowing the leaderboards to die a quick death due to cheaters and doing nothing. A real shame.

  • Where you guys on E3? If so, did you catch anything on WRC 2011? I heard Ubisoft or something took over the license? Or is it still Milestone developing?

  • Steam FTW

  • Lol they have not used my name (eric) one single time i think :P I agreed with every single thing btw xD

  • Lol they have not used my name (eric) one single time i think :P

  • Sorry, this is a bit off topic, but I see your comment about getting triple screen going. I'm curious to hear how that came about. I do not have Dirt3 yet, but the first think I thought of when hearing about this issue in your review, was that I had (have) the same issue in F1 2010. Specifically, if I choose the first patch from LIVE...I lose triple screen. If I don't install that first patch...triple screen works. I never got an answer in the F1 2010 Codemasters forums about this. Thanks. :)

  • Is it me, or have they been very hush hush on F1 2011 so far? Just wondering if you guys have heard anything about it yet?

(CM are probably scratching their heads as to what to do with the new tyres XD)

  • Thank you! I was debating whether to get it for console or PC. You just made that choice up for me :P

Oh, are you guys going to upload anything on that Fanatec CSR wheels?

  • one issue I have with my ps3 version and g27 wheel is : after the first tour race, my own setting of the wheel get lost. So I have to restart every second race for the settings to be back on...

by the way, I'm really upset that you PC player have the 900 degree and also the 360 with fanatec... DAM you ps3...

  • Watch my epic Crash

    watch?v=zPR2Z7Gez7c

  • Hey guys, Great review as always.

Just wondering how the physics compare with Dirt2? Improvements?

  • Does anybody know what is in the Power and glory DLC, and when does it come out.

  • Anyone got good settings for a G27 in this game? I got it on launch day and still can't find any settings I like.

  • Bad game, to grippy on gravel/dirt, to few stages (to much reruns) and short...

  • I like the Dirt series...

  • Have you guys tried the drift mod for rfactor? Can't see you complaining about that drift game.

  • I've not played any of the Dirt games, but I have to get this one I see. Great review, looking forward to getting this game :)

  • The bald guy is kind of sketchy.

  • Strange having one completely on the left and the other completely on the right when both are on screen. Yes, I complain a lot, I know :P But it's only because I love this show :) \o/

  • The one thing I disliked about this game was the poor climatic effects on the windshield.

  • They should put Isle of Man with 8 or more minutes stages (it is the Nurburgring for rally cars). I love to see the videos of Ari Vatanen in there. It will be amazing. And as in Dirt (1) they should put real world championship. WRC again. And Slalom competition.

  • Where you guys able to keep your wheel settings saved on PC? Everytime I go back into the game it sets my controls back to keyboard settings.

  • @vampycardinal same here

  • @vampycardinal On one of our PCs yes.. We got the AMD Triple screen system running now too, but it doesn't save wheel settings.

  • @simracingtonight Workaround - Set your wheel and on the next start use the button mapped for accepting dialogs and what not on your wheel to enter the game when it says press start.

  • @simracingtonight There is a fix you got to change the priority of the controllers in a file in the game directory, google it :)

  • @simracingtonight On the opening screens when it says enter or something along lines of that, dont use the keyboard. As it reverts back to the keyboard settings.

On a G25/ G27 use the 3rd RED button from the left, not entrirely sure on other wheels but hit all your wheel buttons before the keyboard.

  • @simracingtonight I'm also having wheel setting save issues, I hope this is patched soon.

  • @vampycardinal Use the buttons on your steeringwheel to start the game instead of using the keyboard. Then it wil remember all the settings.

  • @vampycardinal On a DFGT you have to press X at the "press any button" screen and it will keep the settings, not sure about other wheels.

  • Good you mentioned Live! That is the virus of Windows PC games, the issues to even make Dirt 2 play ball was bad enough.

If they want to level up the game, they should give MS the finger and code their OWN solution.

Games for windows Live is buggy, always have and always will, it is a Microsoft product.

Unless MS changes their philosophy and totally restructures from the beginning, this will plague ALL of their products.

  • Great review for a great game. A gripe I have, and it seems to be becoming a trend for racing games in general, is that some cars are only unlock-able via DLC which seems to be the case with the first scheduled Dirt 3 DLC.

Also it would be nice to include some longer rally stages and to carry over some damage in the Multi-stage rally events. Other than that this game is dope, and the Gymkhana events have been surprisingly fun.

  • 100% agree with the review. My number 1 gripe is the rally stages... how they reuse sections way too often, and how stages are too short ("long stages" are just the 2-3 short stages stapled together). But I do love the game, lots of fun.

  • Turn Shaun Cole's mic up or have him talk louder. I can barely hear him.

  • Get your named changed you drama queen...sheesh mention it in every video why don't ya. :D

  • Hardcore on Multiplayer :o, i was looking for that! Thank god Dirt 3 has that option, i unfortunately dont have the game.

  • You should seriously consider turning off separate left and right audio. Stick to stereo :P

  • I freaking hate gymkaka and all the drifting "races" in games. They ruined many games for me.

Are the gymkaka races necessary to play the game or you can skip them?

The main reason though I haven't bought the game yet, the length of the Rally stages. WTF Codemasters, WTF? 2minute stages, FFS. Just let Dirt to deal with all the "cool" and "hot" or whatever you (CM) think is what people want, and make another game series with just proper Rally! I am not asking for perfect physics, but, FFS!

  • I'm doing just fine in Season 3 on difficulty 5. I must just be amazing.

  • Are you guys gonna review WRC 2010 on xbox360/PS3

  • I bought Codemasters Colin McRae Rally 1,2,3,4, then i boght PS3 just to play Colin McRae DIRT and that was a big mistake. I spend almoste 500€ to play game which can not be compared to old Codemasters rallys. I am totally disappointed with Codemaster, because don´t care about old fans.

  • @nepalihercules Man you are a gentleman and a scholar. You read my mind

  • @Revenunt

Courtesy of Michael Gary Scott :D.

  • Yea, that left turn thing on the wheel for every point is VERY annoying. Please fix it Codemasters!

  • Good Review. BUT a video without Jessica is not a video at all :( LOL

  • @ARCHERLM Go watch porn instead! We are here to watch about simracing, not having our pants down and jack off.

  • @Nefus1988 LOL. I did say it was a good review to LOL :)

  • @nepalihercules Man you are a disgrace to this community.

  • WTF? only 180° on PS3 version? I have driving force GT... fck :-/

  • i like the game but i would have loved it if it had more of the old school colin mcrae games .. like a full wrc championship with some real stages

  • they should test the wrc game from black bean, i wonder how that would compare to dirt 3.

  • @red912e they already have

  • @red912e We did last year

  • @simracingtonight well then i have some archive lookin' to do! thank you guys.

  • @red912e Did that have a North America release?

  • @MrAeroHD no it did not, but why would srt keep it to just america?

  • @red912e I was interested in buying it, but couldn't find it anywhere ;p

  • i agree to most of your pro/cons

    great review *thumps up*

  • most fun driving game ever in my opinion

  • it would be cool if we add this graphics on sim games like RBR and rfactor

or just put the RBR stages on dirt 3 because those wide and short stages are to easy.

and why they dont put all of the stages from the older Mcrae games and on the the newest games?

just updating the game insted of doing a new one.

in that way they dont need to spend money on CDs.

  • forza 4 interviews?

  • thats right... longer stages!! plus make it a little bit tighter next time :)

  • Its a piss take having to buy more cars...

  • Honestly, Level 5 is still like Season 1 after Season 4. But thats just me.

  • Dirt 3 is simply epic I know the stages are to short but I'm sure codies will give us longer ones.

    Its an epic game!

  • iRacing NTM video plx.

  • @SchoolofLuke not out until the 21st

  • first

  • does anyone know what game thats in the intro, the one with a trophy truck turning left off a bridge around 00:23

  • @myPETsnailFRED Rfactor...

  • @esoterik45 Thank you!

  • any news about Grid 2?

  • Epic game...online is one of the best features you guys barely touched on it...
