The idea of a Christian sharing their supposed encounter with god with a non-Christian is that it doesn't change the fact that the non-Christian has never had an encounter with god. If the Christian god was really all-loving, then everyone would have a story about an encounter with him and there would be no doubt. Apparently if the Christian god does exist, then he plays favorites, a practice that should be beneath an all-loving god.

Maybe people aren't going to church because people grow up faster, so they don't feel the needs for imaginary friends too long into their lives, much less a professional translator for such imaginary friends. And the moral authority is lost by the church as soon as anyone realizes the kind of corruption, crimes, etc, that clergy participate in. Many don't even believe, but pretend to, so as not to hurt older family members' feelings. Religion uses shame, threats, and false hope for power.

I have to say, many christians are trying to find there way, some have know more than others and some are on a baby level in their understanding. But one thing is for sure, Jesus, and the Bible. I didn't grow up in church, but Jesus spoke to me, at home alone, and told me to give my life to Him, I did, and He changed my life. He is awesome, and the only way to God. Repent and ask Him to be Lord of your life. You'll be glad you did.

Only true and perfect, unconditional love come your Heavenly Father, the creator of the heavens and the earth. Well, flpete. Many people read about God, and hear about God, but it is another thing to know God personally. Although i do go to church, i just began to read the Holy Bible, and pray to God that he would show me who he is if he is real. Don't care about what other people think, because the truth is is that no one will seek God unless you do it yourself. Just say: "God, if your real, then i want to know you."
