  • hey man how much do you want to do that to mine? I'll pay let know. thanks

  • i am going to do the same thing for my next build thanks for the awsome idea!

  • armalite disliked this video

  • That vice is fucking up your shigt.. Use some wood or something..

  • Mr. AO, did you not watch the whole video? There's 3 pins that you tap out to slide the gas block sight off the barrel.

  • I want to chop my front sight off just like this. How do I remove the whole gas block from the barrel so I can work on the sight without the barrel? Awesome channel by the way. Thanks

  • you need a new videographer

  • Wow, you made that look really easy. Nice job... looks sweet.

  • Man, you are a master gunsmith... GREAT JOB

  • Is that a 16" barrel? I am buying a new ar15 and want the vtac rail but don't know which size to get.

  • nice vid but wont the constant heat applied from the grinder affect the steel strengh

  • @sandman481000

not in the short time it was used for this project

  • Do you think a hack saw and a file would do the job? I do not want to half ass it but also don't mind breaking a sweat so i can save save some flow and put it toward other accessories ...or should i go a head and buy for an angle grinder or Dremel

    thanks!

  • 4" angle grinder? glad to see we are using precision tools for this task.

  • @marin3snip3rs

only a fool uses a 400mm glass beaker to shovel horse crap

  • @marin3snip3rs What's wrong with using a angle grinder? Would you rather have him use a plasma cutter or chop saw? The grinder is used to remove as much material as possible and some of the finest gunsmithing and craftsmanship is done not using precision tools but by using your hands and eyes! Ever see how they make a Holland&Holland Double rifle?

  • @marin3snip3rs Aside from using CNC what would u have recommended?

  • Do you need to cut off the bayonet lug and sling swivel attachment area if the rail doesn't go past the gas block area?

  • @squee116

depends if it will fit through the rail, and / or when you install it

  • @GunWebsites It's a 12" DD M4 rail on a rifle length gas system on a 20" barrel

  • Excellent video, excellent job of the cameraman, THANK YOU for posting it!!!

  • i want that work bench. omg its amazing compared to mine :/

  • How do you know when the gas port lines up on the barrel? Did I miss that in the vid?

  • do you sell those already made :)

  • using those machines are hard.

  • If you own a drill press, make the dimples yourself in the barrel to fit the locking cap screws. I have a AR-CAR16 and it gets hotern hell! the loctite still holding just fine after 6000 rounds!

  • Its cool to see gunsmithing like this. My only problem is no guard on the grinder or side handle. The injuries that can happen from the 10,000 rpms when a blade shatters can be life changing or ending.

  • I don't know if this is a good place to ask this but I've looked around the internet and couldn't find anything else on the subject, so I might as well ask here. I recently bought a carbine-length AR-15. Problem is, I'd like to put some triangular Vietnam-era grips on it, and the best way I thought I'd do that, rather than buying a rifle length barrel, a whole new gas system, etc., is to see if a low-pro gas block would fit under those handguards. Any advice?

  • nice editting,

  • Can you You work on my upper? If to please inbox me a price for a 12" free float on a 16" M&P barrel

  • What kind of stainless steel crush washer are you using in this video?

  • I've seen this guy in a number of videos. Is he a professional gunsmith or a skilled amateur?

  • thanks naenaesman!

  • Thanks for the video. I didnt want a screw on gas block that may fail when i am in a "situation." I enjoy doing my own improvements. I will be using your video as an instruction on my rifle.

  • @jlsibal Thats why they make cleaning kits. The longer rail makes for a better handling AR. The further out your support hand is the better control you have.

  • what is the rail you are attaching to the upper?

  • Hey It is a crap load of rail but I like the way you did it. Yeah I've used my regular mil spec quad rails in theater for years but he is on point with the nut torqued set screw gas block F'n you up. Also, Tru Lock-tight don't stand a chance. I'm building a custom job now but my manufacturer has a pre- set flat top gas block with a bayonet lug. It's rather pimp......

  • @mrtruthify also gives a longer sight radius for the BUIS

  • Alot of ppl these days are going for a longer rail mainly to get that reaction (weak) hand further out taward the muzzle for better handeling of the weapon, faster target to target accuasition, less fatigue on the reaction side!, less oversway, not to mention more versital with ur standard accessorys such as light, lazers, optics, tourches!! You kno what they say!!!!!!......... Different strokes for different folks!!

  • great thinking!taper pins are much more reliable than those 'set screw'allen screws that seem to be on everything these days!

  • @mrtruthify this seams to be a great diy video but all you have shown me is your douchebaggery

  • @kalashnikovOperator then why did you sit through almost a half hour of video?? No one wants to read you meaningless comments asshole!!!

  • @naenaesman kill your self faggot

  • @kalashnikovOperator awww is your pussy swelled up little boy?? fuck your kalashnikov asshole we own AR's in this country faggot!!! This isnt COD and spray and pray wont get you a win little boy

  • @naenaesman shut up faggot i have a bushmaster

  • @mrtruthify Don't forget about weaponlights. Multiple sighting systems, many use a high powered variable scope on the top rail, which are useless for CQB, with a small red dot (like a Aimpoint T1, etc) or folding sights at a offset. More forward of a grip equals a more stable rifle. Bipods. Should I continue? Think outside of your box...

  • I thought stock bases were aloy?

  • I thought stock bases were aloy?

  • @mrtruthify its not longer jus because of a need to place multiple items on the same rail, its mainly for a more comfortable grip, plus it shrouds the gas system, what if i wanted to knock your front sight off with a hammer, your rifle wouldnt work anymore., that cant happen on this system, the gasblock is protected., what if i wanna run a inline night sight, try gettin one of them on a carbine rail with a 1x4 power rifle scope.,JUST because YOU dont need one DOESNT mean I dont NEED one..

  • @MultiSr16

    Award winning answer, thanks !

  • @MultiSr16

Indeed.. and I say the same thing to your hostility.. Upon closer inspection.. I clearly stated MY comment was MY opinion. Perhaps you cannot interpret standard online shorthand?

If you don't like people having free opinions & conversing (communicating is what animals do.. sheep can communicate.. insects can communicate.. human beings can share INDEPENDENT concepts.. aka CONVERS).. perhaps a country (Corporation) like China or Soudi Arabia might suit your passions better?

  • @MultiSr16

I've mounted dozens of NVD's with optics of many sizes on 7" rails. I don't see a valid point here?

Are you talking about older generation NVD's? Most SOTA NVD equipment are smaller than your average CQB optic now.

However.. are there extreemely long optics combo's that can't mount on a 7".. I'm sure there are.. how often do you see them? And why would you need ANY optics like those on the 5.56 platform anyway? glass like that 'out shoots' the 5.56 by any measure.

  • @mrtruthify no nothin special really., just talkin about block 2 night vision., like say the an-pvs26 and a elcan., thats gonna be a tough fit on a carbine length rail with a buis,, ive shot both, carbine length rails and rifle length rails on short guns, and its much nicer using the rifle length., thats why im sure all the block 2 upgrades are longer rails like the video shows., but hey compared to an expert like you, whats the army know.,plus your wife said she likes my 12 inch over your 7"fag

  • would all this be avoided if I bought an Optics ready carbine that had a chopped front sight on it?

  • @x777jonny777x as long as the gas block is secured with roll pins and not screws you should be fine

  • @GunWebsites------- sup guys?! I have a question and i trust in your guys knowledge!! I have a Bushmaster 14.5 inch , fixed carryhandle upper with a pinned and welded phanton flashhider, i just ordered a stripped Yankeehill flattop upper reciever, is it possible for me to swap the 14.5 barrel over to the Yankeehill flattop without removing the pinned flashider? I have a upper block, vise, and ar tool! Thanks guys , love the vidz!!

  • nice bench/workspace.. seen it in a couple vids>>>YOURS>?

  • @MultiSr16

One we have access to for vids.. you'll see it again soon !!

  • Awesome vid, thanks

  • sweet vid, so they dont make gas blocks that accept pins????

  • Great job! U think alot of gun smiths do this??

  • this is a good idea.

  • Very nice job and would never know it was modified. learned a lot and might try this my self could save me some money and at a personal touch to my gun.

  • Do you know if the osprey piston kit would work on this rail?

  • I want to have your baby

  • I actually like that it is that long and that you include the filming of every step, often tiny details that are needed are lost in edited videos. at least when talking about build/DIY videos. this video has made me think about modding a FSB to get the stability of the tapered pins. right now I have a lowpro GB with screws, and this video makes me wonder if it would stand the stress of a 3day carbine course. interesting. again great video, and I would love to see more "build" or "modding" videos

  • excellent video, maybe inspiration for my next build. could we see some video of this upper in action at the range?

  • @R0GUEKN1GHT

I think we could.. let me bug him about it

  • @GunWebsites And FYI.. just grind from the SIDE.. the hammering and under cut are counter intuitive also.

A simple cut from the side (3-9 O-clock) acomplishes the same thing in a single cut, with half the effort.

touch up the top and front (12 O-clock/muzzle end of the sight) as needed.

    ;)

  • You guys truly make the best videos but i cant stand to watch a video for 28:55 it gets boring but damn you guys really make good videos

  • @deltaforce76859rules

You only had to watch it once.. (or less)

Imagine filming it , then editing it, then waiting around for it to render and upload..

I've seen each video at least three or four times.. the long ones are .. well long

  • @GunWebsites is the black magic thing like paint?

  • @deltaforce76859rules There are parts you can skip, just fast forward thru the grinding and it turns into a 10 min video

  • Awesome freakin MOD!!!!!!! Thanks guys.. Im gonna have to try this one..

Question.. I have Bushmaster ORC 16" carbine.. Will a rifle length rail fit?

  • nice work thanks

  • Great Vid thanks for posting

  • A twenty dollar angle grinder from the pawn shop never looked like such a good idea, till now. Lol.

    Great video.

  • nice and perfect timing i was just going to order a low profile gas block so i wouldnt have the front sight in my scop picture but this would work so much better.

  • you should put the guard on that grinder. my uncil had a zip cut expload and a peice of it cut his stomach open.

  • Gunwebsites does this guy sell these modded gas blocks, because in all honesty I'd FUBAR it so bad it wouldnt be funny. And I'd probably end up pissed off lol thanks for the video its amazing!

  • @nowthisisstupid

    I don't think so

  • @GunWebsites well if he ever felt like selling modded a2 front sight posts i would buy one. i dont have a steady enough hand to do this, and even if i did i would not buy the vise angle grinder and dremile to just do 3 of them for my builds i plan on doing in the near future.

  • @nowthisisstupid The point of the mod is to not have to buy anything. If you want something like this, check out Daniel Defense's low profile gas block. It pins in place like the factory F-marked base, rather than set screwing, and usually even covers the scars and unfinished barrell under the factory base.

  • he dude, the bear shit in the buckwheat...

  • @drivepro OMG where??? lol

  • Omg, STFU!!! "O.S.H.A is going to have a field day" nooksolo go find your donkey and rape it! I am sure this dude doesn't need anyone telling him where the bear shit in the buckwheat! Fuck off trolls!!!

  • good vid, there isnt anything worst than shooting your ar and the gas block comes loose and turns your semi auto into a singleshot

  • O.S.H.A. is going to have a field day with you. no guard on the grinder

  • @nooksolo LOL... OSHA.. Ohh noes!!

  • lol, hopefully the camera man was wearing a face sheild!! Nice project though!

  • @datsun2401972

nope, I killed that camera doing that.. this video cost $250, LOL

  • @GunWebsites atleast it was only your digital eye..

  • Thanks!

These gunsmithing videos are my favorite feature of your channel!

  • lmao i need a vice, i always need one and dont have one. xD

  • just buy the hk416 upper kit ;-)

  • @weeeds334

    ?? why

  • How long is the barrel of this rifle in this video?

  • @matt4macs looks like an 11.5''

  • Pretty handy with that grinder. I would probably do my finishing work with a dremmel tool. It might take a bit longer, but I can get close to my work. Great video!

  • good job guys

  • Would have liked to see it attached to a lower.

    Keep up the good job.

  • good vid but u zoom in too close some times and it looks like shit but i enjoyed the vud

  • Cool, nice informative video.

  • That is ironic you guys made this video I just ordered a trx extreme 11 and was debating doing this or using a low pro gas block. Great video

  • It seems really usefull

  • nice video guys. love the good work. me like.

  • could i use cold blue for a blade on a knife to make it dark

  • @imachku

I don't think so unless it was bare metal.. and it won't work on all metals, but that would be a better question to a knife expert (which I'm not)

  • Thumbs Up and a Click!

  • you could do it quite well with a $10 hack saw and some sandpaper would probably take about one-two hour, they just use a grinder because they have one.

To do it on the cheap i would cut the main parts off with a hack saw, file off all the edges, give it a little sand. if you didn't have the metal dye you could just use black engine enamel just don't paint inside the rings.

  • quite the craftsman

  • cool!

  • Cool vid guys, this pretty much comfirms that I won't be attempting this on my own. As I'm not quite that skilled. ;)

    rock on

    colt

  • Reminds me of the dentists.
