  • Congrats on your large cent.ive been doing this for 4 years and only have 2 myself.the PT pin is great find.probably belonged to a WWII Navy man.

  • This site has not given up all its secrets yet, that's for sure.

  • good video, a real joy to watch........

  • Oh boy have you got the bug for this hobby now, Another great vid. Dig a hole and money comes out .

  • This was the video I did when my camera broke down so there is no proper beginning or end. I'm hoping to get back there on tuesday, although I may also have a look to the small paddock near Bywell in my quest for hammered silver....

I thought the George II silver 2d was roman silver but I wasn't upset that it turned out not to be.

Between now and the end of the year there will be some serious detecting done, possibly starting tonight as I don't want to suffer the X factor.

  • Nice vid, good to see your still finding time to go out and find "hidden treasures" keep the vids coming m8. Graham.

  • I love the look of the silver coins, even when you're fresh pulling them out of the dirt.

  • You can check if there are any local byelaws specific to detecting with your lolcal council as the last thing you want is some jobsworth coming over accusing you of criminal damage.

  • @pondguru hey ive got a 1646 newark coin eny idea how much it is? wurth

  • Have a look on ebay. That's what I generally do although I have a spink UK coin book anything is only worth what people are willing to pay.

  • Thanks for the advice. How do I find the legal info on this ? How do I know am allowed to do so in a public park? Never seen people metal detect there before and the park rangers look scary lol. The parks been around for a couple hundred years and its literally down the road from the old wool factory. (Further reading shows it was the biggest wool manufacturer in the world at one point).

Could be a good spot :D

  • What are the best places to find this sorta stuff?

I live in a city that was common for making wool in the old days. Don't suppose that helps me lol.

  • There would have been some proper money about when the wool mills were in operation so try and locate the place where people used to go. Riverbanks, parks, fields etc. If you can get books on local history or search the internet you will find places to go, no worries.

  • very nice !

Don't suppose any were worth alot ?

  • Not really old enough to be worth antyhing unfortunately. Victorian and further back would be worth something meaningful.

  • Those coins kept on coming. Congratulations on locating all those beautiful finds. From what you say, you've done a nice spot of research on that site which helped you to get so many classic coins lost during outdoor events. GL & HH :D

  • good chance of a gold on tht field well done with all those coins

  • I would love to think I'd find gold but I'm not holding my breath. lol.

    Thanks for watching.

  • plenty of targets there,,,great video

  • Great video and very nice silver finds GL. HH

  • nice hunt mate ...how come so many coins on the field check.. my gold coin out on my vids

  • It was used by the army, scouts and boys brigade for about 50 years from early 1900's for camping events. Thanks for watching.

Your gold sovreign is awesome. I've not found any gold yet, or even hammered but I do 99% of my hunts in pasture which has never been turned over so there's no suprise the hammered haven't shown yet,
