I'll never forget watching this fight. Many people think Hagler-Hearns is the best fight ever, but this one has my vote. Back and forth with tons of heart from both fighters. There shouldn't have been a loser in this fight.

Also like Merchant reminded us all bout Leonard vs Hearns... they were both dead tired and Hearns had battered Leonard and was WAY ahead on points, yet Leonard pulled it out of nowhere and TKO'd Hearns (who was out of gas, nothing to do with Ray's 'Power')

Well, Panama is a mixologist, he actually mixed water with water, and by the way an ejection would take effect in 10 seconds or less. Who knows what he drank before they left the locker room, and just kept adding on thru out the fight.

@cartagenaucme but louis resto has been lying about not knowing bout the gloves for 25 years and all of a sudden he "admits" (he's a broke motherfucker mind you, and remember the guy doing the documentary kept paying BOTH Panama and Resto to film them..) the gloves stuff and then the asthma tablets... think about it.. he already did the time, and he needed money.. he had nothing to lose by lieing even more. I don't believe everything Resto says. Either way, Pryor woulda won without the bottle.

@cartagenaucme Yes, I agree wholeheartedly that Panama is a fuckface and has 0 loyalty to his fighters (i.e. cheering on Cotto who is beating the snot out of Zab, who had been trained by Panama for this fight) BUT I still think Pryor didn't NEED the bottle to WIN: He was a monster with or without that bottle.

There's no way a substance could be effective in such a shord time. Eventhough he is moving, at least 15 minutes are needed for a substance to take effect. Even injection wouldnt be effective in 10 seconds, you need at least 5 to 10 minutes in that case. So acusing Aaron Pryor of taking stimulants is absolutely senseless.

The only way Pryor could had been defeat would had been by bigger men . As a solid welterweights with a good punch like Leonard, Hearns, Duran Even Donald Curry. Everybody will agree that Leonard , Hearns and Curry and Duran had better punching power at welter than Arguello. And Leonard was super fast combination puncher.

The first time i seen that the winner did not was announced and the time by the tko. And Arguello was not interviewed as well. He was out for 4 minutes. Any way i'd new Pryor had a good chin but yes it was suspicious how he was tired at the end of the 12th and 13th rounds and suddenly looks like as fresh as the first round in the 14th round when he ko Arguello. In the rematch Arguello was never the same this fight took a lot out of him
