  • In mississippi the buses are set at 57 but we have a couple of new 2009 or 10 internationals and they go i think about 60-65, but we mainly have 1998-2001 internationals with like over 100,000 miles most of them has over 150,000 but the old ones are so much better then the new ones our 2010 international that had less then 13,000 had to have a new computer!

  • We've had many Thomas C2s that have had things done to them computer wise and costed us a couple of grand each and every time. None of the ICs we have did this, though. What was wrong with the computer?

Most of our buses are set at 70 or higher. I think the highest is 85, or 96 from what I was "told", to the slowest one being 64.

  • Our FE was a 2005 and the problem we had, weekly was that it would not go faster than 40 and it took about 3 miles to get up to that speed. It had to have the computer replaced, costing $17k. Same problem with a 2002 IC CE I rode for 4 years. And that CE leaked fuel, oil, trans, and power steering fluid all at once and they kept giving it back to us. Finally they repaired it, we were on a Spare 1998 Crown/Intern. for 2 months. 121 (the 02 IC CE) still continually breaks down today and the same

  • That's a pretty penny, lol. That's weird it had so many problems. All of our ICs have had minor issues. None have had anything major like that. What kind of engine did that International Crown have in it?

  • My bus (last year) #04 always seemed to have an acceleration problem. About twice a week the bus would just be soooo slow! You can hold it to the floor for 5 minutes and it wouldn't even get to 40. The computer was malfunctioning. You would have to pull over, cut the bus off, restart it, back up 5 feet, put it in "N" and cut it off, the start up and it would work, however, that gets annoying. It left us on the side of the road MULTIPLE times, but the 98 and 01 Thomas EF's never left us stranded

  • That's pretty weird. What was it in the computer that did that? That's strange. How did the engine and transmission react, or act period?

  • Y'all are allowed to go 67 wherever you are? In Florida the max is 55. Our buses are set at 57, some at 60, others at 62-67. I had one, like two years ago, it was a 99 Thomas Saf-T-Liner EF and the driver said it went 82 when she was alone...but it leaked oil everywhere. Our 2004 IC FE broke down constantly! Piece of shit.

  • Actually, we can go however fast the bus will let you go and how safe you feel. I've been on an All American doing 86 before; still had cars and truckers flying past us.

All of us would hate doing 55, lol. My IC CE will only do 65, but we have others that will do 70-75. C2s that will do 70-85. Depends on how my TD specs them.

Why did it break down a lot? Ours doesn't really. They just don't care for it.

  • LOL I just noticed the same thing one of the other people who commented did! She's not wearing her seat belt!! I cracked up when I realized it!

  • Lol, you're so right. When we got back on, she didn't think nothing of it. I was showing her the controls and stuff and we didn't think of it.

  • I'd MUCH rather have that All American FE as a route bus than an IC FE. The All American is way tougher than an IC !

  • Lol, I'll dispute that, but to each his own. I love the All American as a sub bus, but the IC FE as a route bus. To me, and several people around here, our Internationals are much stronger than any other bus in the lot. Also, they are very driver friendly.

  • what happen to mrs. shirley

  • She went to a different route.

  • just realzied that she aint wearing a seat belt lol

  • That's a first for her, lol. I noticed it, but oh well, lol.

  • good video, love the all americans

  • Thanks. I was just recording her drive that bus. She was epically pissed and it was funny. I miss them and I love them, too.

  • the interstate its I40 isnt it I have been on I640 and I40 both when I go to vacation in pigeon forge when I go we start out in kentucky on I75 south we get into TN we go to I640 then on to I40

  • Yes it is. Cool, I love Gatlinburg and I'll be up there in about two months for the FFA in a C2 :P

  • @9sb19 hey jerred I know you said you would make some vids of a C2 when your friends mom got bus 68 but theres not anyway you could do a couple when you go on the FFA trip is there I love gatlinburg and pigeon forge

  • 67!!! school are only allowed to

    go 55mph lol...she be rollin

  • We actually have some that will do 85 or slightly more, lol. That would suck! My highway has truckers and cars going over 55, everyday.

  • @9sb19 I made a new channel and account.

  • Aight, cool.

  • Those 2001 ISBs are the best ones IMO. I don't know how the 2002s sound from the inside, but the 2000s aren't as nice as the 2001s. What I like is when they're at 2/3 to 3/4 throttle, then the driver slowly eases off the accelerator.

  • That is when they sound their best, too. I love just to hear them being fully floored. I love hearing them!

  • Sounds like the brakes need adjusted.

  • That and the previous driver who only had a town route, wore them down and no one had replaced them.

  • Love the sound of that Cummins.. the bit I can hear of it anyway. Sounds like your camera is losing its audio quality

  • Since been replaced. I have a new video camera that I'm going to upload its videos. I'll still use that camera as a picture one, though. Unless I decide, lol.

I love that engine, too. Sorry about that.

  • We rode on one similar to this one. Except I think it was an International. It was originally a normal school bus, but it was redesigned to fit a handicapped bus.

  • I hate it when they change them like that. How did you like it?

  • @9sb19 Well, it is kind of suprising when one day you're riding on a 2009 CE 300, and the next day a 2000 3800 t44e.

  • I would be mad as everything, lol.

Reminds me of when we first got my IC CE. My old driver some how let the battery die over the weekend and on Monday morning we were back to the old Thomas Ford. I was like, dang.. we got to share the bus. But then I got told about the battery and I was laughing.
