Lulu wa a very good pop singer. Although her image was a long way from Bowie's it was a smart move for both of them Lulu popularised a song known only to Bowie aficionados and got some reflected street cred, Bowie got royalties he could never have dreamt of from the song in a surprisingly good version.

Not only did Bowie produce this Lulu version - he is singing the backing vocals. This is the version that he and Lulu recorded together - she is mining here as are the other muscians. A good version though - I bought the original single and played it repeatedly (aged about 15).
