Great concept ace,but when i drag a sample into sytrus it plays a preset instrument.Is there anyway i can drop my own sample replacing .a preset instument? I know the vst harmor which comes with fl10 dose this,but th effects are much more difficult than the matrix grid on sytrus.
When I press the ''Save audio clipboard to browser'', an error pops up and says that it can't create it because it can't find the directory. And there really isn't ....so what do I do? Help me, someone?

@dav1nl33 thats easy just click on the sample and the channel settings will open, look for where it says the word "loop" its a lil bit above the middle, underneath it says use loop points, if you got that checked then just uncheck it
@linkinparkMikeShinod I see exactly what you're talking about...& I unchecked it but it's still happening, & it isn't only with samples, it happens with everything, snares, kicks, drums...like when I open the view playlist thing i can put a part where there should be no sound...like the beat is supposed to drop(quit) but it still goes on and on and loops itself continuously even after i uncheck use loop points on everything
@dav1nl33 I've noticed that it only does that when I'm using the 1-bar overdub recording Edison Mixer thing...but that's the only way I know how to sample...is there another way to sample because when I use 1 bar overdub I'm having the problems i'm telling you about currently and i don't have a clue how to fix it...So basically what I'm saying is I need another way to sample besides Edison unless I can find a way to fix the problem Edison is causing

One of the largest issues I have had with FL Studio recently that Digital Performer, Ableton Live, Cubase, Nuendo, etc, etc... are able to resolve is their "Audio Quantizing" abilities. I really feel that this ability is what can strongly separate or even give these programs a winning edge. Do you think that the SliceX / Edison is FL Studio's answer to this dilemma?

use the "EDISON" plugin. It goes onto a mixer insert. It's brilliant. All you need is a mic and to route the mic to that insert. You will probably see a box that says "not connected" at the top of the mixer. Change that.

I've done a small bit of sampling, which I used for certain melodies in FL Studio 8. I used Audacity, because it's free (there are much better programs out there).
how do i get sytrus to play the extracted slice when i hit a midi key? cos all i get is hi pitched noise and it's not even the slice i dropped into sytrus

Ace, I have a question, how did you get your mic levels even? Every time I try to record my kids singing it only gives me levels on the left but not the right I always have to pan more right before they start singing? Mic's are Mono, bro! To make it into a stereo track, you'll find a knob on the mixer insert just above the "Panning" on the right side, called "Stereo Separation". Turn it to 100% Merged, and you will now have a L/R track.
It's not like acid with the beat mapper is it? I have tried to stretch it in FL, but jack it up everytime. So I end up putting the sample in Beat mapper in Acid Pro then transfering the file to FL. is there a tutorial that show the best way to time stretch?

good tutorial man , same reason i always use FL is because its so quick & efficient to use in nearly every aspect.
In Edison u can also set markers(slices) for your samples & drag them into FL Slicer & the markers u made should appear in the Fl slicer, also u can drag samples out of edison if u click & drag the very end button on the right of edison. :P

I'm getting more experimental in the Drum&Bass genre, now that I can say I've actually heard some good D&B. They love it out here and it's getting into my blood as well. Mostly, it's given me the room to breathe. I don't feel threatened or crowded out here, either by politics or people. That's the real difference. It allows me to... forget.
My later songs seem to be wistful, perhaps, because of it.

time stretch or pitch your"sample"--im guessing it has a different beats per minute than your song- to match your song tempo-

your pretty good ACE! I play guitar and I been tryin to be the one man band. I need to know how to get the drums sounding like metal and sound realistic. I got addictive drums but I need bass lines to any suggestions on this quest? If u know where I can get full drum tracks for metal or rock let me know I need them!

Ace, I have a question, how did you get your mic levels even? Every time I try to record my kids singing it only gives me levels on the left but not the right I always have to pan more right before they start singing? I don't have a very expensive mic but I have a really good pre amp Joe Meek MQ3...could you give me a bit of direction? Much appreciated

Mic's are Mono, bro! To make it into a stereo track, you'll find a knob on the mixer insert just above the "Panning" on the right side, called "Stereo Separation". Turn it to 100% Merged, and you will now have a L/R track.

It's not like acid with the beat mapper is it? I have tried to stretch it in FL, but jack it up everytime. So I end up putting the sample in Beat mapper in Acid Pro then transfering the file to FL. is there a tutorial that show the best way to time stretch?

good tutorial man , same reason i always use FL is because its so quick & efficient to use in nearly every aspect.
In Edison u can also set markers(slices) for your samples & drag them into FL Slicer & the markers u made should appear in the Fl slicer, also u can drag samples out of edison if u click & drag the very end button on the right of edison. :P

I'm getting more experimental in the Drum&Bass genre, now that I can say I've actually heard some good D&B. They love it out here and it's getting into my blood as well. Mostly, it's given me the room to breathe. I don't feel threatened or crowded out here, either by politics or people. That's the real difference. It allows me to... forget.
My later songs seem to be wistful, perhaps, because of it.
