  • Why doesn't these videos have more views? They're awesome game reviews and i actually prefer them to reviewers such as IrateGamer and AVGN.

  • Lol the car is dancin!

  • i want that music for a ring tone.

  • @williejack2 Ditto XD

  • this looks pretty good for it's time. and the car looks like it's walking in such a cute way.

  • @todpolle I know, it almost looks like it has lots of little feet.

  • Coleco vision is greater than atari version.

  • i was playing this when i was 2.

  • ¡¡oh my god!!,the wonder years(not the serie)i missing,the days when playing my atari 2600,in house of my parents.thanks,for the video.the good games...never dies!!!. :D

  • That rover can fucking groove.

  • you should try to listen to the Atari 800 XL version.... the music is engraved in my brain it is way more awesome than the Atari 2600

  • Holy crap! This was the VERY first video game I ever played in my life. (I was about 4 or 5 at the time.) It's cool to see someone do a decent piece on it.

  • Yeah great catchy tune. I remember this game, I infact played it not too long ago on my Atari 7800.

  • dang this takes me back lol i was not even born at the time i was born with nintendos

  • your videos are awesome screwattack ftw.

  • YES! Someone who finally gets it about the Atari 2600 Moon Patrol! I am not alone!

  • Just found your videos.. I like them.. I think I may have to Sub...! ;o)

PS - Check out my Speccy Reviews!

  • 5200 version was my favorite game@

  • for a one minute short beginning and end credits seem a little unnecessary/redundant great videos though

  • my uncle use to have this Arcade at his house. Classic game.

  • doot doot dee dee doo dee doo dee dee...God I hate ear worms.

  • the sound the rocks make when you blow them up is wrong. video quality? crappy emulator?

  • No it isn't. That's exactly the way it sounds in the Atari 2600 version. Maybe you're thinking of a different version?

  • well yours sounds too white-noise-y

  • Maybe it's Camtasia, then *shrugs*

  • loved this game as a kid because of it's music

  • i love it how you timed the "bleep bleep" with the music!

  • I can't resist trying to do that every time I play. Causes me to mess up sometimes, tho XD

  • "You'll all hate me for this later =P "

You wasnt kidding xD that music is ace! xD

  • yee ^^

  • Fun Fact: The background music for Moon Patrol was later updated to 16 bit form and reused as the menu music in Mario Lemieux Hockey for the Sega Genesis, albeit slightly altered in tempo, rythmn, and a few bars at the end of the loop that got messed with.

Fun Fact: I shouldn't remember any of this and should use my grey matter for something useful instead... but I do, and I can't.

  • the song wont get stuck in my head becuase i got megaman 9 music in my head HAHA

    i still love you

  • Oh well, I tried =P

  • well ive never had one of these really old consoles but i have like a big collection of intellivision games on ps2 that i got at game stop :P

    pretty good

cant figure out how to play half of them tho :\

  • Awesome atari game! Good Job Dena. And now I am whistling the tune! :D

  • I had a 2600 once and I've just realized that I always wanted the wrong games back then. Now I see more and more games that were actually pretty good for this old machine. Damn! Try "Tunnel Runner", "Robot Tank" or "Dumbo's Flying Circus" for instance. After "Doom 3" and all this modern stuff I enjoy these ancient games still a lot...

  • WOOT!

  • See, this is the great thing about the Atari. Just imagine what stuff is. It's fantasic.

By the way, what are the chances that we'll see a Breakout episode?

  • Pretty high, actually--it was one of my faves.

  • I think the Moon Patrol-mobile kind of looks like a Delorian from 'Back to the Future.' Only it has little moon legs and walks around. I'm thinking of building a fan fiction epic around this very concept. Thank you for putting this video together to promote my new (online) novel, "Marty McFly's Moon Patrol meets the Hentai Henna Furry Saiyan in 3D!!!"

  • I'll look forward to that! lol

  • Ah, Moon Patrol. I was addicted to the arcade version :)

  • I've never heard of this game before.

  • Doo doo doo, dut doo dut doo doo doo doo doo doo, dut doo dut doo doo doo...

BLARGLESNARGLE! Cutse you, pixels and your cat-sized sizes! Curse you!

  • Whoa. That was pretty quick. x3

  • Those things look like eyeballs.

  • Hmm, I never thought of that for some reason.

  • The "Grapes" looked like moths to me.

  • I remeber the Arcade version it was pretty fun I hated missing those craters and falling in the pit and blowing up.

  • The music is not the thing I remember most about that game at all. I remember the car being able to shoot both up and to the side and the fact that you are on the moon. And those stupid fucking craters that I would always blow up in! I think the music is one of the last things I remember about this title. But either way cool video. Your emulator recording are always nice and clear.

  • These aren't meant to be taken seriously =P

  • wats your favorite atari music. moon patrol is definately up there for me.

  • Hmm, it's a toss-up between Moon Patrol and Pitfall II.

  • Will you do a Pitfall II episode? Cant wait to see it!

  • Probably. With how quickly I can crank these out, I'll have all the games I owned covered in no time =P

  • Dena, your pixels are big :p

  • I love atari retrospectives

  • One of the few Atari games I ever owned. Nice vid.

  • what version of moon patrol is this? I remember playing it with parallax backgrounds...

  • These are all Atari 2600 games.

  • the music on that game isnt half bad for being something from an old game.

  • Finally, the "live!" remix of the music really works ;)
