@ECASirk for wireless networks you need an airpcap adapter. its just a usb device that allows you to capture packets.

Even if the government was monitoring every single private network out there you'd be fine. And besides, you're not gonna do this on an internet server....this is for sniffing passwords on a LAN.

Afaik, networks are OS independant, every computer can connect to a network and uses the protocol that network is using (probably TCP/IP). So yes, you can ARP spoof every system. Some systems have built in protection systems that send out ARP requests periodically, but I think ARP spoofing tools spam these ARP confirmations to get into the ARP table.

When you edited the "etter.conf" within usr/local/etc, did you delete the "#" beside ip_chain or the "#" beside ip_table?

Normally a standard internet user doesnt need to remove the "#" @ ipchain

No it wont damage your network. At most it will slow down or DoS the network and as soon as you stop arp poisoning it should recover (if not just reset the wireless router)

How do you expect to send data when you are not connected to other computers? The most you can do from not connecting to anything at all is sniffing packets on wireless with your nic in promiscuous mode.
