And hardcore, if graphics don't make a game great, try playing gears of war on a 42 inch 1080p HDTV on 420p and say that again...especially after 3 years of HD
I don't know why everyone keeps saying that gears 3 is better; it's newbie friendly, the sawed-off ('nuff said), and the maps are all reasons why I would (if I could) play gears 2....but I still love halo, just not my stupid 12 year old teammates, which is another thing you find in gears 3.

Gears of War is awesome but Halo's story, multiplayer and gameplay is better, and then when forge comes in, GOW gets PWNED. Both games are still good. Anyway we GOW and Halo fans should be teaming up against these gaystation fucktards.
This is kind of fail seeing as most of the things that Halo won in were fairly based on personal opinion and would vary drastically depending on who's playing. For example, Halo's gameplay, features, and multiplayer were personally some of the most bland and boring things I have seen in a long while. The game is too slow paced, bland, and frustratingly repetative. The only thing halo had going for it for me was 4 player split screen and forge. Let's face it, other than those, it was pretty lame.

Just to point out, halo CE was the mother of the shooter. Other games may introduce new content, such as killstreaks, but halo is the REAL shooter. Halo 3 set the bar for the new age of FPS.

Both suck.But Halo comes on top because Gears has the most terrible multi-player of all time and the fact that Halo has better story when you count the books and it takes more skill but Reach killed the Halo series and Gears 3 killed the series by making the multi-player even worse than the one in Gears 2 and making Beast mode extremely boring. first of all, it should gear of war one vs halo 3 and i have played gears of war 2 and the story sucks and so do the graphics so halo won anyway but halo should have won every aspect

Just to point out, halo CE was the mother of the shooter. Other games may introduce new content, such as killstreaks, but halo is the REAL shooter. Halo 3 set the bar for the new age of FPS.

@SHADIC441ADVENT I completely agree with you on that, but Gears was the first shooter to get more sales higher than expectation, so much they made a series that was just extraordinary. But the only thing that Gears of War has that Halo will never have is the pureness of a real human war.

i agree since this is indeed gears of war 2 and didn't have as much features, but if you take the horde of gears of war 3 along with beast mode and the new mulitplayer, i'd say it'd beat any of the halo games, just my opinion :D

Both suck.But Halo comes on top because Gears has the most terrible multi-player of all time and the fact that Halo has better story when you count the books and it takes more skill but Reach killed the Halo series and Gears 3 killed the series by making the multi-player even worse than the one in Gears 2 and making Beast mode extremely boring. Coming from someone who has played hours of each game in each series.

@soldierassasin i think gears has the better multiplayer but thats because i just dont like the guns in halo... i'd also say that halo has poor controls, they just seem awkward to me. but yes i'd also say that mass effect is the best out of the 3, the story is incredible, the graphics are incredible and its extremely long :)

Halo has outsold, and outdone any console exlcusives!! Gears is great but halo is just way better, its story just is amazing and it's music fuckin rocks!!! And halo wins in graphics, people look real and effects are awesome also people in gears all look fat!! But I grew up with Halo that's why I like it better

Gears 3 adds more variety with better maps, game modes and weapons. the lancer can be used successfully in gears 3 whilst in gears 2 you wud just be shotgun n00bed
