I've had both cameras. Each has their good and bad points. By the way, the background sound you hear from the NV24HD is because the optical stabiliser is turned on. I've also found that PowerDirector version 7 handles the video editing very well for the NV24.

Thank you for the input. The EX-V8 seems pretty solid. I'm still trying to figure out if I like the NV24HD.
