  • I jst came 2.49 ugh :)

  • i wana suck that ledgend off so beautiful :)

  • Quality

  • Caught this broadcast. Never heard of them before. What have I been missing, brilliant!

  • @ratious1 lanegan is still kicking ass, but his style has dropped the rock and replaced it with a heavy dose of blues. really mellow and melodic, and just really chill.

  • I remember that programme. That was a great era of US rock music and Screaming Trees were one of the best bands to come from it.

  • @cbmorgan365 Most certainly they were...

  • Such an amazing voice- love The Trees

  • Baixão massa, maluco.

  • thats amazing. Thank you!

  • Mark, I love your voice boyyyyyyyyyy!

  • wow that bass player is just killing it

  • @curefreak He totally is hey!?!? Tight grooves....ahhh..the 90s.

  • 2 Fuck faces listen to Disney pop ballshit!

  • I watched this programme, the Trees blew everyone away.

  • The 80's-90's was by far the best thing ever to happen to music. Long live Grunge!

  • A un solo idiota le gusta más daddy yanke

  • I remember this so well, it is great listening to real tunes from my youth, "No Nivana" was the best.

  • One of my favorite songs of all time. I saw Screaming Trees three times in the early 90s and they always put on a great show. This song deserved so much more exposure - it's a shame. Thanks for posting a great live version.

  • We need another grunge movement to take over the garbage on the radio today.

  • @whpriol1 It'l happen.

  • @whpriol1 the only way it will ever happen though is if everyone who wants it to happen all forms their own bands and does something about it.

  • @whpriol1 right on!

  • Imagine theres no heaven... uh oh wait a minute...

  • Mark Lanegan=Jim Morrison :))))

  • great song!!!

  • one of the best voices in music history.. but a personality not fit for the public eye. such a legend. Lanegan is always perfect live.

  • @adegamisoumounopano Lanegan shows what one can utilize with a rich, deep voice, and the intelligence, the technique, the soul to utilize it.

It's hard to find a baritone with this much charisma. Usually, the tenors rank towards the top- Freddie Mercury, Chris Cornell, Robert Plant.

But Lanegan easily ranks up there. Very touching voice.

  • @ultramegaunknown Yes sir, Mark Lanagan and both the bros who play guitar were rockin' Seattle before the so called "Grunge Scene"started. Remember "The RCKCNDY"that is pretty much the time the Grunge scene started. We called that area the Herpes Triangle.(Just a Joke)Because all the clubbers would go from club to club and take the party somewhere else. Check out his solo album "Whiskey and the Holy Ghost" and make sure you have a bottle of your favorite Whiskey on hand!!

  • @TheKennyjoe Thank you!! It's awesome to hear from someone that was there, that saw it. I want to see Seattle... I always thought I would fit in there, not because of the "image" seen by the rest of the world via MTV, bu, rather... I love the rain, I'm a laid back guy, and I love great blues/metal/punk music.

  • @TheKennyjoe Whiskey for the Holy Ghost is his best, but who's counting he's the greatest singer ever.

  • yeah, definitly...

  • jesus, this has brought back my youth... I prefer Song of a baker but loved the tree's but Mudhoney are the band.

  • The best band from Seattle grundge, hell I think they were the pioneer.

Not much airplay, not taking anything from A.I.C. but I seen these guys open for them in 93 and I think they blew em away, but the show was great. There guitar player kicked a girl in the head, unreal perfomance.

  • take a walk on the wild side

  • Keep the torch lit!!

  • Awesome song and band man

  • what a great voice! kind of a cross of Tom Waits and Joe Cocker. ... I miss music

  • @mystro810 me too...

  • @mystro810 I can not believe you even put joe cocker's name with Mark's. WTF is wrong with your ears man?

  • @jczother what are you crazy?! Joe Cocker has an amazing voice. They both have growling, gravely types of voices, thats what I meant. Joe Cocker is a legend man. He sings with so much soul. People thought he was black when he first got started because he is so bluesy. Mark is bluesy too. Mark has a great voice but Joe is one of the best of all time

  • @mystro810 Is this the same guy that got a name ruining other peoples song writing? He may be a legend in someones eyes, if I thought great singers of thet era it would be Eric Burdon, Robert Plant etc. sorry I HATE Joe Cocker... Did he right music are just ruin it?

  • @jczother Robert Plant is probably my favorite singer and Eric Burden is awesome too so Im not gonna say that Joe is better than either of them, just different. Yeah Joe isnt a songwriter, he is a singer. I think his version of A Little Help From My Friends (with the assist from Mr. Page on guitar) is even better than the Beatles version. Im not into more contemporary Joe Cocker like his version of One etc but the Joe Cocker from Woodstock has a tremendous voice

  • @mystro810 Opinions, I thought that was the whole invasion thing to sound like an old blues singer... I did hear they thought Steve Winwood WAS at 14 with Spencer Davis. Now see he's my all time favorite musician, singer and a real good song writer. Hell most stuff he plays all the instruments. I wish him and Hendrix could have done more.

  • @jczother Yeah Steve Winwood is an amazing singer/songwrite/guitar player. He is such an under-rated guitar player. He can really rip. Cant Find My Way Home is one of my favorite songs not to mention his work with Traffic. I admire him alot for not wanting to own all the spotlight (as he could have done being that he does everything) and surrounding himself with other great musicians Like Clapton and Dave Mason. He obviously just wanted to make great songs

  • @jczother traffic was awesome

  • queens of the stone age ROCK!!

  • lol, thanks to QOTSA I discovered Screaming Trees, such a great band.

  • Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam and Screaming Trees. These bands were "grunge". When i listen to them, I think "Why did I listen to Nirvana all the time??..."

  • @tanriverdd They had a band together called Mad Season. Mark Lenegan had a few comeo's on their album. He sang along with Layne Staley on that album. Mark Lenegan was good friends with bothe Staley and Cobain.

  • 5 staes .thanks .and fudge youTune fr the embettermenr! ! ! Thanks

  • Great band. Saw Screaming Trees in Aug, 1994, playing an outdoor arena in Seattle - sandwiched between Reverend Horton Heat and headliner Soundgarden, but for me the Trees' set stole the show. Something about their unpretentious mix of metal and psychedelia just works, plus it doesn't hurt that the songwriting was terrific.

  • Hello, we are FéniX.

    Check us out!!!

    We hope you like it!!!

  • ill be sure to

  • Ahh the whiskey burn and cigarette drag of Lanegan's voice!!

  • fucking great band... 5 stars

  • una de las mejores bandas grunge VIVA EL GRUNGE

  • I only recently realized that Mark Lanigan does a lot of backing vocals for Queens of the Stone Age

  • check out 'In the Fade' by queens of the stone age, mark lanegan on lead vocals and its amazing

  • Comment removed

  • @Optio10 Josh got his start with him, they've done many tunes together.

Hell he was in the Screaming trees at times.

  • right on iliie

  • Certain actions don't make a band commercial, and if they do, does a band that tries to make a living sound any less appealing to you because of it? Grow up, You're not going to give them long-term financial stability, are you? I guess all of your favorite artists have been renting for the last 20 years and eating spaghettios and top ramen or else they're sell outs too, right? When will they LEARN, and get a REAL job? Eh? Ignorance. Grow up, guys.

  • grunge died soon as nirvana and the trees broke up. now all we have is shit music

  • Nothing left to say but GGGRRRUUUNNNGGGEEE

question; why this BBC show was called "No Nirvana"

  • maybe because Nirvana was all the hype at that time, and they were stealing the spotlight and success from such great bands as features on this show! No Nirvana - Nevermind!

  • How come the Trees dont get back together? Even if its just for the money, all these other &*%^$#'s are doing it. The who playing at halftime for nfl superbowl?!

  • The Who...

  • One of their best songs. So hard to pick a fave song from such a brilliant band. Peace to all Trees fans.

  • "Dust" was one of the best rock albums to ever come out, so damn strong from track one to the end...tooo bad record company didnt trust them and give them any advertising budget...but fuck, Mark and the Conner brothers fought like hell all the time, seen it happen a couple of times..scary as shit..but dammit they made some great music

  • Hey markbotv3, Beth Ditto. She's huge, and not exactly good looking but I guess that's the reason why she's famous as opposed to her band.

  • Mark is just absolutely amazing!!!

  • Still have this on VHS - The Late Show: "No Nirvana". This was perhaps the finest track. Pity the guitar gets a bit out of tune towards the end.

Other good ones from the show were Rage Against the Machine (Bullet in the Head), Janes Addiction (Been Caught Stealing), Sonic Youth (Drunken Butterfly) and Smashing Pumpkins (Rhinoceros).

  • selah had some phenominal bands in the late 80s and 90s the trees were the only ones who really had any success.

  • God, the Trees were so incredible. One of the most under-rated rock bands ever.

  • god bless the grunge movement...real musicians actually playing real music...do you think in todays commercialism that they would allow an overweight base player? or a front man with a widows peak? NEVER its all about looks and not music. name one musician or band in the last eight years who is ugly........cant? imigine that. i wonder if theres some millie vanillieism going on in todays music industry.

  • bowling for soup is a real shitty commercial band and they have an overweight bassist. (don't ask me how i know that.)

  • Well, the guys from My Morning Jacket are no prizes, looks wise.

  • you said it....todays music is corporate bullshit....sigh i miss music thank god we have these ideos and recordings or else id lose my fucking mind

  • I agree,

but check out the singer from the plain white t's.

the guys that did that hit song "hey there delilah".

    Hes funny looking.

  • I saw these guys support AIC in London in 1993 (?) I loved it, it was like two headline acts in one night....like you said, those were the days!

  • class

  • god, i miss those good old times...

and i´m starting to sound like my father...

  • GRUNGE

  • Is the heat on the fritz ? Or what?

  • brilliant

  • lanegan brings it

  • always

  • I saw very production years ago in the UK on T.V very late 80's or very early 90's.I remember going to the pub and asking if anyone saw it ? and who were they ? etc etc.Well here i am and now i know what the song is called.Made a very big impression on my mind at the time.Enough for me to search them out many many years later.

  • Same here, I agree.

  • The true godfathers of the so-called Seattle "scene." Them and the Melvins. Tad is the godfather of Nampa, ID.

  • Green River as well. Easily one of the finer bands that made the "Seattle Sound."

    Pre-Nirvana grunge sounds amazingly well . . .

  • This one of my favorites.

  • When the tape came out this was probably the best song. I like to play some time on guitar. It's pretty much the same as "You can't always get what you want" by the Stones.

  • you can also hear the same chord riff using Cmaj in "nearly lost you"

  • Best song they ever recorded!

  • mark has no EYES. has anyone noticed this.

  • Mark is an illusion

  • Pfft, eyes are overrated anyway.

  • get a life.

  • i want van conners shirt.

  • So great....thanks for posting it :)

  • I saw this when it was on, Marks done better stuff solo, think he suits the slower / moodier acoustic, i.e whiskey for the holy ghost, classic, never be equalled!!

  • Thanks so much for uploading this video! I see it for the first time here...

Best band on earth for me...

  • They are the best band ever. I swear.

  • actually these guys are from ellensburg, wa. but they do get alot of respect in both places! i miss this band soo much.

  • screaming trees deserve a lot of credit from the seattle sound of the 90s this band is great! love the song, and mark voice it just amazing! long live to the trees!

  • Amazing just awesome!

  • Play it on guitar; it´s easy to sing as well.

  • Filete la cancion; mark luganan na mas

viva el Grunge ; nunca morira

  • This song is so amazing everytime I hear it I have to sing

  • the record is too low

  • good bye mama!!!!!!!!!!! grungest scream ever

  • Great video. Thanks for the upload.

  • so depressing... & apparently heartfelt.

  • But in a good way.........

  • so depressing... & apparently heartfelt.

  • Ditto

  • Brilliant - Ive been looking for this for ages - Used to have it on VHS but lost it years ago.

  • I used to have it too, if i remember correctly the show also featured pearl jam, rage a t m, sugar, dinosaur jr, janes addiction, smashing pumpkins and i seem to remember rem being in there somewhere. This song was the best and i've loved them ever since.
