In an over 1.2 million acre range, BLM plans to leave behind just 258 wild horses in High Rock and 572 mustangs and 39 burros in Calico. It's about cattle, and BLM plans do not allow for wild horse genetic viability nor enough #'s in case of natural disasters.

It seems to me that everybody has the 'solution' (as BLM like to put it, but sounds more like Hitler's plan) except the government and BLM. Just give the horses back their land and take off the illegal cattle (it's them that do all the damage). BLM are always going on about food and water shortages but nature takes care of itself far better than man can ever do by interfering with it. Their program just sounds like selective breeding of a few and the rest can just rot in holding pens for ever.

It has nothing to do with too many horses and not enough vegetation to sustain the animals...it is ALL about catering to the interests of cattle barons and private livestock ranchers, and allocating millions of acres of PUBLIC land and most of the resources to livestock grazing. Livestock grazing is allowed on160 + million acres, horses and burroes are restricted to only 26..of which they have to SHARE with livestock.

Hi I live in sweden and i have seen so much bad videoclips of the mustangs, WAY must

USA and CANADA kill the horses, In transports they move a lot of them and in days the horses havent NO WATER OR FODE, some are ded and some horses can't stand

and broken legs and more, The same TAKE AWAY RODEOS, hoses are killd

cows are killd, and ALL GOES TO MCdolnad's -Ford- and CocaCola ..

There has been research showing that the wild horse herds are declining, not overpopulating. While I have met some great BLM volunteers and believe that some of these people care, the bottom line is the people on top do not. Bigwig Ken Salazar is advocating sending mustangs to slaughter against the American peoples vote. Its all about money...and it needs to stop. Everyone spead the word!

I work with wild Mustangs taming them so they can be adopted out. Its not about the BLM removing them, they have to the land can't sustain so many. We need more people to adopt them is the real problem. If you turned all of the horses back out into the wild that are in the holding facilities right now over half of the population would die of starvation. Do research on both sides of the coin there are programs on both sides trying to help. Do your part in adopting one if you really want to help.

@AEStables I've done plenty of research and I've rescued two Mustangs. I know which side of the coin I believe in. Of course the wild horses need to be managed (since they've been relegated to boundaries), but there are much better ways of doing that. That is where the research is badly needed, not in removing, warehousing and sterilizing the herds that remain.

HOWEVER, if the BLM would stop shoving wild horses and burros off land that Congress gave them to make room for cattle grazing on PUBLIC land, at taxpayer expense, then would justice be served. It is incredibly brutal the way in which they are removed. Mares are literally giving birth as they are rounded up. At one point last year a foals hooves CAME OFF because of being chased by helecopters.

"western lands and watersheds cannot support a population this large without significant damage to the environment. To prevent starvation of animals and to protect the lands from over-grazing the BLM each year moves thousands of wild horses."

Wonderful video and moving music thank you for shareing. Can't understand how BLM could get away with taking so many wild horses off the land. Sad & heart breaking to see. I hope we can have our wild horses to remain wild, and managed in a humane way. Help the horses that need to be adopted find a home. It's our obligation to take care of animals that have been captured from there rightful home.
