I am really glad you are doing Weight Watchers I think you will get a lot out of it.I have tried many different weight loss methods myself. I even won two biggest loser competitions at work. I had been finding that the faster I loose weight the faster I gain it back. The weight watchers program is basically a food budget and methods to help you eat normal food in a balanced way. Also where else can you go and get people to clap and cheer for you when you loose weight.
I was really struck by a recent article in the New York Times, The Fat Trap By TARA PARKER-POPE. The article confirms that the extreme low calorie diet will lower your metabolism and increase your hunger hormone for years. This is what they keep saying at Weight Watchers. I found that of all my diets I kept the weight off the longest when I followed the slow methodical weight watchers program. good luck, can't wait to hear about how it goes for you.
After subscribing to you for years - I dunno - I feel like you are a friend and this video was a Skype call - I hope that doesn't make me sound crazy!!! I wish I could take you down to a bar - grab a drink and talk to you about this - because yes we all feel it - no you are not alone - and that you should be proud for talking about it.
I liken my relationship to unhealthy food as addiction - I am a battered partner - yes I know it's not good for me - yes I know it is hurting me big time - a
Stop punishing yourself. Get a smaller plate it helps trick the mind. Eat whatever you want to but in moderation, In time you will find you can't eat as much as you used to. If you want cake eat it, try myfitnesspal online. My hubby has lost 80lb now just by logging his food everyday and sticking to the calories they reccomend. There are forums and everyone is really supportive and it's free. What ever you decide to do just remember this is a change for life and baby steps are all it takes xx
I'm similar to you in that I wasn't overweight growing up, but I am now in my 30s and my weight is an ongoing issue. The holidays kill me. Being around family...first of all, there are delicious baked goods all over the place, and second of all I'm so stressed out that I basically give myself the gift of no self-control to get through it. And once you've put it on it is so hard to get rid of it.
Good for you dealing with these hard issues. Chris, it's really easy to get food, comfort food, living in the USA. I'm soooo you when it comes to the PAPA JOHN'S story. In 2011 I spent over $600 in pizza according to my budget. But you're smart enough to know what your body needs. the body doesn't really need PAPA JOHN'S. stay strong buddy.
Hey, i've watched yours n nickasarbata's videos for years now, i've lost 22 pounds since august 1st. I had a high cholesterol reading that gave me impetus to lose weight.( i also am bipolar so changed my medication) I've cut out full fat cheese, bread and pasta, cos of the bloating effect of wheat flour. So no pizzas! i don't miss pasta but sometimes i miss toast!
I think you need to watch the youtuber Shaycarl from Shaytards. He lost almost a 100 pounds during last year. He talks about it a lot in his channel Shayloss. He looks amazing now. I got really inspired by him to work out more and eat healthy.
You are not alone. I've struggled with my weight most of my life. This past year I lost a lot of weight and I'm struggling to lose the last 20lbs but it seems like my bad eating habits are slowly creeping back and its driving me mad. I'm scared that I am going to put the weight back on. I am also thinking about joining weight watchers. I figured being on a plan will help me stay focused. Many people don't realize that it is a daily battle within yourself when your going through this process.
Everyone feels your pain. Now stop and do 100 squats and 100 mountain climbers. Jennifer Hudson cannot help you, and as for Janet Jackson, remember that she was caught with horse diuretics in her refrigerator. It's easy: you fire up your metabolism by doing weight resistance, even if you only use your own body for that resistance. Exert control over your exercise schedule rather than food. Now drop and give me 20.
There is no way i could do that detox--not gonna happen. Good on you for doing it--I am just not a fan. I think you just need to exhale and love yourself a little more. All the best to ya ;)
I know exactly what you're saying about food being a comfort. I like the sensation of having food circulating around in my mouth. Puddings are my weakness and chocolate too and the other day I caught my own reflection ; I genuinely didn't recognise myself and how others see me - super chunky.

I don't understand. If you enjoy food, why not enjoy your food? Life is short. Do what you like to do for the time you have.

Have you tried hypnosis? It worked for me with smoking and I had been a smoker for a long time.
