The amp was great and had a fantastic sound when it worked and I don't know if I've just been extremely unlucky to have 2 faulty amps but I wouldn't recomme
@bibiranger You are indeed correct. I went to a pro music tech store and they explained to me its the same unit but with 2 ten inchers, hence the 102 name. Thank you for the heads up though - I went for a Roland Cube XL 40 for now due to its amazing effects and 80 second looper, so I will use this while I save for a higher end Marshall :-)
@deathbastardable You could always look into a separate overdrive or distortion pedal. You can't get everything from one piece of equipment, and it's more convenient to have separate pedals anyway.
@eduardozpn Hi, well, there isn't such a big difference between those 2, but the 102 has 2 x 12" speakers while the 101 has 1 x 12" speaker. Another difference is the price, the 102 is a bit more expensive then the 101, and there's a difference in size too. 102: 674 x 494 x 278mm. 101: 591 x 528 x 283mm. Hope I could help ^.^

peavey...is viel gailer meiner meinung nach...die ganzen kiddies die keine ahnung ham, kaufn erst mal marshall, weil man das logo i-wo schonmal gesehen hab. ich fand marshall jetzt nit sooo kuhl und bin dann eher auf peavey gekommen, weil die für die härtere musikrichtung einfach mehr zu bieten haben als marshall. aber am besten probierst du einfach mal die verstärker aus und entscheidest dich dann spontan selber, welcher der probanten dir besser gefällt.
i have a question: If we take MArshall MG 101 FX and put the volume knob to 5, for example, and take the MG 102 FX and set the volume knob again on 5. Which amp, will be louder? I am asking this because, it says that both have 100W and MG 102 has 2x12" speakers. Thank you
The benefit of 2x12 speakers instead of just one is for a clearer sound, your tone and all your effects aren't just crammed out of one speaker, they're spread through two, giving a better sound. Considering it's only about £13 more for the 102, I'd go with that if you can handle the weight of it lol

Why is the model number 102FX yet every picture I see of this model number, the unit says MG-100 on it? Is there a difference?

@iio58 The "100" stands for the 100W of power. The 2 replacing the 0 just stands for this amps two 10"s as opposed to one.

I'm getting this amp and the MG stompware pedal :) I love that you have 4 channels and you can change settings until you find your sounds :D
a clean, a crunch, a rythm and a solo channel and you are ready for a gig!
