He was sooooooooooo underrated in the films. Samwise is the ultimate best friend/faithful companion. It was his strength and fortitude that got Frodo throught the hardest parts of his journey. Sean Astin is now, and will forever be, an entire generations ideal of the guy you want by your side through thick and thin. There are worse things to be! (and the fact that his mom is Patty Duke and his dad is Gomez Addams is just cool)
