Locally , Gene Cockerham ,In all of Georgia , it goes without saying T. Lynn Davis was always willing to give advice. On the national level John Korrey and Ralph Wade are where I set the bar. If anyone ever reaches the level they are at, you've made it to auctioneer stardom.
There is 3 gentleman that has been an influence in my auction career. MIke Jones, Shawn Terrel and Leroy Hendren. They are all a part of a great organization and that would be United Country Auction Services.
To echo himatt100's comment, Ralph is not only a great friend, but would have to be my biggest influence as well. I still listen to him on the RFD Channel every chance I get, and have often told people that the 1 on 1 training I did with him launched my chant forward 10 years. He's a wonderful host, a great friend, and the best auctioneer I've ever had the the pleasure to be associated with.
Ralph Wade, was the "GREATEST" influence in my auction career as well as being a "GOOD FRIEND"!!! Not only a he's the best bidder caller but, he's also a GREAT HORSEMAN!!!!
I have had 3 influences in the auction industry, Lawrence Van Hyfte, Roland Lindsey and Tom Kilcoin. These 3 men lived in Illinois. My uncle clerked sales for Lawrence for several years. Tom worked with Roland and then went out on his own and continues to this day along with his son Adam. All three were mainly farm and livestock auctioneers who then also sold household and antiques later in their careers. Both Lawrence and Roland were parts of brother auctioneer teams.
