I used to live in Modesto from '83-'98 (birth to age 14) and enjoyed living in Modesto. The weather gets to around 115 degrees in the summer. I wished I haden't moved from Modesto to Hillsboro, Oregon (moved because my dad got offered a job at Intel in Hillsboro). Becides the hot weater, the only other bad I see is that people who work in the bay area and used to live there, now live here because cost of living is cheaper which drove the cost up and caused the city to be more crowded.

The only reason tht people work in the bay area and not in Modesto is because the jobs in the bay area pay more than the jobs in Modesto.

Modesto is so awesome! I'm in NC right now, and it sucks. Sure, Modesto has it's share of gangbangers and criminals, but they usually hang around the ghetto.

Brenden and downtown is pretty kickin' on weekends, not too large and not too small.

Woodward Res. is close, Sonora and the mountains are close, the bay is a short drive away. It's a cool place to live.

you can never compare the City with Mo Town. Of course you're gonna hate it. I lived there for about 3 years, and i started liking it during the summer time and the one thing i loved the most was how close it was to the City. Hope you can move out soon, even tho, according to my ex husband, it's getting incredibly expensive out there!
