@jgk381 OK, you like ELO and Tangerine Dream or whatever kind of prog stuff you enjoy, that's fine; but there are some of us who enjoy Autechre, IDM and that type stuff. There's no written law about what "real" music is. People who like classical or jazz probably wouldn't think much about the type of music you enjoy. I think you should expand your tastes and try glitch-type music or dubstep. I love exploring different types of art--even experimental jazz.
@damondarkwalker Thinking about buying this ..... I want to know if I hook this up to my M-audio and from M-Audio to live8 will I lose quality or will I need another set of hardware to gain the most out of this box >? I enjoy learning synthesis but hate using Vsts kind of boring . So I want hands on experiences and earth shattering trance synth or jaw dropping bass effect .
Finally a 'cool' demo of the little/slim phatty. This makes me want to buy it, unlike the grandads who shred and shred... They just make me bored... Now I've seen this video I'm definitely buying one.
This instrument in my opinion, should be monophonic, its WAY too phat to be polyphonic - totally intended for crazy basslines and cutting leads, not really for warm chords
I will soon be able to see my dream realized and it will be on you tube for all to see! A restored 1959 Hammond B-3 in a 1936 Model A case (baby B3) with original legs (removable) with 2 channel midi installed in the lower manual with the slim phatty mounted on on it and a mac mini running very nice piano software (pianoteq). I was never giving up the B, so now I have it and all my pianos and a real analog synth in one "convenient" package! Stay tuned--its almost done!
By the way: Waldorf Blofeld or this monster???? I am having a lot of internal debate on whether to get the polyphonic or the whatever-the-blofeld-is type synth. This will be my first synth so I am not terribly experienced, but am swaying heavily towards the Moog.
i dont really get it: they said something about voltage control... does this mean you can run a guitar through it and use it as a distortion/filter n stuff? or what exactly does voltage control mean?
@elefantkaputt they might have this thing called "voltage sag" where it basically makes the synth sound like its low on power or perhaps over drive it, im not 100% sure tho but thats what ive heard
@elefantkaputt You can affect the sound using control voltages from modules or anything that outputs a voltage, even a battery lol. Look it up on youtube.
Wait? did the demonstrator said that i can destroy my subwoofer in the trunk with the Slim Phatty? If so, does this mean that i don't have to buy the Massive plugin from Native Instruments/
@PvPene Don't be angry that you can't play like that! Just keep practicing and you can move beyond just making noises to actually being able to play stuff. Good Luck!
@PvPene Translation: You prefer cool sounds with no musicality whatsoever, over actual music.
Personally, I prefer actual music. Listening to cool sounds arpeggiate is fun for about a minute. Usually, those are sounds used as FX incorporated into actual music. Just listenig to sound effects over and over with no actual music is very boring, borderline annoying, imo.
@jgk381 Now that is just your opinion, do you seriously need to post up stuff like this. It's the new generation of music, people love Dubstep and house surely I do love the classic electronic music like Kraftwerk, Orbital, Underworld, The Crystal Method etc.
And I also appreciate newer electronic artists like Deadmau5, Alex S, Benny Benassi
But seriously do you need to purposely bother people
Not meaning to start an argument but just leave the Dub fans alone, they'll listen to it if they wanna
So happy to see the Little Phatty in rack form. I desperately need an affordable entrance into the world of Moog gear, and I think this might just do it. Just please continue making the CP-251 and expanding the line of Moogerfoogers and I will love Moog forever.
I need three of these with blue lights instead of yellow ones...the red lights can stay. First, I need spending money...but that shouldn't be a problem as long as Moog makes these for the next two years...
I need three of these...first, I need $2700. But after I get the money, I will be buying three of these, since I don't see a polyphonic synth from Moog coming anytime soon.
Holy crap, this is something I've been waiting for!!! Is anybody else thinking what I'm thinking: pair this up with a Little Phatty, and have a 4-oscillator Monster Phatty??
How are you getting sound out of it without a controller? Is there a way to audition patches without an external controller?

answer me this very important question please!
so I can decide purchasing slim phatty or not...
I know that the little phatty editor didn't work with Ableton.
Now, does the same editor works for Slim? Does it still have issues with Ableton?
Or there will be a specific editor for Slim that hasn't been released yet?
