@Chenoholic88 - The first "Biography" series (which would indeed form the basis for the long-running A&E series of the same name) ran from 1961 to 1963. Its producer was David Wolper, whose first company (that put it out) was later sold to Metromedia, and even later became Metromedia Producers Corporation. The first NYC station to air "Biography" was WNBC-TV, which aired it first-run in the years it was produced. WPIX then picked it up a few years later.
Ah, at the start it seems this was one of the very few times at this point in WPIX's history that "The Abbott & Costello Show" was aired in full, as opposed to the "already in progress" status it suffered through for the past few years when it followed Yankee baseball (wonder if that's where SCTV got the idea for joining "The Sammy Maudlin Show" already in progress).
How can anyone, who watches this, vote dislike? Seriously.
This stuff is AWESOME!!! Tap, you rule brother!

Also, for some reason I actually prefer Bill Biery's prerecorded "This is WPIX-TV, New York" tag to Ralph Lowenstein's "WPIX, New York." (sigh)

Heh. Though I can recall seeing it weekdays as a kid without any interruptions numerous times, you're still right about the Yankee games.
