I was thinking about connecting planets with stretchy long tubes for practical reasons in the future, and was pondering what materials could be used to build roads that are stretchy for less and more easy repairs. Plastics, including both hi (low maintenince, higher mining depth/cost for materials) and low end (easy to maintain, but commonly required, melt on some plastic bags with a small torch into potholes) to build sticky fast roads for low cost transport of heavy goods at slower speeds.
