Als deutsche Bürger darf ich hier auf Youtube ansehen wie Soldaten aller möglichen Länder andere Menschen töten. Aber es ist mir nicht erlaubt ein harmloses, historisches und gewaltfreies Video aus meinem Heimatland anzusehen?

Wer verwendet denn dann hier mechanismen wie sie nie wieder vorkommen sollten?

Uuups! Hab zwar verspätet, aber deshalb nicht ohne geringeres Interesse Deinen Kommentar gelesen: Natürlich darf und soll hier jeder Deutsche (und auch alle anderen)historische Filme ansehen dürfen! Auch ich liebe dokumentarische Filmbeiträge aus der ersten Hälfte des 20.ten Jahrhunderts.

Man sollte jedoch trotzdem aufgeschlossen genug sein, Filme wie diesen hier im Kontext zu den nachtfolgenden (Kriegs-)Jahren zu sehen. Und diese Jahre waren dann weder harmlos noch gewaltfrei!

da stimme ich Dir voll und ganz zu! Mich hat nur etwas geärgert, dass diese Video aus Deutschland nur verfügbar ist, wenn man vorher z.B. einen US-Proxy Server verwendet, ansonsten bekommt man nur einen Hinweis "Dieses Video ist in deinem Land nicht verfügbar." zu sehen.

Auf der anderen Seite kann ich auf YouTube hunderte von Gewaltverherrlichenden Videos sehen. Ich halte es für bedenklich wenn eine Firma zensierend auf eine solche Weise eingreift. .......

....... In dem Video selber kommt keinerlei Gewalt vor. Der Zusammenhang zu den schrecklichen Greueltaten die in den Jahren danach folgten, sollte jedem mündigen Bürger bekannt sein. Immerhin wird die Nazizeit schon im Geschichtsunterricht ausführlich durchgenommen.

Um zu verhindern, dass so etwas jemals wieder passiert ist es sicherlich der falsche Weg derlei Inhalte zu zensieren.

Da geh'ich mit Dir einig! Leider ist die freiwillige Zensur seitens von US-Firmen wie Google oder Youtube mittlerweile "normal!" Diese Selbstzensur findet natürlich nicht nur in Ländern wie China oder Russland statt. US-Firmen wie Microsoft, Google, Youtube und ähnliche sind heucheln den Zensurstaaten gerne vorauseilenden Gehorsam vor, denn schliesslich möchten sie in diesen Ländern massig Profit scheffeln!

In order to fully understand the politics of that time (in Germany and elsewhere), you'd have to start around 1870 - preferrably earlier (around 1814, but 1870 should give you a decent grasp of things). History is dictated by the victor. And has always been. Defining an entire nation from a period of 12 years, however, has little or nothing to do with that. Anyway, victorious and defeated nations both lie. The main difference being their means to voice the lies. So by all means, don't believe all the crap in the history books. They started a war of aggression ( and I'm not talking about taking the Sudetanland) against Poland and other parts of Europe. However, by listening to Hitler and his deluded friends, they kept the war going to the point of actually bring the invadors onto German soil. This could have been evaded - a brokered peace would have been better and saved some (but not all) destruction of German cities.

The allies wanted UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER - as of January 1943, even before stalingrad fell.

They wanted to occupy the Germans and "CHANGE" them.

Stauffenberg was a delusionist - he tough that by killing Hitler, the Allies would stop fighting Germany, allow her to keep Austria, and the whole Reich, and even help her against the USSR.

There was no alternative but to fight to the end - the peace the allies wanted was just unfair
