it wasa year earlier than this  the year i got at the delchamps grocerie store the perry como x mas album.It was a dollar. Played it for years at xmas to the point it got scratched up . I now have parry comos merry christmas music album on cassette whi chis old but still going and a not so old cd that xmas feeling.they had attmpted ot make him an actor but he prefer just to sing, He was also a barber before he got into singing

Perry Como was my favourite singer way back in the forties, when I was a young man. Although many others have been good, no one else comes near him for tone and expression. He`s still my favourite today, and the years roll away when I hear him sing any song, especially "`till the end of time". He seemed such a regular nice guy too.  Big loss to the entertainment world when he passed away.

Hands down the most beautiful version of O Holy Night anyone has every sang. John Berry had a real good one. But when Mr. Perry Como sings "Fall on your knees" it is the most beautiful thing I have ever heard. Nobody could sing like Mr. Perry Como.
