  • Are You telling these people to turn everyone white. Huh? I think that is impossible according to gene pool because brown is stronger color than white I think? so brown sleeping whites will make offspring black!

Beside Zimbabwe does not look like this, I lived in Zimbabwe! No country is a third world country today they are living than americans!

watch following video clip on you tube and see for yourself my brother posted this clip few months ago.

    The Zimbabwe you've never seen

  • great song. nobody else cares about us. we just need to do our own thing and stand together as zimbabweans.

  • :')

  • Awesome!

  • Lovely song Runyararo, kip it up. it's jus gud 2c hw yu care

  • thank you girl, may the Almighty bless u abundantly.

  • It's a beautiful song. Thank you.

  • Its the super powers & the warlords who've no remorse- no feelings for those in need or suffering. Its across the boards in all countries but most severe in the 3rd World. In the Western world, we've more opportunities & 'visible' freedom but we're mental slaves to a system that keeps us from our innate freedom & from bringing-up those who are less advantaged cause of our own issues/struggles w/debt, mortgages, lack of healthcare/mental health services, taxes... our own lack of love & fulfilment

  • Hmm. This had me in tears. I don't know if that's a compliment or not - I find it all to easy to cry about home, but it means something.

  • awesome! do you have a record deal? if not you deserve one!!

  • Big up 2 u!!!brillant song...one day we will stand united as a people,,black white(aint sure abt purple aliens though...they from mars ya'l, =) ,but seriously i cant wait for the day wen zim will be the place it once was but betta because ther'l b no race,no tribe, jus plain old Zimbabweans

  • Your music is beautiful, soothing, heart-felt, moving. Thank you.

  • Leesha, mwazwita (Shona for thank you). It is people like you who see things from a "higher" spiritual level to see the pain of humanity not based on color, social standing, etc., etc., etc. I "happened" to run across your song when I was listening to other music about Zimbabwe. I was born in Zimbabwe, but have lived in the U.S. for most of my life. I am 54 but my parents (now deceased) never let us forget our heritage. Music brought us to the States (my father a singer). Again, Mwazwita!!!

  • brought tears to my eyes girl

I have been in exile for 9 years and i miss my homeland

    pEacE

  • beautiful

  • Thank you so much!

  • We love your music!

  • amazing.t0uching..

  • Leesha, may I ask, why did you choose to write a song about Zimbabwe? There are many other countries that suffer. I am from Zimbabwe so if I could sing (which I seriously cant!) this would be my pick. I feel hope in knowing that somebody from the US chooses it aswell.

  • shayebay, my Mom lives in Zimbabwe, so even though I've never been there, it is a country close to my heart. I too feel helpless to know what to do... I hope and I pray for peaceful change. Take heart knowing that people around the world care about Zimbabwe! :)

  • Brought a tear to my eye. It is so easy to turn a blid eye and try not think abou tthe problems in Zimbabwe. But they always haunt the back of your mind. What can an individual do? Helplessness has got the better of me.

  • "It's a big world and we're two small people in itIf I could change it, I would for you

But all I have is love"

    sweet..

  • Thank you!

  • I'M A FAN!!! In a country with so much hope left and patience i see a miracle greater than my heart can testify. Somewhere i want to see the light, of a dream come true. Where people fight the valiant fight and chivalry is on the move. A place where children laugh, the poor are well kept, somewhere where noone fights for land.

    Its incredible to see,

    The progress that we make

Just by holding onto a dream

    Diamonds in the rough

Turn to jewels in the sun

Oh can y'all see that perfect world...

  • That is beautiful...thank you!

  • wow great song i hope you havent forgotten about us over at centro de vida

  • Of course I haven't forgotten you guys! We think of you often. Glad you like the song! :)

  • Its hard for me to type out a comment after listening to a beautiful message like this Leesha. I guess we can only pray the world will hear your song so every child can grow up in a world without this kind of pain.

  • This song is so awesome it hurts.

  • I gave this video a five. Thank you for bringing awarenes to an ongoing struggle for peace and survival in Zimbabwe. You have an amazing voice and I loved everything about this video. Beautifully done.

  • This is an amazing piece of work, such poignant images...beautiful music and a wonder of a voice...thank you so much.

  • I used to live in Zimbabwe, but was forced to leave

  • A true thank you ---- realistic ... a true gift from god being used....

  • So so amazing you really are gifted i havent gotton round to listening to all you songs but im sure each and every one is as good as the one before. Thank you for sharing your voice with everyone. :)

  • Fantastic, and so emotional. I missed this one out when i first found your songs. It's such a gem. I really love it when you sing and play the piano. :) Would love to hear more songs like this and 'Beautiful Destruction'. 5 stars again!

  • Leesha, this is as powerful as ever, and slowly it is spreading out to the world...I yet have hopes ... tom

  • greatos! :)

  • i found this through krisshred. what an amazing song. i can hear the truth in your words. you are like sarah machlachlan, except a hell of a lot better 5/5!

  • or perhaps Carole King.....

  • Today I prayed for your Mom, then shed a tear. Watched this vid, then sobbed. Watched the vid "Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe", and cried. I just put a pet fish down the drain that has had more invested in it than a Zim pastor has paid to him in a year so I bawled. God have mercy on me I am out of tears ;{

  • I've been praying some prayers and shedding some tears too... really hard not having her here for Christmas. I felt selfish eating nice Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. I hope God turns a little of your mourning into dancing.

On a funnier note, Mom said that is was more economical to use the $200,000 bills as toilet paper--cost less than buying it! (It's sad, but to hear her tell it was rather humorous!)

  • TP is $417 Zim Dollars, that is $417 for one sheet, a roll costs aprox $450,000 Zim Dollars.

  • The $200,000 bills will no longer be accepted in a month or so. So everyone is trying to spend them or exchange them, but most banks won't exchange them for other denominations of currency. Hence... toilet paper! :)

  • Your song coupled with the sweet voice actually made me visualise the plight of Zimbabweans suffering because of Pyschopaths that took us by surprise. Another soothing one of that king will be immensely appreciated...

  • whoaaa!!! Very nice song! I like so much your voice. I'm french and I search a correspondent to share my passion ( the guitar) and to improve my English. I met myself in front of your videos and I liked a lot. I want to know If you would be interest to correspond with me to share our songs and other things. Thanks and I hope you'll answer me, bye!!

  • So touchful.....! very beautiful feelings and song.

  • wow, my friend krisshred who did a nice cover of this tune told me to check out the original... so powerful! i love the way the simple arrangement just arrests my attention. your voice is beautiful! thanks for sharing your gift!

  • Great song Leesha. I sure hope someone in the USA is sharp enough to sign you to a recording contract. This song is particularily moving.

    Big Toby

  • Thanks again....

  • girl I LOVE your song so much that I wish you could release an album(I would buy) I promise..and it is so touching..You should send it to CNN or BBC that make me so happy.

    I LOVE YOU

    I LOVE ZIMBABWE

  • Hie I am Zimbabwean and...

Wow u have touched my heart....I love u and ur song

    everything was just perfect

  • Dear Leesha,

Thank you for the song you wrote for Zimbabwe. I am Zimbabwean, I had to flee my country because I decided to join the movement towards democracy and so was persecuted for my political views. Zimbabwe had such promise after independence but greed became the priority for our leaders. It would appear your mom is doing great work there, is she Zimbabwean or American?

Take care and keep writing songs that touch people's hearts.

  • "Coffins For Sale"? ...My God.

I could easily use the Comment space/Rating to praise your song, the video-editing, etc...

But instead, when I click the 5 stars icon, it'll be for your Mom.

    And for Africa.

If just a little more was spent on foreign aid, a lot less would need to be spent on weaponary.

    Thank you for this.

  • Very sober reminder of the country that's been emaciated by greedy men. "Cry the beloved country".

  • it's funny cuz me ad my best friend have been joking about moving to zimbabwe once we get out of college and live there but now it makes me wanna go and join a program where i can help out and give money to those family over there. i thank you very much for changing my perspective about it i thank you very much. god bless

  • preciosa voz

  • I can't stop listening to this song....you should release an album, I'd buy it )))

    Thanks again

  • love this song....girl you are a beautiful singer. I'm glad that there are still people who can sing such songs....the best, totally love it.

    Thank you....

  • a voice that comes from the heart is the pureset of all dont change

  • god i love your voice

  • So beautiful,i wish i could listen this without crying. All this crying is starting to piss me off:)*sob*

  • Amazing

  • Whn Zim finaly gains democ, u mst be invitd to sing at celebratn! Anywy ur hair looks grt lng or shrt. Ur husbnd - I'm sure, is a lucky guy, as with ur kids. Great talent to write such good lyrics and sing so well. Hope u get recognised beyond wildest dreams.

  • Hey Lee, I'm a Zimbo. Ur responsible for makng me weep & weep. I thnk of my dyng mthr, my brothr, relati, friends, and all the othr inocents affect by ths unnecesry evil. You hve chsen words wel. Remembr not to be too politcl if ur mum stil thre. I'm amaz that u came up wth this such shrt time. Must be missng ur mum. U shld go Zim, it wil inspire u, Zim needs peple like u to make wrld mre aware. U are subtle but even mre effective, thn hate talk.

  • Not trying to sound mean but who in their right mind would go to Zimbabwe at present- especially if they are white. There is a reason people are fleeing across the border to South Africa. Mugabe has been a complete disaster. How much more can the people of Zimbabwe endure? Prayers for your family.

  • I go there reasonably often, I'm white, I'm fully aware of the crisis, and the exodus. Her mothr is there and I'm saying be careful about not being political, & sure her mthr will alert her to this. Antwy thnks for ur prayers.

  • ''especially if they are white'' - its a misconception that this whole issue is racial. It's not - it's about Mugabe staying in power at any cost. Many more black people have been persecuted than white people. Unless you;re spouting anti-Mugabe rhetoric i think it;s relatively safe - for black or white - to go there.

  • Very talented. You will go far in life.

  • Beautifully done. makes you think this wacky thing called YouTube can actually be used as a tool for affecting global social awareness and change.

  • beautiful song, thank you this is so wonderful uplifting spiritual

  • So touching... I loved it...

Uhm, how can I get in contact with you? I have a question...
