So, what exactly did this have to do with DW? Why does everyone feel they have to start a tutorial about anything Joomla with the obligatory WAMP, MySQL, download and install training? This tut should have been titled "How to download, install and run Joomla on a WAMP server".... DW was not even a topic!

Hey Matt, great video tutorial. I've been hammering away using DW CS5, and thought I would venture off and look at CMS for a change. I found it very informative, and wanted to thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge. How often are you using Joomla for website development, rather than DW? I'm sure Joomla has its "place" but are you finding it "easier" than DW?

Great intro exactly what i needed to see. I have been working with CS5 and Wordpress on PC and it is so far pretty similar except for offcourse I use PC and WAMP and the WAMP server installs itself in c:/wamp is about the only main difference.

After much fidgeting, I finally got it to work. Seems that some computers don't like port 80, so I had to go with port 8888. Strangely, it does the dynamic loading with the main Joomla index.php page, but I get an error message with the index.php files in the templates. If anyone has a theory on this, I'd be grateful. Again, Matt, a great tutorial.

@goosed1 maybe you put them in the wrong folder or something? and the reason computers "don't like" port 80 is because it is usually in use by another program. For an example, skypes default port is port 80, so you cant use it while skype is open

@eleetgamer htdocs is the same as ww w in wamp server, htdocs is used in Xampp which is almost the practical things, also htdocs and ww(w) is where your website is going to appear, note that you are not going to be using this for real, these softwares are created to test your website that you WILL upload to the real net, To view your test website go to localhost and that is your webstie (your first time in ww(w) or htdocs file, delete everything in it, and download templates from websites!)
