Bharathi actually gave a very good explanation for this poem itz found in most of the poem collection books. As a gist of it, he is not happy about the spiritually enlightened people calling the world an 'illusion' or 'maya'. So he gets out looking at everything around questioning in a rather sarcastic tone as to why would somebody consider such beautiful and meaningful things as illusions.
