@DjSaiX17 Well I played Melee here for one hour, enjoys it alot wavedash's and all that. I play brawl and all that. Brawl plays faster even though it don't have Wavedash. The movement of the characters. Look at marths side B in brawl and his side b in melee, up b, down b (by frames). The smash charge is also few frames slower. I got you and the others point, but it's faster by very little. The only one that is faster in Melee is Falcon but that is only in jump speed.

In Melee it started killing around like.. 10+ or something depending on the stage. It WAS possible to live it. AXE's pikachu lived it (then failed at recovering) and I've seen a Ganon live it (don't remember who). It just didn't happen very often.

I'm 100% sure that melee's gameplay is faster, if you were to ask any pro player, they would tell you the same exact thing. It's really not that hard to tell. Watch some brawl videos, then watch some PRO melee videos, I'm sure you'll see the difference then. Melee matches are usually much quicker than brawl matches, hence, the less amount of stock used.
