Number 3 is wrong. The correct answer is Mauna Kea in Hawaii. Although the peak is only around 4,000 meters above sea level, the actual base of it is underwater. If you were to measure the whole mountain from it's under water base to it's peak, it would be over 10, 000 meters, much taller than Everest at only around 9, 000 meters. So technically speaking, Mt. Everest WASN'T the tallest mountain either before it was discovered or after.
