Brothers and sisters. There are a couple things we need to keep in mind here. 1. Matt Chandler was invited to speak in the first place. 2. We don't know exactly know why the sermon was cut originally, but can we give our brothers the benefit of the doubt and not judge their hearts? To their credit, it is back up. Let's love each other and not be so quick to attack and tear down.
These two preach the same Gospel!! and they call out the same Religious HYPOCRITES. People give themselves away by whining about how Elevation does church. STOP WHINING!
@IThinkTherforeIAm yes Chandler does... because his faith and his strength rests in a Sovereign God Who is completely and totally in control of his brain cancer and his brain cancer is God-given to show the world where Chandler's joy is found... and the cancer from Chandler's vantage point is good because God is good...
This is NOT biblical. It is a misrepresentation of Scripture and NOT the Gospel. How sad that a guest in the pulpit would not personify the spirit of co-operation and would feel the need to attempt to chastise where he felt a need. That is an abuse of authority and it is stepping into a place of discord. How sad for him.
@IThinkTherforeIAm If you think this is not biblical you don't read your Bible. He clearly stated that we were created for Gods glory. Gave tons of scripture to back it up. It hurt because it wasn't all hugs and rainbows. It's why the church is so messed up, because they think that that message is not biblical. I pray the Holy Spirit will open your eyes to the truth.
I completely understand why Pastor Furtick felt the need to remove this video from the rebroadcast. The sad misrepresentation of the Love of God, when Matt Chandler felt the need to say that God breaks hearts and God makes people sick "because of His Love" was just too much for Steve to bear.
@FlameofAnore This is something that they do every service (even when Furtick is preaching), it is not a sign to wrap it up. The band begins to play during the lat few minutes of the message to transition into the next portion of the service
@Koonethboy Exactly my point. Everyone knows that when the music starts while someone is preaching that it is about to be over. I've never heard a band start so soon and play for so long. And they're usually prompted.
@FlameofAnore First, this happens every week at Elevation. There is some very light
music in the background for the first few minutes of the message and then it starts back up for the last few (this video is not uncommon, but happens on a weekly basis when Furtick is preaching).
Second, they were prompted. Elevation has 6 campuses they link between the different campuses several times during each service, every campus has to be in exactly the same place in the service for this to work.
I have been attending The Village for over 2 yrs and this message was not a "dig" and nothing new or different from Matt than he has been saying to us for years. Even the part where he warns this church about some of the pitfalls of being a fast growing church. My favorite is how he reminds us all that we can't get "puffed up" about our church when we remember that we used to buy deodorant there! (The Village Church is located in a retrofitted grocery store). All for His glory. All the time.
I actually heard a sermon very similar to this a few months ago called "it is less about you than you think it is", it was by a guy you might have heard of, his name was Steven Furtick. I am amazed at all the people on here who seem to know all about Elevation without ever hearing a message or attending a service. Anyone who has ever been to Elevation would know that this message was probably well recieved their, because it is not that different from many of the things that Furtick preaches.
Love MATT CHANDLER such a good word hope its falling on the right soil but boy were waz PAUL WASHER all this HERESYgoing on in this church ,GOSH.Honestly just watching this elevation watever it s makes me wanna PUNCH THE WALL AND GO DEEP MY FIST IN THE SNOW OUTSIDE.JEEZ.

hopefully let this sermon be the beginining of the end of the feel good christianity that furtick, young, jakes, and hybels use to enhance their egos and pockets. im suprised 10 goons didnt come out of the crowd to stop him (chandler) during this. our lord is more unforgiving than people think and the idea we can use the bible for personal enchantment is blasphomous. put your faith in salvation, not men, personal wealth, or even family. Pray, Pray and Pray for the forgivness of your sins!
@iharber. Sorry Mr. Furtick is a heritic and preaches a false gospel. He and Mr. Chandler are not on the same team. Can you not tell the difference in the messages they preach? Furtick reads himself into the scripture. Everything is about him. There is very little said about Jesus when he and his ilk preach. Matt on the other hand preaches christ crucified for our sins. I don't see anything similar between these 2 gentleman.
Are you guys serious? Chandler and Furtick aren't on different teams. They're both Christians apart of the body of Christ working for the proclamation of the Gospel. They both do it completely different ways and they even talked about that at Elephant Room 1, but their differences dont make them enemies. You guys are ridiculous for pitting them against each other. It seems like all people try to do is look for division when the Bible looks for unity. Thats why Furtick invited him and why he came
@iharber Is that why Furtick had his sermon edited out of the rebroadcasting? Apparently they wanted to make sure the "focus was on Jesus." So they actually removed Matt's sermon. That is why people are posting his sermon on YT like crazy. Because Matt is the ONLY one at Code Orange that actually preached the Gospel and rightly handled God's Word. And he exposed how Steven and everyone else there was mishandling God's Word. Steven Furtick is NOT Solomon.
How telling and sad it is to see Furtick, while Chandler prays at the end of his sermon, not also praying, but pacing back and forth behind Chandler and scowling. Trying to strategize some damage control and spin? Wondering how to get the cat back in the bag?
@orgeronm personally, Furtick has a "crack smile" I've witnessed this amongst many people, it appears often that they are literally "talking out of the side of their mouth", I just did some quick research watching Furtick "preach". I am distinctly anti-impressed. Good call, keen eyes, thanks!
Matt Chandler brought the blindingly bright light of the Gospel to a very dark place. I agree with someone else who expressed amazement that the congregation doesn't seem able to tell the difference. The ability to think critically seems to be completely absent.
this sermon even ministered to me...I serve the creator of the universe, I am called to be a living sacrifice for a Holy God, it's the LEAST i can do yet I make my walk with God Himself all about me. I pray God will give me and all of us a humble and yielding spirit towards His perfect will. His delivery was intense but it's something the american church needs to hear. And yeah, you could tell Furtick wasn't happy, he wasn't eating up what the guy was saying like he did with others. Ah well...
Matt Chandler hits a home run. Only thing I don't get is why furtick would invite a true bible teacher to his heresy shindig especially when you new Matt would be teaching everything contrary to what furtick believes.
Anyone who makes this an attack against Elevation is putting their agenda over the message that was spoken in this video. That's their sin, and no one else's.
I celebrate the emphasis on the glory of God. Totally bang on. But he makes a massive leap when he says we can never play the part of individuals in the stories because it's not about us. "These things occurred as examples to keep US from setting our hearts on evil things, as they did." and "These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for US." (I Cor. 10:6,11). Plus, his talk is riddled with jabs. Not cool. Or Christlike. Far better to sit w/ Furtick over coffee.
Hey did anyone else track all the orange clothing that was worn, even by the guest speakers? Some as subtle as it was, what's up with that? Wondering if the church supplied them/ requested they wear orange. Even to the bracelet Christine Cain worn. Holly had on the same one a few nights later. Why do I get more of what seems like pushing a brand, instead of pushing Jesus?
guys im not really for futrick or pro futrick per say... but i think we really need to stop taking cheap shots at futrick and his church attendance and examine our own lives first. Expose futrick for where he is wrong with regards to the bible. Stop looking at the audience and look up to God and examine your own life. If you think futrick's crowd is not Godly then thats fine. youve made your decision, now move your live to be God glorifying and God honoring. thx :)
I just watched TD Jakes on the same stage, more like TD Yikes. What a contrast. Pure Gospel vs Pure Heresy, and they couldn't tell the difference. So sad
Been to elevation and furtick has a bodyguard w/him @ all times. What's he afraid of, someone coming up there and actually preaching the word like its supposed to be preached or the "holy rollers" :-)
They originally tried to argue for copyright infringement and squelched all copies of the sermon for a few days. That's not conspiracy...that's fact. In their rebroadcasts, they took out this sermon and put in an alternate segment that ran the length of the sermon. Again..those are the facts, not theories.
WOW! He seemed very angry at the way people were clapping and cheering for him! I liked it though, Matt Chandler is an awesome preacher. That's just my take, what did you guys think?
Wow you guys are delusional. They obviously could care less about internet bloggers yet you people spend all your time talking about them. Move on- If you guys spent half as much time preaching the gospel as you do criticizing some random church in North Carolina I wonder what could happen. I know one thing- you would actually be following the direct command of Jesus.
Sorry to disappoint the conspiracy theorists, but I just watched this on Elevation's vimeo page. They uploaded it. But yea thanks for showing us this highly "censored" video haha
@soccersuperstar991 Yeah...ha ha... we realize it's no longer being censored :) They "tried" to censor it in the beginning...until they were called out on it. They admitted it. So, they're obviously gonna make it available now. They would be crazy not to.
would love to see paul washer preach here. how he responds to the 'audience' clapping is great. check out his "shocking message to young people" (just google it). btw, chandler nailed it. only hope those who were there got "it".
100% with you on that. Although I doubt if this church knew anything about Brother Paul they would stay far, far away.
Another thing he got really mad about was music playing in the background. Listen to the sermon "Song of Solomon prayer as Communion" I've never heard him so angry at anyone before.
This video was quite possibly posted before Elevation filed its copyright claim on the original version that appeared on Youtube. So I will assume that the existence of this one is a violation of ignorance (unawareness) and not of malice or thumbing one's nose at copyright law.
The Power of the Gospel - What I love about this video is Matt's heart clearly displayed through this message. As I watched and listened to this message I saw two aspects of the power of the Gospel. 1. The faithfulness of Matt to unapologetically carry the truth of the Gospel to the people of Elevation Church. BUT maybe even more challenging to me was 2. Seeing the Gospel change Matt's heart as he preached the message. From holy anger to loving shepherd all in one message! Humbled! Great job!
This was a great message, but I don't think Matt Chandler intended to bring condemnation to elevation church, the sole purpose of every message is to build up the church which Christ died for. Just check the 7 letters to the 7 churches in revelation. The thing thats painful to see is when "Christians" almost celebrate another Christians downfall or correction. Tbh when we do that we're not any better than the children of Israel. Instead of sitting and waiting there for an opportunity to critici

Glad I watched the live broadcast on Friday evening. If I can add my perception - I did find it strange that Pastor Furtick didn't say thank you to Matt or mention anything he spoke about during the closing. Also, he looked VERY uncomfortable during the whole thing. This really doesn't sit well with me...I admired Furtick and Elevation... :(
@MissTigraTX Furtick was the one he talked about. He puts himself into the bible stories and tries to preach from that. As Chandler said, the bible isn't about you.
So it was censored but they change it back meaning it was a human mistake..
You can say alot but Elevation Chuch do have a revival, and God does amazing things, all glory to him. dont let human mistakes steal the focus of our almighty God!
thx for uploading. and thx Elevation Church for doing what ever God calls you to do, no matter how crazy it might be.
@MrFilipdavid The issue with Elevation and its teachers is the fact is that Furtick reads himself into the Bible. Furtick time and time and time again he twists the truth of the Bible by making it about man and not about Christ. Chandler delivered the truth of God's Word and nothing else. The speakers prior and after have preached themselves or/and Furtick. A pastor job is to feed the Lord's sheep, instead they mock those wanting more. The Bible is about Christ, not you!!
@MrFilipdavid Thank you for posting this. This message was not censored. It did re-air, and it will be available as a podcast for download when the 12 days of this revival are over. One of the my favorite sermons from Code Orange Revival so far, though, for sure! One Church worshipping one God. Love it!
Since this video has been censored, this enterprise called 'Code Orange Revival' should be changed to 'Code Red (Communist Party) Revival'. I believe China censors its television and the internet...
Go Matt! Wonderful message, I've heard him preach similar sermons before, so what did Furtick think he was going to get.?? Very, very mild warning to Furtick's church and they go mental....scary ! The other 'preachers' that I've heard - Ed Young, Christine Caine, Craig Groescell - all embarrasing, and Furtick himself...ooo-err
"I ain't do anything... I just studied some stuff and yelled at you... and you're a bit masochistic cause you wanted me to do that... call me a MORON again..."

@FlameofAnore This take alot of planning, every thing is planned out to
the second in advance, there is a time clock at the production booth that the speakers,

prompted because it was planned out in advance based on the length of Chandler's message,
not based on Furtick's feelings about it.

Sorry to disappoint the conspiracy theorists, but I just watched this on Elevation's vimeo page. They uploaded it. But yea thanks for showing us this highly "censored" video haha
soccersuperstar991 1 month ago
@soccersuperstar991 Yeah...ha ha... we realize it's no longer being censored :) They "tried" to censor it in the beginning...until they were called out on it. They admitted it. So, they're obviously gonna make it available now. They would be crazy not to.

would love to see paul washer preach here. how he responds to the 'audience' clapping is great. check out his "shocking message to young people" (just google it). btw, chandler nailed it. only hope those who were there got "it".

@MrYuppyCalvinist
100% with you on that. Although I doubt if this church knew anything about Brother Paul they would stay far, far away.
Another thing he got really mad about was music playing in the background. Listen to the sermon "Song of Solomon prayer as Communion" I've never heard him so angry at anyone before.

Six years ago I got saved listening to that sermon :)

MissTigraTX 1 month ago

Love it!

Ephesians 1:4-8 (King James Version)
According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace

Since this video has been censored, this enterprise called 'Code Orange Revival' should be changed to 'Code Red (Communist Party) Revival'. I believe China censors its television and the internet...

Of course Elevation would:
1. Cut out the live streaming of this sermon
2. Censor the recorded video
3. Delete the video for "copyright' purposes against Elevation church
Incredible sermon that rightfully called out the church and its people.
