I've tried this technique many times but in reality it's very hard to get ur hand jn the opponents belt like that in time before they change posture especially if the opponents belt is tight
WOW !! why are some people just so dumb? they always come up with the same stupid remark..."this would never work in a street fight" ..jeeesus christ......bjj is excellent for the street.......but there are moves that won't work....and guess what?...people with a brain already know that!.....just because one thing will not work does not mean bjj is no good......there is so much from bjj that does work because there is a phenomenal amount of moves almost endless that can be called upon..
Good for a tournemant match, but in a real fight you can't grab the belt. But I guess that you could grab the rim of the pants, but I don't think it would be as effective.
definitely. you can transition into the truck and a calf crank from it, to a guillotine, and to a carni, gogoplata, or omoplata when the guillotine fails.
I've pulled it a couple of times while rolling. You don't have to do it quickly or explosively, if the other guy doesn't see it coming and switch to the appropriate grips he is definitely gonna get swept.

this is for bjj, not a "real fight". People don't walk around in the streets with Gi's on.

how effective is this in competition? I'm assuming this has to be done very quickly and explosive in real time?
