When Ringo sent out his video message saying 'No more fan mail!' I thought to myself: "What a dick! Where's the thanks for the years of support? Fans LOVE to write to their idol, it's like giving a piece of themselves and he's rejecting it!"
Then I realised he's a Beatle, and with all the crap they went through with fame, sometimes enough is enough. I think he has the right to do whatever the f*** he wants! You go Ringo!
john used to knock george martin..but george understood him very well...george martin was not this straight laced guy...but he was pretty far out...just listen to his "walrus" orchestrations..he wrote those parts strings, horns, etc....really avante garde parts...john never gave martin enuff credit...cause those orchestrations are major contributions to that walrus recording...
sinatra always went out of his way to credit his orchestrators/arrangers like billy may, nelson riddle, axel stordhal
"While Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry and Buddy Holly laid the groundwork, the Beatles forever defined the musical and artistic boundaries by which all future pop players would be judged."
Wow - George and Paul playing the Ueks and sharing vocals with Ringo patting away is pretty cool. It feels to me like there's a little surge there, a moment of the spark of the sort of sparring or playing off each other that made the Beatles.
ptm se me cayeron unas lagrimas al escuchar esa primera version de " A day in the life"// Damn, I dropped some tears when I heard this first version of "A day in the life"
Neil Aspinall is always wearing a hat. In the whole Anthology series, he wears various hats during his on-camera time. Was he completely bald on top?
@Doleafol Yes. And he was sensitive about it. Notice that in the director's cut, he did several interviews without the hat. After seeing the director's cut, he had those interviews redone with his hat on, for the final TV/home video version.
@marioperozo10 Yes, George's face was a picture. It was almost like John had come back from the dead. His voice on the tape seems so clear as though he was in the room. It must have been quite a moment for George.
Only thing I don't get about the whole spanish thing is, since the Beatles are known almost all over the world, wouldn't people refer to them by their actual names, John, not Juan? Etc, you get it.
I mean, a lot of famous people have names that don't work in other languages, but they still are used in the original ways in those countries.
@LunitaScott23 excpet those aren't their real names. Paul is actually a middle name- his real name is James Paul McCartney, Ringo is also a fake name- his real name is Richard Starkey

Seriously, I remember when I was about 4 years old. My cousin played on her record player, "I Want to Hold Your Hand" and that was the first recording I ever heard by them. So I grew up listening to the Beatles. Couldn't believe how Lennon ended up shot to death. That was a shock to me.
When I was eight years old, living in Norwalk, CT, my Dad came home from work (in NYC) with a record he had bought at Sam Goody's. It was "Meet the Beatles." He showed it to me. "I don't know why, but I felt I should by this," he said. "I think these guys are going to amount to something."
im 11 and am completely enveloped in the beatles they are all i listen to! and if you go to like anyone of their songs i probably have a comment somewere in there! (slight exaggeration)
I'm 46, and listen to the Beatles all of the time. It's great to see you younger people getting as hooked on them as I am. If you ever get a chance to see Paul in concert, do it!!
Can someone tell me a little more about anthology? I know it's DVDs with interviews like this, and CDs too right? Original recordings or all re-worked stuff?
I'm 22...and the beatles is all ive listened to almost all my life... i honestly hope that when i die i come back as the archaeologist who discovers all this 3000 years from now... amazing stuff
I'm 19 and have known about the Beatles since I was young, but I only became really obsessed with them in the past year. Now I find it hard to listen to anything else but their music, lol.
@ahardy5891 You're the reason their music will never die, people find it time after time and don't realise how much genius was in their work. Keep listening man. :)
The Beatles are what they are, the most sensational, talented, witty and charming musical group of our time. Just because you weren't there when Beatlemania was going on doesn't mean you can't be a part of it. Enjoy this. It will never happen again. Thanks for the posting.
