cool example. i knew linux worked with the wiimote (and even works on the wii itself) but i didn't know that it could work with accessories too

If you're the originator of this software then thanks! XWii is exactly what ive been looking for. With a deb archive this was _very_ easy to set up.
This is confirmed working very well with Debian on the EEEPC using a HP Bluetooth dongle (bt500). Tested gaming under snes9x (2 player), and zsnes.
I've also been using it to remotely control mplayer.
