The story in this game was so lame. In the first game Victoria and the Woodsie Lord were evil demons who were going to unleash a bunch of monsters on the world and destroy it, but in this game Victoria is just a tree woman worshipped by hippies.

And return all to its primeval state.

Back to the wild, or something to that like.

And the pagans are hardly hippies,

they kill things, often.

And do a load of other interesting stuff, the flower sniffers cant. or wont

No, but i take it they killed people. Good for them, atleast killing a enemy is alot more useful than words spoken to random people.

But if one says hippi, first things that comes to mind are those pot whiffing, flower waving, noisy (often job and or homeless) people in colorful clothes.

Thief was/is an amazing game, If only they'd bring it back to the way it was, same gameplay and arty craftful cutscenes that it had back in 1999/2000, it was way ahead of its time! I remember creating levels in DromEd for Thief when I was 11 years old! crikey.

Dude your so wrong. She plucked his eye - yes, but he killed her beloved - that evil dude from Thief1: Dark Project - so they are more than even. Plus it seems that they almost fell in love with each other - remember what happened in the last cut scene, where Victoria dies? Actually Garreth cared for only two people in this whole Thief Trilogy - Artemus and Victoria - that"s my opinion.

Yeah, but Trixter was also responsible for Garret's wound. He just gave his payback for that. Victoria was the second who should be punished. No metter that she sacrificed herself in the end, he should remember, that he was betrayed by her in the past, and now the only "guarantee" that she wont do this again was her...oath? Nice joke...

There is much more to this oath than just words - it is something that Victoria cannot brake. She serves the Earth and if she swore on it then she will surely follow her own words. Plus, Garret gained much from this wound of his. So there is no need for him to be mad :-P

@plplplplomg Things are not always white and black, there are different shades to it. Garrett is not a positive character, he is more of a antihero type, so there is nothing wrong with that. This game is quite mature so its not just about good and bad actions, but more about consequences. Its like with growing up - first you just act, then you start to see consequence of your actions, and then you start to understand and predict them - this is the point in life where wisdom starts to kick in :)

I haven't played the first two thief games so I didn't know what Viktoria looked or sounded like even though I knew she was a plant-type creature. But seriously, I never imagined her like that. She's too.... I don't know, human.
