I think that hit's me the most is that this is reality. This isn't a made up story. This will happen to us.. You either end as Ellie or as Carl. And that makes me really upset. Having to share your whole life with the person you love. And ending up alone. This movie really touched me, and when I'm an old lady, I will think about this and smile. :)

This is one heck of a masterpiece. This whole scene just is perfect. It makes me smile, it makes me laugh, and dear lord does it make me cry--and not just a 'single tear down the cheek' cry, I mean full on sobbing. I may be a bit anxious about Brave, Pixar's up and coming movie, but UP will always remain one of my absolute favorite Pixar films, along with just my favorite films in general. <3

Poor Grandpa. While watching this short film i came up with the think that good people are very often experience such sad and painful moments. For Up to be able to do the same in six minutes, without dialogue, what Twilight took four books to accomplish either is an impressive statement on the part of this short, or says something about how well Twilight's author pays people to give positive reviews.

Although, the two are hardly comparable beyond being love stories. I mean, the relationships between Bella & Ed is... Not Good, unlike Carl & El here.

Since I first saw Up in the theater through today, there are still parts of this clip that I've never seen. During the cut scene to Ellie in the hospital with the floating balloon and musically, the strings drop out and the lone piano plays, I bawl through the rest of the clip and can't see a dang thing.

I remember seeing this in theaters, getting manly teary-eyed and instantly becoming afraid - Pixar brought me close to leaking testosterone from my eyes in the first 10 minutes of the film, what could happen next?

What resonates with me is how Carl and Ellie are seemingly opposites, and yet they're clearly happy with each. I know the whole 'opposites attract' thing, but I really can see a relationship like this happening in real life - it's probably pretty common. Bravo, Pixar!
