I have not shot at night so I cannot comment on the night quality. Other than cinema mode, I set the quality to the highest setting. I think its referred to as MXP.
I am running Windows 7 where the HD video is nativley supported. Also, turn on 'Cinema Mode' to get the real clear picture. Also there are three levels of quality you can set, I set mine to the highest. I forget what the codes are but it was relatively easy to find in the settings.

simultaneous off

so you use a windows 7 computer
on the camera you turn on " CIMEMA MODE" to get better picture
but any other set up you have on the camera alone
step by step my image on the camera is fuzzy at night
i heard i need to do something from the camera but this video is just amazing
