  • i like it. also like the wires everywhere, reminds me of my room. Keep up the good work!!!

  • your micron crashed?? how'd that happen..? I've got a micron..haven't used it much...will it eventually crash? that's BAD news for me..maybe I'll get a Roland Gaia

  • what all do i need to do exectly what you doing other than the micron and the alesis?

  • nice! you inspired me to put out some electronic tracks with the alesis.

  • are you getting all the drum effects straight or running it through filters?

  • Hey yo you kill that shit have you facebook or email???

  • kink of set up i'd like :)

  • Mean. This is one of the better Micron vids I've seen. Nice Bassline. Get it fixed and make more.

  • hi there, what program did you use? ive got an micron myself and really would love to check that one out

  • @TheKimmYboY i think i just recorded with audacity

  • @d3p3ch3mod3 i meant the program setting on the micron itself :)

  • @TheKimmYboY i'm not sure since my micron crashed and hasn't been working for a few months but it's probably something i programmed mysef because i try to never mess with presets

  • @d3p3ch3mod3 ok thank you ;)

  • how do you record with both helpppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp

  • @willxxxlife just plug the micron output into the back of the sr-18, its got an instrument input

  • @d3p3ch3mod3 thanks so how do you save your music how do you get it on cd do you use pro tools or some kind of daw

  • @willxxxlife program was probably just Audacity, it's free online if you search it out. i've got a little cable that has a jack on both ends and a thing that adapts 1/4 inch to head phone jack so i just ran it straight from the drum machine out to the computer microphone in

  • @d3p3ch3mod3 thanks

  • how do you record with both

  • Whats the difference betwen the Micron and a Microkorg?

  • @Loetrumpet 1. functionality: micron has a sequencer and drum sequencer with drum parts you can edit yourself which is why i got it. you can get drum sequence type sounds with microkorgs modulation matrix though.

    2. sound: they both sound digital but the microkorg might have a little more bass & better filters while the micron has like 5 times more kinds of filters. microkorg lets you tweak short delay without it resetting so you can perform with it.

  • @Loetrumpet the korg vocoder is a lot better and i think the MKXL has sampled piano. MK lets you edit patches where you have one knob that selects different subcategories but micron has a system where you hold a button and press a key and it brings up a category then you can set assign each knob. once you get used to it its probably just as fast.

Micron has like twice as much polyphony meaning more notes at a time so you have setup mode where you can have drums, a bass and lead simultaneously

  • @Loetrumpet One more important thing, in addition to having more kinds of filters Micron has FM (frequency modulation) and multiple kinds of it. If you're in a band and just want some vocoder and good synth sounds get a MK, if you want to do entire song demos with one device and learn to proram FM (which i recommend) get Micron.

It's just a question of taste, but I liked the Micron because I think Korg is like Nintendo, they could give you a sequencer but they want you to buy their drum machine

  • i like, i like a lot!!!!!!!!!!!

ima have to post a few vids of me jammin, i do it everyday n its a beuatifull thing.

  • This is tripping me out. I remember watching this video now when I first got my Alesis SR-18, but now I've got a micron sitting next to it, with a bunch of cables jumbled together on the table behind them... and I see this video and I'm thinking "Is this guy sneaking into my basement and making youtube videos during the night? Seriously if I saw the right couple little effects pedals, I'd be calling the police, 'cause I have this exact same setup!

  • hey a quick question... could you use the micron as a drum machine type thing as well?

  • @V19torrent it's got a button that says rhythms, you click it, it brings up a sequencer where you can record drum beats and choose the drum sounds you want from the list of program patches, you can even use melodic programs for drum sequencees if you want (instead of percussive sounds)

  • @d3p3ch3mod3 You have me. Im buying it. :) Thanks!

  • @V19torrent haha i remember when i was deciding between micron and microkorg it was driving me crazy because some of the reviewers said Micron had a drum machine and some just said it had pre programmed drummed sounds and that wouldve sucked... definitely glad i got the micron now

  • what software are you useing? and what computer do you have?

  • @ihojman all the sound is coming from the machines,

was just using the PC to record.. i ran a mini jack into the microphone port on my computer and used this recording program that came with my pc to record

  • Hmm, not bad. I have an old SR-16 that I bought over 10 years ago, and I've always loved it. I was considering upgrading my old Kawaii K-1 (from at least the early 90s) to a Micron. I have my hand in many different music genre pots (including post-punk), so the Micron's versatility would definitely come into play. I like this track.

  • derp use a cleaner snare and stay in key the whole time

its sooooooooooooooo good though no joke

  • @KevinKayotic good advice, i know jack shit about theory so i bought a music writing for idiots book then only read half of it

  • nice!

  • There was a song in my head today, and I could not figure out what it was. Was it one of those mellower Aphex Twin songs like Flim or something off Selected Ambient Works II? No that's not it, what was it? Oh yeah, it's this song!

  • I've already got the SR-18, now I just gotta wait to get my W-2 so I can get a Micron with my tax return. I can't wait and this video makes the wait that much harder!

  • Lovely sound, thank you for posting :)

  • Sounds awesome. I'm actually purchasing this exact setup.

  • i like i like

  • man nice music

    those drums sound awesome

are you running the sr18 thru some effects ?

  • no but it does have internal effects... also i was running the audio through a mini jack instead of a 1/4 to usb so i think the audio got pretty compressed or something

  • Great! +5

I was considering SR 18 but went with MC 505 instead.

  • Very smooth.

    I likes.
