  • all the videos of "5 year old gymnast doing 5 presses" are complete show offs.. what would people say if I put 12 year old press handstands??

  • you're great! All the other youtube videos of presses are 5 year old show offs- but its harder when tour older

  • it comes more naturally for kids with the flexibility and strength to weight potential. the trick is not to lose it or not to overdo it and get injured

  • these days they teach younger kids because it's much harder to learn when you're older. how did you learn at 16? any tips?

  • u r an incredible gymnast!!

  • Hiya. I think I am to tall for it. My legs don't lift off the floor. I am trying the press handstand, where you go from straddle on the floor. I am rubbish. I have to jump.

  • awesome!

  • any tips plz

  • u no ur mats ??were did u get them ??were thet expnesive im a gymnast myself nd need soft groung 2 practice on i have a trampoline but its not enough

  • My Dad is a Karate instructor and those are actually his fighting mats. I don't know where he got them from, but they are the type that are one meter square and they link together.

  • My friends little brother has things that look just like that and have the alphabet on them! lol, maybe those would do, I'm sure they'd be easy to find!

  • WOW hard work pays off! Your amazing!

  • Thank you! I just visited your profile ... where did all you videos go? I loved watching your daughter. She's incredible!

  • Oh thank you:) I am her biggest fan I think she's amazing too! I am a proud mom:) some jelous girls from our gym complained about our videos to the coaches and they asked me to take them down so for now I have them off

:( P.S keep it up your a great roll model!

  • what level are you in? and do you have any tips for getting a press handstand or how you prepped yourself to get it?

    i'm jealousss

  • I'm not the greatest gymnast around! lol I only competed level 5 last year, although our levels in Australia are quite different to those in the US. We use the open-ended code which means you are allowed to do harder skills in the lower levels. You start competing at level 1 and once you get to level 4 it's pretty much optional.

I plan to make a vid with some tips and press progressions very soon so I hope that may help you. Just start by trying to make your body as strong as you can!

  • Good job there! I'm always amazed at the strength it takes to pull that off and make it look graceful. Go for 2 in a row! And when you get it ... go for 3 ... :) Or what about pushups, being a gymnast you must be pretty good at those. How many can you do?

    Keep up the good work,

    nasaguy

  • I'll try 2 in a row eventually! I'm not sure how many push-ups I can do but I can probably do quite a few. But trust me, when I started I couldn't do any more than 10 or 20 and I couldn't even do 1 pull-up!

  • Kara--

Work your rhomboids, delts, triceps & traps hard in the gym & nobody will call it cheatin'. ;)

You're doing good. It takes guts to take up gym at an age when most gymnasts are retiring.

  • Thank you for your advice! I will keep trying to improve.

  • can you do some flexing

  • Haha maybe one day! lol

  • Hey Paige, thats awesome - very good :) I look forward to seeing more of your conditioning videos :) Keep up the good work :) James xxx

  • Thanks again, I appreciate the encouragement!

  • gee what a body! so strong

    pose some?

  • Hmmm not so sure bout that! lol

  • hey way to go! looks awesome :) you'll perfect it in no time!

  • Thanks!
