@TravellerFellow Valentine has started saying a new phrase when he wants my attention, especially if I am upstairs and he is downstairs in the bird room. He hollers "HI GOOD BIRD! HI SWEET THING! " over and over until I grant him the attention he is calling for! Funny part is, I have never called him sweet thing. I usually say that to my cats!! Then he says to me when I come to him.."such a good good boy!"

No...the cats all leave him alone. I think his growling and general noisiness tends to drive the cats away!

@srvinfinity Yes...life with Valentine can be confusing. But try it added with an African Grey who can mimic the sounds of my cell phone perfectly, including the walkie-talkie bleep!

@singingwithrosellas He is toooo smart sometimes. One time he was irritated at my son for being too loud after Valentines bedtime. He started yelling in his birdroom and I went in and asked him what was wrong. He looked at me and said : "Garbagehead shut up!" (Garbagehead is the name he gave my son) I said...what?? and he said again:" Garbagehead, shut UP dead boy!" That was how he got his point across I guess. Other times if he is not happy with someone, he calls them a vegetable!

Exactly!! I think he has oppositional disorder. If you tell him to be quiet....he screams, if you tell him to stop doing something(chewing the chair for example) he does it all that much more! He is a naughty boy!! But I love him dearly..

Valentine is actually very fond of one of my cats...they have been know to share my lap for a nap as I watch TV, as my Jack Russell terrier naps at my side. Such a Peaceable Kingdom!
