  • where did music like this go?

  • yadadamean

  • I love P-funk !

    I love Roger so much!

  • even wit a jheri cur, roger was fine. light skin dudes all day plus he was the very first black guy i saw wear ray bans

  • even wit a jheri cur, roger was fine. light skin dudes all day

  • Roger is the only artist that can blow twice n a decade.lol, Just a monster!!

  • this clip is the best part of the concert.

  • r.i.p to my idol roger troutman

  • coming from me...a 16 year old. his music has created such an impact on my music selection. People dont realize how AWESOME he was!

  • no dislike how fuckin nice is that..

  • Saw Zapp last week and they are weak without Roger... They had all the music down and they did the Talk Box well as Roger but they did not have the Charisma and energy that Roger had big difference. I did not expect much without Roger but had to state the facts. I also saw this video when it premiered on BET back in 1989 and it knocked my socks off at how Roger could make a live show a party, everyone in the room had a ball. RIP Roger I will play your music for the rest of my days...

  • @williemo44 it's kinda hard for the Troutman brothers to still cope with Roger and Larry gone.

  • @williemo44 but you have to consider that since this show 20 years passed, you don't know if he'd still have that same energy

  • Hey, from 4:20 is that Roger's son on the opposite talkbox on the right side of stage?

  • Who are all the Band members in this video???

  • Energy pure energy and skill

  • Bass singer Ray Davis is my hero. Not only are his vocal abilities out of this world but he also could keep up with dancers half his age and never miss a step. Proof of this is on one of the earlier parts of this show.

  • Yes i miss him also so much R.I.P roger

  • Long live Roger and his music

  • @sony197 epic fail man!

  • Man, all these ppl who're Auto-Tuning need 2 stop. Y'all're nowhere near better than Roger Troutman. If he was alive right now T-Pain would've never had a career and Lil' Wayne's "Lollipop" would've never been a smash hit. Roger would've ate every Auto-Tuner[especially T-Pain], and other Talkboxers[no disrespect to Devonte Swing and Teddy Riley] alive with a 20 sec. freestyle

    That's str8 up 300[like the movie "300"], not 100.

  • @KingOfDiamondz513 talkbox(roger troutman) and auto tune(t-pain) are not the same!

  • Thank you so much for putting this video up. I wish I could have been there, but I was about 12. I wish more performers were like Roger. Even on video I'm getting hyped up just watching it.

  • The greatest of all time, Roger Troutman, paired with the greatest analog synth, the Original Minimoog Model D! At 2:50 you hear the superior fat, thick, analog sound of the Minimoog. The Yamaha DX-100 would've sounded weaker...nonetheless, still great in the hands of Roger.

  • this is what pure talent look and feels like. It was great joy to watch thi Brotha do his thing live on stage. R.I.P Roger T.

  • 5:17 hMM GOODIE

  • This man loved what he did! Gave the performances his all! His entire band did! He loved his audience and was so humble to share the spotlight the way he did! :)

  • yea man, im an 80s baby to the full!! i dont think there is an appreciation for MUSICIANSHIP anymore and its sad...

  • dang Rip Roger Sr and Jr, Roger Jr was cute too..dang.pure talent..n thats Ray Davis w/ the deep voice..im only 24 n kno that,lol.-n to stamp it, look up Roger's interview wit Donnie Simpson on Video Soul on here, he talks about how he got Ray Davis on wit Zapp n helped him financially..

  • when i said help, that wasn't the dumbass answer i was looking for, shitface

  • those horn players can dance y'all!

  • You could see the smoke come out of the speakers.

  • you're exagerating, right

  • i watch this vid over and over but i still dont see smoke. help please!!!!!!!!!

  • Roger was smoking hot on the talk box. Only humans with special powers can see the smoke.

  • @swankrecords yeah i saw it too lol

  • I miss Roger so much damn!

  • @Delimac Well you can thank the Illuminati for killing him

  • @Delimac I guess I should feel thankful I had a chance to open for him :)

  • This is amazing footage. I had no idea Roger was so tuff live. Soul power like a mofo.

  • No way!! I never knew they made a video of this song! Str8 classic. Thank you for putting this down. Oh my gosh....so many memories.

  • Gotta love that "voicebox"!!!!

  • look up zapp i can make you dance larry the 1 who killed him will be playing the drums but on this i think hes in the back playing the percusssion go to the part3 video an at 3:50/3:58 you will c him with a mustach

  • im confused is that his brother?

  • Comment removed

  • goto part 3, 4:50, the guy with the white on the front of his hat. -- apparently

  • your absolutely wrong... The guy that your talking about with the white on the front of his hat, his name is Dale.... He is alive and well.. Roger and Roger jr died, and also the man with the deep voice

  • @Uzziahsneighberhood his name is larry..thats roger's older brother

  • Want to be your man the bassman is Ray Glover not Ray Davis... Roger Jr. Lynch is on the other keyboard... with talkbox like his dad...

Terry is not in the group yet..

    #1 Roger fan

  • That´s "Sting" Ray Davis!

  • he was in the temptations, right

  • Zapp and Roger for ever ever ever.....

  • RIP ROGER

  • roger lynch was to fine

  • TROUTMAN... Roger TROUTMAN

  • Well, Roger Troutman has a son named Roger Lynch.

But yeah, idk, just throwing that out there.

  • pure talent

  • shominakati...thats roger jr or lil lynch as some call...he pass away back in 2003 or 2004 from a head injury...RIP lil lynch

  • Actually that is Terry he is leader of the new Zapp. He is the youngest brother and they named the band Zapp after him

  • hey famu...the second guy on the talkbox doin I wanna be your man IS rogers son...lil lynch or roger jr, he was only a tennsger when this was taped...go to yahoo and type in terry troutman and it will show you a clip of terry workin the hell out the talkbox...get back at me....

  • rasta is right. Terry is a lil darker with a narrow face. he even has a youtube clip on here, u can clearly tell them apart. i tried to find a part in here where i can point him out but i cant. Lynch (the mixed lookin one) is Roger son, but it doesnt say on wiki that he is apart of the band for some reason.

  • Actually it does under the Present Line up section

  • met him before at the roxy very nice

  • What's the name of the second talkboxer playing synth too ? (at the "I wanna be your man" song)

  • I think that might be Terry, but I'm not sure, I'm still trying to figure that out too.

  • The one and only ZAPP......Immortal

    The Best

  • whats up lil roger? from battle creek michigan

  • i wish i would have got a chance 2 see him live and thatsz his song lynch on the talkbox towards the end

  • I agree, the best showman ever and that got a chance to see him will never forget the show RIP Roger , Roger jr and Mr. Davis

  • da bomb zapp best shit ever

  • sHAKeYoUrBoO0TyYy!i!i!i!i!i!i!

  • Roger T. 4sure was the greatest showman I ever seen. Top Flight 1st Class at all times.

  • Thats the late great Ray Davis on the vocals from Parliament Funkadelic "Tear the roof of the mutha sucka" R.I.P. Roger and Ray

  • R.I.P. Roger. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.
