  • Dear people with IQ's below 50. "Power to the People" does not mean political power. It's exactly what it says, power (oil) to consumers. Thanks for coming out, maybe you should jump on a rig and learn something.

  • I love this song; it's grown on my ass lol.

  • look at keven lund go that me push lol

  • The rich executives who control the oil industry will not take their share, they take far more than their share hence why they are rich. Any one of them has more money and assets than an entire crew of oil workers. Roughnecks are no tougher than any other kind of worker; if you give attitude to the person in the white hat, you can expect to have no job the next day. As for telling the boss to get out..well I have not met a single worker actually do that and keep their job.

  • them rich oil companys can have there share im just getting mine while the gettins good love roughneckin and as far as im concerned them "rich persons" can have their damn desks and keep their clean extreamly white hard hats out of my patch

  • 'Power to the People' -- How is working for rich and powerful oil companies, power to the people? These companies are managed by a tiny percentage of extremely rich persons who don't even set foot in the life of the everyday person. It's a rich man's game; the 'people' have no power in the game whatsoever.

  • I love the oilfield it has 30 foot joints buckets of dope & a pusher on every location

  • snake oil works :)

Yous guys are at front line. Do your stuff :)

That snake oil does work thou.

Especially in them air starters :)

  • the roughest neck around statoil roughneck on a triple

  • @favelify statoil?

  • most roughnecks these days are used to lay down machines, pick up nubbins, kelly/pipe spinners, plastic mud cans, etc...etc...i was lucky enough not to have to deal with crazy catheads...and you know it's cold when the diesel for the boiler gels up in the lines and won't flow to keep the boiler runnin on a rig up in northern b.c. on a night shift...but that's what happens when you get flushed out the patch in s.e. sask cuz oil is $12 a bbl and only wells getting drilled were gas...in 98

  • @flatlander306 Run you some Kerosene in with the diesel to keep it from gelling up.

  • dose anyone else think the end of this song sucks?

  • Love this song my dad is a rough neck for a natural gas

  • I never get tired of listening to this song...

  • Born to be a roughneck!

  • Love the archival footage

  • Only worked rigs for 6 months now, but it seems to me most of you are talking about working drilling rigs, which also seems like easier work then service rigs too me...

  • @Vancityvids it is lol

  • Trinidad 109E checking in son..........Harley Corder

  • The Alberta Advantage, only good thing coming from the east is a empty Greyhound bus, and the sun.

  • I don't care what anyone says....not ALL rougnecks are "good" people. Sorry.

  • Trinidad 91

  • i wanna be on a rig so bad i grew up around them but i dont have a hsd or ged

  • Grasshoppers

  • catheads??? lolol

catheads on one rig i was on were needed to get that draw works in reverse... Yup, a driller and a donkey to get it shifted :)

  • that sweater he is wearing is from Canada...,. so is the song

  • corb lund knows it :)

  • Fuck, fight and trip pipe! That's what roughnecks are the best at!

  • I meet a roughneck and he stood 6'9 and weighed 363 pounds........one of the hardest workers I ever did meet and he was even a down home family man.....super nice guy.....the only reason I met him was cause my truck broke down on the roade and being a good ole boy he had to stop and help.....AMEN and THanks again

  • I did a couple summers in the patch. Loved it, But I prefer the core rigs. Smaller crews when doing exploration work. And a lot less of the rules and regs that are leaching the fun out of smashing out the footage.

  • im 16 but i dream of working the rigs

  • NO ONE can roughneck like a canadian :P

  • @TheTbrewer77 Damn RIGHT!

  • @TheTbrewer77 Thats for sure, working like animals then snortin' BC coke and drinking beers on the drive home. waking up and doing it again... crazy bastards... FUCKING ROUGH hahaha

  • @SH4DES1 Hahaha awesome dude hahaha

  • haha...these message boards are comical. Seems everyone THINKS they the ones who have had it the TOUGHEST in the patch, but I tell ya what, until you work OUTSIDE of whichever lil fishbowl it is you work in, you just can't compare. Ive worked northern BC, spinnin chain in the -40s, Kuwait & Eastern India in the +50s and I tell ya what, the job is the fuckin same no matter WHERE you are. Be happy that you can work out of your own country fellas. Thats where ya got it good

  • @heavyoilindustries

i agree with you there ive worked coast to coast in Canada and ive been in parts of Europe and Middle east mostly afghanastan and man alive some of these placces you had to have your balls strapped on tight just to not lose your mind at the huge nasty bugs that wanna stay in your shadow!

  • Fuck y"all I"m an ole Alberta Roughneck We were, and still are THE best !!!!! Try and beat up an ALBERTA Roughneckl!!!!!

  • @DONNY12332 Alberta roughnecks are the laziest sacks of shit you'll ever meet in the patch. The best hands come from Saskatchewan, BC, or Newfoundland, anyone will tell you that.

  • @Grbgman buddy it doesnt matter where they come from. it the person not the location that makes the man.

  • @lost9559 wrong ..... it's the place pal.

  • 7 people who disliked arent the roughest necks around...

  • I love your sweater, Corb. Mary Maxim pattern. A classic.

  • anyone watch the movie "Slither"? The Band is in it playing this and "Gonna Shine up My Boots"

  • @WiknikFarmboy hell ya you tell that ass hole

  • Throwin chains is definitely quicker than using the iron roughnecks, but I guess most companies got tired of hearing about missing fingers and chain breaks.

  • oilfield

  • Good song. Wish there was a song bout blasthole drillers..... puttin dragons in the ground yeah

  • this was back in the day when the derricks were made of wood and the men were made of steel

  • PULLIN DRAGONS FROM THE GROUND!

  • Nabors 688

  • Damn-it.... I sure miss my rig... knew I had been.. BUT DAMN !!! Now I'm wantin to go pull back a few stands on a 12hr tripp... Almost felt like I was walking across those pits headed to the mud house when I close my eye...

  • Well, this sounds like a male only territory, but my son sent me to listen as he was once working the rigs. :)) Great song but my fave is still My Truck Got Stuck. I have one of those.

  • Corb Lund is cool. This music is great. Also gotta add that last time I checked, NO ONE in country music uses Auto-tune (F*** Yeah)!!!!

  • ...the last time i saw chain being used for tripping was about ninety seven

  • ...

  • I was spinning chain when derricks were made of wood and the men of steel.First job the old toolpush give me a .22 and a box of longs to shoot the woodpeckers out of the derrick. Oh and leeaspell oldson you can tell you never worked in the north (north of 60 that is)When you got off the plane at 2 in the afternoon and it was still dark in Inuvik and 58 below with a 30 mph wind and waiting on an otter to fly to the delta that was cold oldson.

  • Ive worked canada and the states, and alberta cold has nothing on North Dakota, only place ive ever been where even with winter front diesel pick up wont put out any heat lol, never felt cold like that in Alberta

  • @leeaspell Guess you never worked in the north sonny. We would get off the plane in Inuvik at 2pm and it was still dark night time for another 2 months, 56 below and a35 mph wind and waiting on an otter to fly to the rig on the delta. Shit kid I was spinning chain when derricks were wood and men were steel.Oh yeah love Corbs tunes. No matter you got dam fine country in the Dakotas.Dam fine women too as I recall.

  • @88brewski i hear all this talk about working up north and how "extreme" the weather conditions are. try trippin pipe wearing frc's on a triple in the south texas summer where by 6 am its already 95 and by midday it pushing 115-120 with humidity that will mess your world up if you aint ready for it. the sun will beat your butt so fast you'll be dying to go back to wherever the hell you came from. Now thats "extreme"! Thumbs up if your a roughneck from TEXAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @oilfield168

guess no ones a roughneck from texas.

  • @oilfield168 Everything is bigger in Texas besides the roughnecks Roughneck up cupcake Rocky Mountain drilling is where it is... go clean the sub worm

  • @youclint1 clean the sub? lol you're probably just some fkn worm that got his first oilfield job and is all excited to talk shit about his experience throwing chain for the first time. roughneck up, come down to texas, and come get some puss....... Weathers startin to get pretty nice down here, bet your bitch ass couldnt last a week hahahaha

  • this guy used to play bass for "the smalls" a punk/metal band too funny

  • And a big tip of the hat to all the good ol' boys in the trades who make sure theres pipe to sink, and rigs to work on!!

  • It doesn't matter if they are Canadian or U.S. All roughnecks are good people. My last job before I retired, I used to work the Jonah field in Wyoming as a heavy equipment technician and sometimes the repairs would take all day and into the night. The roughnecks would hang right in there with me. Lending a hand or getting me anything I needed. One night a group of them served as a wind break around me as I worked 6 hours on a crane in sub-zero temps. My hat is off to all of them.

  • @4020classic i dont wanna read all that...so i just thumbsd it up :I

  • awsome song

  • this song pumps me up to go back to work.

  • totally agree! Raisebore rig pig here, and when ur trippin up and down 600 m of 14 inch pipe, we get er done...... its -32 right now too!

  • @Klens75 we still use spinnin im on trinidad 87, use to be jade 14 in the day

  • @Klens75 Yo Bro I saw a chain being used last night when our pipe spinners fucked up on us... I threw chain so we could trip that shit back to bottom and put that bit on a dig... • @stupidkid well buddy im up north now and it really isnt that bad. why dont you try down south 1 hitch. i was workin with trinidad and the canadian that was the "technical engineer" said he would rather deal with the cold to. qiut cryin and shut up puss. we're all doin the same thing. damn dude chill out and have a beer, eh. lol

  • @bradoe2003 you sir are an idiot, up north is probally like colorado for you, your a fucking puss, texans didnt invet roughnecking, albertans are true roughnecks, and you are really confusing -60 c and -30 f, u dumb **** also a canadian prefers the cold since we are used to it, cold to you is -10f, thats like summer weather up here, just stfu, your making yourself look like an inbred pos

  • @bradoe2003 OH REALLY?? Come up north here. see how long you like it. then work the oil rigs near the US/Canada border. you wont make it 10 minutes. THEN work the rigs up north(Where the roads are ice, and we drive on lakes) and work a FULL shift on the rigs. You wont be complaining about the heat ever again.

  • @TravisDMeier thats a 14 hr day fyi

  • @bradoe2003 Spent time in texas, good lads down there. Honestly, when you get down to your average workin joe, Canucks and Texans are alot alike. (in my experience) So fuckineh! lets pop a cold one!

  • @bradoe2003 Well engineers are pussys and dont go outside too much, but im having a beer and your right, we're doing the same shit so CHEERS!!!

  • As folk goes country :-)

Ich liebe es! (love this song!)

    Greets from Germany,

    realcheyenne

  • @SKLURR hey you can suck it. we dont have heated and cooled doghouses down here and we may not have -35 but we do 110 to 115 heat in the summer. its a little easier to stay warm than keep from stroking out from the bad ass heat. so as far as im concerned we started roughneckin and you fuckers just wanted to try and be like us. lol.

  • @bradoe2003 pussy, i'll take the heat any day. You try thawing lines out at -60F, that shit is rough. pour a cup of water out and it turns to ice before it hits the ground

  • @stupidkid107 Where do you go that is -60f? (-51c) I doubt you have ever even seen near that?

  • @TravisDMeier give them the north boy welcome when they drop some balls and come on up

  • @TravisDMeier it got that cold in our town just south of edmonton last winter.

edmonton international airport said it was -53 at around 11 30at night. brothers freind walked home drunk in only a hoddei that night ha ha!

  • @bradoe2003 No ROUGHNECKING is CANADIAN!!! only reason we heat our rigs, is because otherwise they would freeze solid......I'll bet you anything, ALBERTA has more oil then all the ass-mericans
