This cracks me up that 53,000 people have seen this *REHEARSAL* video (of one pair of the fighters of the show)... and yet on 42,000 have seen the actual performance video, lmao.
And hey, only a mere 4000 have seen BOP II. Oh well. Guess that's how it goes... people want to see rotoscoped sabers, not what were live shows, heheh.
@IrishCinema7 lol, this was *WAY* long ago... I almost forgot about this vid that Joe rotoscoped (when he was still with LA Jedi)...
We were going at half speed, but yes of course the "force" thing is just a timing thing. "Pushes" are pretty simple, really... but check out the performances (BOP I and BOP II) for the saber PULLS!!
Those actually took some better timing & practice to make them ~JUST~ right...
Yes, Sith do try to kill each other. If you read the books, Darth Maul was brought back from the dead much like Anakin was. After Anakins conversion to the dark side he was met by Darth Maul and Darth Vader was victorious over Maul.
shows what you know thats how sith lords are chosen by whoever can kill the master...... but yeah this vid is super slow lightsaber duel are made great by their swift and agile attacks work harder but for now you get a 2/10 simply cause I actually watched the whole thing...haha lame
no two Jedi wouldn't try to kill each other. For the Sith its all about power and who has the most. The sith would kill each other if it meant establishing dominance
They do in "Last Sith Standing"--which is a great vid, btw! Check it out if you're reading... :)
JediArchives only did one "pass" and essentially one mask at this stuff, so he only used one color. He was just playing around for practice, having a bit of fun. Even the choreo is just a rough rehearsal, nothing full blast. :)
2 sith would indeed be at each other's throats, probably more often than sith vs jedi; that is unless they lived during the reign of the Brotherhood of Darkness. Though they'd still be out to get each other.
LOL 2 siths wouldn't try to kill eachother? how the hell do u think they change leadership? apprentice always trys to overthrow the master. some succeed, others don't. but ye they fight eachother as much as they fight jedi
There is a continuous struggle for power among the sith. They fight and kill for respect and power, especially each other. The movies are just a toe in the ocean that is the star wars universe, and a pretty poor example at that. Read some books, or comics, or watch clone wars... and see how deep the rabbit hole goes.
Depending on the hilts used and polycarbonate blades... they can be.
Also, in this particular rehearsal--I was the only one using a thick-walled LED saber with a metal hilt. The gent with the staff was using a wooden prop until the LED staff arrived months later...
So... how many times did you have to say "THIS IS A REHEARSAL" before people actually caught on? Just reading some of the comments I saw at least 6 times... by page 4... Wow. I'm sorry. lol I loved it, though. :) Rehearsal or not.. it pwns me. ^^;
i liked it. the lightsaber affects were spectacular but there needs to be some force action and it should be a little faster but besides that. a great vid. well choregraphed, realistic, i gave it four stars.
Ok, I have to say this. This video is a rehearsal for a very good on stage performance called the Balance of Power. This sequence in particular is in Balance of Power part one. It's done all live and camera and choreography are spot on. So before you go saying, "This video needs better effects, camera angle, and choreography, GO LOOK UP THE BALANCE OF POWER FOR YOURSELF! >:{
You, Ryan and Dorkman, and the Ho's brothers should all get together and make a short film. All of you guys have great skills in different areas. p.s. After you do the movie, take it to a live performance. All of you guys are so good,
I think Mr. Lucas would enjoy it very much. Hint. :)

I wrote a Star Wars book, and if they wanted a good story I could lend it to them. But one word of warning: it contains 26 lightsaber fights so they will be quite busy!
Oh and by the way the video is very good but you move a little slow and it shows out fake quite strongly. Perhaps moving a little faster and fighting with passion would make it look a little more real. Just a little bit of advice from me.

There are many parts in there in which it seems you are trying to hit each other's saber and not each other. Also, spinning around or "flipping" your saber has no strategic value and can more often than not get you killed in a real sword fight. so are you a fencing expert or a martial arts expert....remember bruce lees argument? flashy theatrics in martial arts, besides this is for fun, they are not serious
Wrong. We are aiming for targets--if you can't see that, you are a moron.
Also "spinning and flipping" is a part of both staged combat AND other martial art (Wu Shu), so good luck at this "strategic value" garbage.
SWolf, you obviously have no idea what kinds of skills it takes to create a project such as BOP I, BOP II, or any kind of staged combat production. So until you EDUCATE yourself... keep your long-winded comments to yourself.
A few tips from a professional swordsman: It looked way too choreographed. This is usually bad. Make it look like you really are in a duel to the death. There were so many times you could have had a killing stroke. Spinning around and "flipping" your sabers have no strategic effect and may be eyecandy for those who are uneducated in martial arts, but look silly and stupid to those who are educated.
I AM educated, you moron. This was a rehearsal, you dolt. Don't tell me about choreography... it's clear from the response to BOP I & BOP II that you are in the MINORITY.
If you're a "professional swordsman", where is your work. Staged combat is a farcry different from "true" swordplay. Go watch Jet Li... you'll see just as many spins, flips & other fun--only much faster with movie cuts, graphics, cables, safety, & that they work 5-7 days a week.
Un Payaso Saltarin! =). Esos Efectos Estan Pesimos al igual que la coreografia(Te descubres demaciado,yo te ubiera cortado las piernas en el primer movimiento).Tu Oponente(double LightSaber) Es Mas Habil.

Good points, only thing was that JediArchives (Kit Fisto on FXsabers) did this just for fun, had to use relatively junky quality footage of our rehearsal, and only did one mask--so only one color was going to be possible.

Ever heard of "The Rule of two?"
Two there should be, no more no less.
One to embody the power, the other to crave it.
Which means: when the master gets weak, the pupil must raise to sieze and take the mantle of Dark Lord.
So yes, Sith do fight each others.

I guess I have to mention it yet AGAIN:
1. This was a rehearsal. 1/2 energy, no costumes, about the 10th time we went through it. This was:
2. part of a larger production in which FOUR other pairs of actors are battling at the same time, same stage.
3. NOT a "finalized" version of the choreography.
4. Camera wasn't shooting a "film". It was to shoot the REHEARSAL FOOTAGE for review.
5. JediArchives rotoscoped this out of enjoyment, fun & practice. The final project was 100% live.
