I love the information and second or maybe many different idea's of peoples thoughts and understanding of events of the quote BIBLE perhaps one day all nations will be led to the fullest of truths.One thing I personally do believe is GOD no matter what you call him is GOD of all peoples but they all have split him to their personal likes and how they want GOD to be.. what happened in the garden had nothing to do with an apple.But it did have to do with sin.It is akin to the sumerian text. The hebrew words for touch have sexual meanings. Cain was said to come from the serpent. Not to mention cain is not listed in adam genealogy. Only seth.Abel was dead.research what really happened in the garden of eden.Also notice when yahushua(jesus)speaks about a tree no one takes that literal but they do when they read about the garden.

I liked this episode. The location of Eden is of course open for debate but I agree with pretty much everything else said about original sin. Think about this: The exile of Jerusalem sends the priests to Babylon where they first start writing the Torah. It would make sense they would write in a reason why they were banished. Also why names of people and places from older Epics in the area would make their way into the final story of the Torah.

Interesting thesis, but the most speculative and least supported one of the epsiodes of this series. However, she is most likely right about the interpretations of the snake in the garden of eden story. Check out the gnostic christian intepretation, for example, it is bt far more in harmony with the actual scriptures as a whole. But gnostic christians and other original christian groups were hunted down and killed.

Zecharia Sitchin says in his books that Adam was a name used to describe the human race, not one naked guy in a jungle without sunscreen. He goes on to explain that Eden was a place the Sumerians believed, in which the human race was artificially and genetically manufactured by "the gods". This was in order to have lesser beings on the planet dig for much needed Gold for their own planets atmosphere. The Sumerians are the oldest and the FIRST to mention Adam or Eden.

Never take the bible at face value. it is not a True history of the people of israel. when given the option of facing the Truth or up holding tradition, the bible writers, especially those in judah, invented ways to uphold tradition and belief in their superiority almost every time.

The Rabbi stated that Adam could not be a king because he had no people.

Gen 4:17 And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.

Where did Cain get his wife?How could Cain build a city if there were no people?

The king of Tyre built the temple of Solomon and it was exact replica of the temple of Melqart a god who's name means "King of the City".

I disagree with DR. FRANCESCA STAVRAKOPOULOU when she complains that the Biblical writers were being unfair to EVE and the serpent.. Both ADAM and EVE and the serpent, disobeyed GOD. GOD punished the serpent by taking away his legs for both he AND his descendents. Both ADAM and EVE were PERMANENTLY were expelled and permanently banned from the GARDEN OF EDEN - not just EVE. And what makes FRANCESCA think that most wives are

DR. FRANCESCA STAVRAKOPOULOU indicates that it was the last ruler of JUDAH, KING ZEDIKIAH who was the real Adam. We know he  fled the city of Jerusalem as it went up in flames because of the Babylonian KING NEBUCHADNEZZAR. But ZEDIKIAH was caught by the Babylonian. He was forced to witness his two sons being executed and then he was blinded. No, KING ZEDIKIAH could NOT have been ADAM.

I must disagree with DR. FRANCESCA STAVRAKOPOULOU when she says that the GARDEN OF EDEN could have been located in a temple in JERUSALEM.

If so, WHAT race of people built it ? Why has no archaeological trace of it ever been found in excavations ? Why is there no mention of this Garden of Eden temple in occupying Egyptian records ? Is FRANCESCA saying that ADAM and EVE are Israelite that have been banned from this GARDEN..

Regarding 6 she is a NOBODY in Academic circles e.g. Theology. She comments a lot on History & Archaeology yet her opinions disagree with leaders in those fields. As for 'what is opinion and what is fact' her opinions are not shared by other leading experts. Try remember even in her field, she is a NOBODY. For e.g. she thinks Moses never existed but cannot prove this to be true.

@CloudsBeyond No leading historians believe Moses existed as stated in the Bible. It's true that on some points her opinions are quite personal and not shared by the academic community, but on the whole she's just talking about common points of view shared by scholars.
