  • I have Vashti bunyans all over my feet

  • i love the fake audience sound!

  • @AtariGuy666

The audience sound is not fake. This clip and the other one "Some Things Just Stick in Your Mind" were the two songs she did on Shindig in the fall of 1965.

I saw in on television, and you she is ethereal!

  • @AtariGuy666

I meant you are right, she is gorgeous.

  • She has such a sweet and haunting quality. I really don't have the words to express my thoughts, and what words that I do have are all short of the mark. You cannot help but love her.

  • The guys voice at the begining and what he says sickens me

  • One of those rare 'pure' artists - nothing contrived about her at all.

  • *Faints*

  • Vashti is so wonderful! And she is still looking great and performing her beautiful songs!

  • such a beautiful song full of meaningxD

  • wow... announcer is fucking scary.

  • she's so charming<3<3<3

  • Does anyone have an mp3 of this song? it's so beautiful and I can't seem to find it anywhere!

  • Vashti always seems to be in a category all her own. People today invented the whole "freak folk" genre around her (and the ISB) but she transcended even that. She never seemed to care if her music sold; she just wanted people to listen. She even looked beautiful naturally. A cynic would assume her admirers singing today want to cash in on her cult status that she never cared to have. She is that rare figure who achieved praise from folks who long ignored her. No1 else comes close!

  • The video's from VHS?

    She's really an angel.

  • 喜欢这种低声吟唱

  • sometimes i want to be alone (: i love vashti's songs

  • love this

  • One of her ancestors is John Bunyan, who wrote "The Pilgrim's Progress"-

  • dlanodrelda:

She says that isn't true in an interview

  • (*_MEE TOO

  • Getting on a horse drawn wagon to journey to the outer isles of Scotland...

She is an almost mythological being of beauty.

  • your words are strong...

    yes i think the same...

She's like an angel who felled accidentally upon earth... a morning where a cloudy sky was suddenly pierced by the sun...it was somewhere over the Britanic Island...

  • Loved that comment BohemianConspiracy!

    You are a poet.

  • uhhhmmm sometimes only ! thanx you sylvanhart...

I relisten to the song now and feel it as a quite sweet introspection to her soul with paradoxaly full of distance when she sings the song ...as detached... it nearly touch a dreamy tempo... it's a bit cloudy and beautiful...

  • i've heard somewhere that she is (or was) married to Donovan...

    is it true ?

  • no ...

  • are you sure ? ...cause your answer is so short...no details ?

  • she's always been engaged with one Robert Lewis with whom she lived sometimes in a commune created by their friend Donovan in Skye island; this was before their long journey

  • i knew that she was somewhere connected to him...but it's just history now... and maybe the wheel of chance has turned... a live show by Vashti will sell a lot of tickets... as Donovan...and maybe more than him...

But the number of people in a live show does not mean a thing...when i look at the top of the charts !

  • @BohemianConspiracy

No, she and her boyfriend at the time went to live on an island off the coast of Scotland that Donovan bought and he started a commune there. She and her boyfriend traveled in a gypsy caravan. It's in Donovan's book.

  • @bloderme thanx for your info... a Donovan's Book ! ...i'm a fan of the Scot Troubadour , i will maybe buy the book for this Christmas !

  • great song.

it's impossible not to think about francoise hardy seeing her and hearing this song.thank for the people who put this document.

  • I think Another Diamond Day is the best folk album ever written. i even think it's better than what bert jansh (may be spelt wrong) or that other guy erm devandra etc

  • modern folk lack of something...i don't know what really is...maybe it lacks of freedom and innocence...it's diffult for them to top the music of the kings and princess of the distant past...

  • I don't think that it lacks of freedom or innocence... but it's different, I agree. Times are different, everything is different.

  • yes maybe it's a question of time...but when i tell you that(bout freedom and innocence)...when i hear other music of that time as some late 60s Moody Blues, the early Carpenters, classic Simon and Garfunkel...and a lot of other artist...they have something who had disappeared now...those delicate sound are different now...and they don't touch me as deep as 60s to mid 70s stuff...something has changed...

  • is there any video of her doing "Winter is Blue"?

  • she's like Hope Sandoval... a fantasy... a creature of poem and woman of brother grimm histories...she helps to dream

  • this song is instrumentaly not so far from is superbe 1966 "love song"

  • she is a great singer.sure.

why the dump on the Shins?

if your thinking of poser crap indie rock,

    that aint the shins.

  • Vashti is a terrific singer Shinsaholic, why don't you go listen to some crap indie rock made by posers who will be forgotten in three years after get into them. Vashti's music will last through the ages my friend, the Shins ....hmm.

  • how do you know if this 'shinsoholic' guy is insulting her or not?...he just said it looks like she wants to be alone here...which is sorta a compliament cause it goes well with the song...lol

  • she does look like she wants to be alone here.
