Lebanon and egypt has the best musicians and belly dancer and singers... although some should not even sing like haifa or dance like lucy or what ever her name is called but in general those are the best two schools in oriental music... Lebanese kolhom zo2 and egyption are extremely funny :)

I agree with you. from watching many lebanese dancers I noticed their dance is limited to the hips and their movments are too strong and too sharp. I prefer the egyptian style, slower and more sensual and feminine

this is not true bellydancing. she has way too much movement of her entire body. and WAY too much just plain gyrating. bellydance is much more belly and less arms and hips than she does.

I think they choose for their TV programs model-like looking women on purpose. Which means that the appearance for them is the first priority, and only far after - the dancer's potential. Probably, this show makes accent on mens' audience rather that womens'. Because they look at the dancer's sexuality rather than the ability to dance. And this ability becomes unimportant at last.
