This beat was acceptable back in the day. Nowadays, beats like this are considered "played out" and "not with the times". Dre has fallen off considerably these days and has gotten quite lazy. If Detox is meant to be a concept album, his beats need to be a lot more intelligent. Old Skool is fine but incorporate a newer new skool without the 808's and we may have something.
@TheYoungTopGun I wouldn't want him to do southern type beats. Why would you say such a ridiculous thing unless you completely took my statement out of context? Because southern beats are mainstream? Yeah, they are but it ain't like that's selling the most right now. Eminem's album doesn't have anything southern on it and that album's been No. 1 for like four weeks now. Dre needs to incorporate what made Hip Hop great but evolve it to where it's still respectful, and not a joke.
i never said thats what you want him to do, and no matter how many records em sold, the fact is that the south controls hip-hop right now. i personally hate lil wayne and the rest of them so i wouldnt want him to sell out and start making crap beats just because it sells more records. i recently heard a new beat he made, and personally it shocked me. it wasnt bad, but it wasnt what i expected, it sounded like a techno. the beat he did on the dr peeper commercial, now that beat was hot
@TheYoungTopGun Of course I said that. That's my name, chum. His style is played out these days. His beats are too average. He needs to start composing shit and really putting work into a song. Now I'll use an example. RZA's probably one of the few producers who can actually write a song. And quite possibly, people were scared off because they didn't understand what he was trying to do.
@TheYoungTopGun "So Bad" by Eminem off the Recovery album. There, dispute that. You can also explain to me why Eminem decided to leave "Ryders" off his album considering that beat was much better and probably one of Dre's better beats these days.
@TheYoungTopGun Pretty much what JayZisgarbage said. lol, this fool actually named himself "JayZisgarbage". But I really didn't like that "So Bad" beat on the Recovery album.
@ofcourseisaidthat@JayZisgarbage everyone has there own opinions, if you think ryders was better than one Dre's better beats these days, thats your opinion. i havent heard of that song yet, because im getting tired of Em really, so i didnt bother downloading or buying his album but i'll check it out
@imortaltechniqueVEVO Executive producers handle finances and the budget for making an album, even legal issues if necessary. He only contributed two beats for the album, the rest is from outside producers.
@ofcourseisaidthat So what if it's "played out" or "not with the times"? I doubt even the record going public cares whether it is, they'd still buy his album whenever the fuck it comes out.
this is fuckin dope ... people hate on the commercials, but the music in them is TIGHT. smartest way to advertise for your album AND get paid. fuck the haters
When Dre drops that shit, you are gonna be like damn! that was worth the wait! I have a feeling this is gonna be something we have never heard before.
unfortunately a real track with this beat doesn't exist...
i think coors asked him to produce a unique beat for their commercials, so either he produced a new one or he just took an old beat he never released. maybe this "coors" beat is a leftover from 2001... who knows
if i ever met Dre, i would ask him to do a song with that beat.
