the problem that the retarded ppl who criticize this team didn't ever watch them or even know the rules of this classy sport they didn't even know how good our team is All what they are doing is to object and offend I remember in beijing 2008 I didn't sleep till the early morning to see the team of my beloved country Egypt who qualified to the finals and did a great job there our team is the only arab and the only african team qualified to london best of luck guys I realy support you
Such a great show. Am Arabic and understand the culture, dress code etc but it's not what they are wearing or the dance that is wrong it's the mentality of some dirty minded people. Why can't you appreciate the dance and the beauty of the show and look at as talent rather than Condemn it. Just work on your small minds
@autumnleafs09 Brainwashing is a strong thing. It's not that the people have dirty minds (maybe they do, but I don't believe that's the main reason) but they've been told wrong things all their lives. Covering one's body was meant as a sign of modesty, but religious extremists think it's a law with NO exception.
@ESO529 when was bikini a no-no in Europe? Kindly enlighten me! Regarding Egypt, yeah bikini was normal during the time of black & white movies & early colored ones, which means upto early 1970's. Nowadays its not common with having 80-90% women veiled. Sit in any street & watch women & do your math. Don't make your count at Marina, Hurghada or Sharm... Oh, and relax, we're not having a fight here!
@hemanian Did it ever occur to you that it is not really your business what they show or don't show? Freedom of expression (also this kind of expression) is part of democracy - something Egypt will have sooner or later no matter how much the Salafists, the Muslimbrothers, the USA and Israel are fighting it off.
Nadj81: You work at a resort probably by the red sea or Sinai, right?! Obviously you've been there too long that you've forgotten the rest of Egypt & Egyptians... lol!
anerik90: Nobody mentioned any brothel. If you are not Egyptian, please do not argue. I am Egyptian & I know the culture here & the dress code for the majority of the population!
Holy small minded. I work on a resort in Egypt, and a lot of Egyptians and other ladies from that end of the world do not wear head scarfs. And no, those are not full body suits, I have seen quite a few Egyptian women in bikinis. The full body suit looks much different than that. It is easy to look up and see who were the 2009 qualifiers.
@hassansh1975 This is definitely team Egypt synchronized swimmimg from 2009. The teams competing from the FINA website were: The national federations of Brazil, Canada, China, Egypt, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Russia, Spain and United States.
@Proacguy1 It definitely is a body suit with costuming sewn over it. It's easy to tell when they extend their legs in the underwater positions- a difficult and physical routine!
@hassansh1975 No its not,,we have many Synchronized swimming teams in Egypt and we are one of the best countries of this game,,,if you are not well informed plz visit cairo and alex clubs
Off course not Egypt. Egypt?! LOOOOL. Less than 0.00001% of Egyptian girls wear bikini. If such a team exists in Egypt, they will all have their hair covered. Besides, their faces don't look Egyptian at all...
@hassansh1975 what is wrong with you? this is a sport not a brothel get your mind out of the gutter this team has been qualified to the 2012 london Olympics representing egypt
@hassansh1975 Quite clear that you have no clue about Egypt, its customs and its women! Egyptian women were wearing bikinis at a time when it was still a no-no in Europe. Go get a life!
A good start for Egypt but the girls are overweight and need to get more synchronized.
P.s. I'm Egyptian and my mother was one of the first female athletes of my country. Proud of her and all the great women of Egypt who have to fight their way through our pathetic misogynic culture.
احسنت
