Why couldn't you just use stone exit and reenter I've never tried thus rare game it might be Immune to stone but if not it should be much quicker than killing then using the mine cart...

I've been using Ninja Sword with Balthier and its proven really useful, just going to giruvegen in my current playthrough but the top ninja sword at only 80 attack doesn't compete with katana's :( was hoping there'd. If he doesn't appear can you just keep running back through screens by turning around until he does :/ seems really annoying to try and get rid of the flyers

i got my 1st after 6 chains ^^ but from the 1st spawn until the 2nd took me an hour :( after that he spawns like once in every 5-10 minutes..provided i took the cart in order to zone 2 screens away
What is the most efficient way to get the Bombshell to spawn? Do you really just go back-and-forth, putting up with the load screens? Or is there a better way? Would it maybe be more efficient to use the cart from Site 11 to Site 5 all the time rather than running back and forth?
@Michel0555 If I remember (haven't played the game in a while) ninja swords have a high probability of chaining their attacks, which makes up for their lack of power.
Also, if you ever intend of fighting Yiazmat, having 2 people using darkblades makes the battle go much, much, MUCH, MUCH, faster.
ha ha I've always been lucky I got 3 Yagyu Darkblade in three kills took me like 5 minutes and ksad96 keep a healer recommended ashe or fran and put all three of your active party 1st gambit to ally status=ko > Arise if you're still having trouble if not then I answered seeing nobody else did

A small tip for chaining. If you ignore the first item drops at earlier chain levels, your chances of progressing in chain level increase highly. I was at chain level 4 at only 30-chain.
As for the drop % for the Yagyu Darkblade by chain level:

So, don't pick up anything until you're on chain lvl 3 at least. It took me 3 hours to get my first blade.
I think thats kinda the same idea as chaining Helvetnek. I chained to 47, got a level 3 coin and I was given a suit of grand armour from Helvetnek. It took me about an hour, but if people want to be sure of getting the equipment- they'd best chain.
I wish there was an accessory called lucky ring that increases the drop rate of items by at least 20% (they have 1 in Kingdom hearts 2). Come on square. Why couldn't you make an accessory like that? Thumbs me up if you agree.
@nobly94 I believe constantly running back and forth between the lasche span and a zone line 5 times will make him spawn 100% of the time. Just like running back and forth to make ariloch spawn(Rare game trophy). But I didn't try this out yet because my ps2 is broken but I saw this in TheWingedCloud's video.
@nobly94 the short answer is this, run out compleat of one area and then go to a second then run back though the one you ran out of, its as easy as that

I got my first one on the 15th chain, went to save and went out for supper, return home from the save point (didn't turn off the ps2) have to restart the chain and end up got my 2nd one on 7th chain and 3nd on 15th chain. So 15 apparently is the magic number.
It depends on what you're fighting. people like Yagyu Darkblade so much because It is a dark weapon, so It deals practically double damage to Yiazmat, and that makes the many hours of the fight easier.
You can buy Black Robes (along with White Robes/Black Masks/White Masks which are all very useful) at the Port of Balfonheim. You may need to pass a certain part of the story for them to be on sale.
@arthangell ok let me make it clear, Masamune is ten times better with genji glove and it has less % of makin a double hit then ninja sword but ninja sword does less damage. Tournesol has same double hit as all weapons and sucks shit with genji glove, u are talkin about the Wymhero blade which as 80% but the time u get that u hav enothing left to kill.
I accidentally ran into that bomb on my way to the 2nd part of the masamune hunt when I was about level 40 and was like "holy crap this is hard" ahahah but I eventually killed it and it dropped the darkblade right then and there. Then I was like whats a yagyu darkblade? Holy shit! Luckyyyyy!
If you one-zone 5 times between Lashe Span and the southern area, it will be faster because it takes 4 times as long for the game to load the north area. One zone (5x20%)=100% chance for bombshell to be there. Just flee close to the north zone line, bombshell will be alone.Kill him, take loot, go north (faster than running all the way back) take cart, repeat whole process. Took me 14 hours playing (left on overnight) to get 99 this way. (also i only collect at level 4 chain level)
i got my first one at 7 chain, my second one at 5 chain (because i accidentally left the ps2 on and changed the muisic on itunes) third one on 8 chain (because my brother hit the reset button when i got my second one and yeah XD)
this guy has a horrid drop rate even at high chains until you are lucky enough to get 2-3 of the weapon all at once which could take eons...chaining him is very monotonous as well. i got my first blade at chain 40-something...gave me a headache to say the least. i now have 3 of this weapon and i'm just going to leave it at that, not like you can use all 6 characters at once. i dont know if anyone knows about this but i also got a dragon helm off the wyverns there...just 1 might try for 3. might.

I'm sorry to ask this question, but what is chain? I keep hearing it when trying to get the Yagy Dkblde, and I'd like to get that as soon as possible, although I probably won't. im new to the game, so could you maybe help me out?
I let the chain get to its highest level which for me was 22 and 2-3 kills after that and I got my first darkblade. The very next kill I got 2 in one drop!
I took me about 80 or so Bombshells before I got the Darkblade and sadly the highest chain level as well. I picked up every loot bag as they dropped hoping to get lucky. But no...
I think I have 3 now and don't ever want to try to get another. I'd kill myself trying to get 99 like some of these guys...
i guess I was one of the fortunate ones who received the YB in the fourth try without this long darn chain:-/
My haunch is, chaining just "slightly increases" the drop, but the drop rate sometimes is just random (i.e. Scarletites from Emeralditans, Wargod's Band from Leynir..one to two shots I got each).
obtaining the yagyu darkblade takes longer than battling with Yiazmat using (Zodiac Spear, Tournesol & Ultima Blade) yiazmat takes(3hrs & 1/2) while obtaining 3yagyus takes (4hrs & 1/2) your lucky if you get it on your 1st or 3rd chain...
Lol I beat Yiazmat in 3 hours on my first try xD it all depends on your Gambit setup and the weapons/armor you use. Yiazmat is really easy up untill he has about 4mill HP left. It took me like an hour and a half to get him down to 4 bars but after 4 bars I was stumped because I didn't know he'd get THAT hard x_X
wat the hell is wrong w/ me, im on chain 71 right now, no freaking darkblade, not one, it gave me 6 or 7 high arcanas but no dark blade. im done with my tournesol so i dun need high arcanas anymore... anyone as bad luck as me?

wow are you sure that the 20% works? i thought that kind of thing was for like the chance's of spawning guys like Ishteen Percent rises 2 every 10 seconds or something [ correct me if im wrong on those numbers] But i have not yet tried that instead of wasting even more time i just want confirmation X.X.

How to kill a bombshell every 5 minutes Part 2 As those of you Majoring in math already know 20% chance of spawning x 5 = 100% Kill Mr. Bombshell. Exit Via Site 5. Jump in the shopping cart. Take a ride back to site 11. Re-enter and exit Lasche span 5 times. Kill bombshell. Exit Via site 5. Take another ride in the shopping cart back to site 11. Keep doing this until you have 3 yagyu darkblade.
How to kill a bombshell every 5 minutes Part 3 : Occasionally Mr. Bombshell does not appear with this trick. I do not know if he is taking a nap or taking a dump or what. In the unusuall event that the 5 minute trick does not work exit site 5. Re-enter and he will be in the middle of the bridge. In the even rarer event that he is not in the middle of the bridge exit site 5. Take a ride in the shopping cart. Exit and re-enter Lasche span 5 times.
Note: For clarity what I mean is exit and re-enter from site 11 instead of running all the way across the bridge. By the way make sure that you steal two Mallets from Mr. Bombshell. As you need them to unlock that second Masamune from the Bazaar. The first Masamune being a reward for the Gilgamesh hunt.

I wonder just what use ninja swords are, because their attack power is low, and many of the tough monsters are undead and thus absorb Dark damage.

If you use Yagyu Darkblade paired with Black Robes then it will do an extra 50% damage. So basically making Yagyu Darkblade have 120 ATK.

but anyway.. 22 * 1.5 (genji gloves:P) = 33%.. rly good :P
but now thinks in the masamune.. 40 * 1.5 = 60%!!.. and now the tournesol..
tournessol have a 80% of consecutives.. tournessol + gengi gloves. wow! :P

i got my first one at 7 chain, my second one at 5 chain (because i accidentally left the ps2 on and changed the muisic on itunes) third one on 8 chain (because my brother hit the reset button when i got my second one and yeah XD)

this guy has a horrid drop rate even at high chains until you are lucky enough to get 2-3 of the weapon all at once which could take eons...chaining him is very monotonous as well. i got my first blade at chain 40-something...gave me a headache to say the least. i now have 3 of this weapon and i'm just going to leave it at that, not like you can use all 6 characters at once. i dont know if anyone knows about this but i also got a dragon helm off the wyverns there...just 1 might try for 3. might.

So this is video game hell... yeah, I'm working on it now, but I'm busy. Figure it'll take a couple days chaining when I'm not out or working or whatever, leaving the game on pause when I'm not working on this.
I can imagine doing this as punishment in Hell though...

FOR ANYONE TRYING THIS *****DO NOT***** PICK UP LOOT UNTIL THE BAGS TURN INTO THE LARGO GOLD ONES (the ones after blue bags). IF YOU DON'T PICK UP LOOT THEY'LL CHANGE FASTER GIVING YOU THE BLADE FASTER.

I let the chain get to its highest level which for me was 22 and 2-3 kills after that and I got my first darkblade. The very next kill I got 2 in one drop!

I took me about 80 or so Bombshells before I got the Darkblade and sadly the highest chain level as well. I picked up every loot bag as they dropped hoping to get lucky. But no...
I think I have 3 now and don't ever want to try to get another. I'd kill myself trying to get 99 like some of these guys...

i guess I was one of the fortunate ones who received the YB in the fourth try without this long darn chain:-/
My haunch is, chaining just "slightly increases" the drop, but the drop rate sometimes is just random (i.e. Scarletites from Emeralditans, Wargod's Band from Leynir..one to two shots I got each).

obtaining the yagyu darkblade takes longer than battling with Yiazmat using (Zodiac Spear, Tournesol & Ultima Blade) yiazmat takes(3hrs & 1/2) while obtaining 3yagyus takes (4hrs & 1/2) your lucky if you get it on your 1st or 3rd chain...

Lol I beat Yiazmat in 3 hours on my first try xD it all depends on your Gambit setup and the weapons/armor you use. Yiazmat is really easy up untill he has about 4mill HP left. It took me like an hour and a half to get him down to 4 bars but after 4 bars I was stumped because I didn't know he'd get THAT hard x_X

wat the hell is wrong w/ me, im on chain 71 right now, no freaking darkblade, not one, it gave me 6 or 7 high arcanas but no dark blade. im done with my tournesol so i dun need high arcanas anymore... anyone as bad luck as me?

at normal chain (the bag loot) it is a 3% drop, while at lvl 4 chain (GIANT gold orbs) it is 12%.

the best weapon you can buy in a shop is the Golden Axe attack is 110 but hitting 9999 one sec then 785 the next... it is 18600 i think and you can buy it at the Estersand camp

Well, for me personaly, until LV. 40 I trained at Golmore Jungle. Your party should only contain one character. It's easier that way.

wow are you sure that the 20% works? i thought that kind of thing was for like the chance's of spawning guys like Ishteen Percent rises 2 every 10 seconds or something [ correct me if im wrong on those numbers] But i have not yet tried that instead of wasting even more time i just want confirmation X.X.

That only applies for teleporting monsters/enemies. Bombshell isn't one of those kinds. Dustia and Helvenik are those kinds.

How to kill a bombshell every 5 minutes Part 1: Set your attack gambit to Water weak Attack. So you don't screw up and break your chain. Equip every one with water element weapons . These weapons are weaker when you accidentally counter a non bombshell monster Here is the 5 minute secret. Enter from site 11. Now exit and re-enter Lasche span 5 times.

Take a ride back to site 11. Re-enter and exit Lasche span 5 times. Kill bombshell. Exit Via site 5. Take another ride in the shopping cart back to site 11. Keep doing this until you have 3 yagyu darkblade.

In the unusuall event that the 5 minute trick does not work exit site 5. Re-enter and he will be in the middle of the bridge. In the even rarer event that he is not in the middle of the bridge exit site 5. Take a ride in the shopping cart. Exit and re-enter Lasche span 5 times.

Note: For clarity what I mean is exit and re-enter from site 11 instead of running all the way across the bridge. By the way make sure that you steal two Mallets from Mr. Bombshell. As you need them to unlock that second Masamune from the Bazaar. The first Masamune being a reward for the Gilgamesh hunt.
